Strange maybe to comment here as I am...but by even this video I can sense you treasured "your growing up years" in your western Siberian environment. Even as harsh as it must have been very often on many levels. I see a connection in this video and others you have posted in basic things you do, clothes you enjoy wearing, their specific feel, a texture, the colors and designs, as well and especially the subtle, yet very personal significance of meaning each seems to resonate in you, and how it comforts, seeming to give a sense of pleasure like hearing a bird chirp in the outdoors perhaps after a heavy snow and a cold winter as Spring, which hasn't shown itself, but the bird that catches your attention has noticed already is coming. Those seem to catch your notice about life in a myriad of ways as your thoughts ponder in the moment in real time you seem to savor.
You can often see it in a very small glow in a smile as you speak in a video post, or seen in your eyes. It is refreshing to see and hear your videos.
I suspect if you wore a clown's red bulbous nose in a video for fun (not a request)....your freshness of seeing - moment as you see the world about you in that moment would be just as endearing to many. It has been a pleasure for me to binge on nearly all your posted videos these last few days. I have learned much about myself that enjoyed coming to the surface. Although..as a male scarves are not my thing 🙂..but have had special keepsake of various things I have, a shirt, my Dad's pocket watch, that make me as well feel good to wear (the shirt)...not for others but what it brings to my own core of thoughts. Thank you for that pleasant video posting. Stay safe and well...and continue to be that warmth and pleasant light in your videos, and in your world. It's kinda special. You wear it well! Have a pleasant week ahead, 👋 look forward to another video post going forward.🏆👍

Ana, you put a smile in my heart with this video! Scarves are one of my favorite accessories. I go through periods when I wear them everyday, at other times I don't wear them as often. Depends on my mood. I know from my own experience that I feel most calm, grounded, confident and beautiful when I wear a head scarf. It feels like a crown. I live in a cold, northern climate so I wear mostly cotton or wool scarves. In the heat of the summer scarves keep me cooler than wearing my hair down. When the weather is hot I wet my hair and wrap it up inside a scarf. The moisture from my wet hair inside the scarf keeps me cool all day. Like my own, personal air conditioning. I love experimenting with different wrapping techniques. I have found that most people comment that it must be complicated to wrap a scarf. It however, is very simple, and always looks beautiful. Thank you for another inspiring message. Hearing from you brightens my day. Sending you much love and strength.

For having been a re-enactor for more than 20 years and having read and written on this so much... covering head is really not only religious / cultural ! The first reason why a woman would like to cover her head would be for protecting her hair, so it's mainly fonctionnal : when you don't want to have / show dirty hair because it was not that easy to wash them ! No shover, no shampoo, it's possible to wash hair of course in lots of different ways, and I don't say that people from antiquity and middle age were not washing their hair, but just it was way more difficult ! So you would protect them from dust, smoke while cooking in open fire, smells of cooking, all that can happen when working outside also... and it would protect also from heat or cold, as the MA veils were often made of thin wool ! It can be helpfull to use head covering, and knots, plates etc. to keep hair clean longer and be more frugal on shampoos ! Then it also was a way for some fashion, fancy, showing oneself wealth etc. Women and their bodies are not just a place for religious or cultural fights, it's also a fonctionnal and working body... from a deep rooted atheist.

Hi Ana, thank you so much for your video. Your headscarves look beautiful on you. You have given me so many ideas. I have very fine short hair also dark brown. Like you was using henna but have decided to stop for now. I have more grey than brown. After a loooooooong think, I have decided to transition to grey. The inbetween stage is, always the hardest. I have been using all my spare yarn, cotton or wool. Three or four strands and knitting headbands. My favourite pattern for now is from knitting patterns galore chunky cabled headband free knitting pattern. Its, a great way to use up small amounts of yarn. I think it would look lovely on you. It is very cold where I am, so maybe a bit warm for you now. A headband or acarf makes me feel more confident, as my hair is so fine, and difficult to style. Thank you so much for sharing. I love the two bandanas together. Take care Gale x

I wear shorter cuts, but then all my cowlicks (what are they called in Russian??? ) stick up in the air or they stick out sideways. 🤣 Scarves get everything under control. Also, I need a little feeling of pressure on my head to feel less anxious due to autism. Thank you so much for making this video! The way you tie your scarves is so creative and I appreciate you demonstrating how you do it. The paintings between each chapter are beautiful. And I loved hearing about the history of scarves and will check out the articles you provided. I normally wear my hair short, but I have let it grow out to shoulder length. This video may inspire me to go back to short hair again. I have a lot of scarves, so I will try some of your techniques. Thank you again!

Just a few weeks ago I was playing with a scarf to emulate your wonderful style! I thought to ask you how you did it, so I am happily making mental notes from this video! I have loved wearing hats and scarves all my life. I have made hats & plan to make many more, for myself and for sale. I have ideas for making unusual hats out of used clothing, wish me luck! You always look lovely & enchanting, your personal style is captivating and unique. I know we've spoken about henna+indigo before. I'm still using it for now as I am only halfway grey. I am going on holiday this week, I look forward to wearing a scarf "Ana style" for the hot weather there. Paka paka! :)

I live in an area of USA where it is very, very hot climate from June through end of September ot even into a few weeks in October sometimes. Temperatures have been in the mid to high 90's and hovering around 100 degrees. Not all areas of USA have this weather temperatures but where I live it gets hot like that for certain months of the year. We only use Fahrenheit temps in USA. and not Celsius temperatures.
So when I go out, to walk to bus stop, etc. I always wear a baseball cap.
However, my baseball caps are soft colors, i have a pink one and another one with pastel, light blue and pink colors together on the cap. They are very pretty.
My baseball caps are also made with small little holes on the top of the cap
so it is not so hot to wear them and more breathable on your head.

Hi Sweet Anna. I loved this video. I want to try your bandana tie idea. I love wearing headbands, hats, etc. I get overheated easy so unless its cold weather can only wear one layer fabric. Sometimes I modify clothes and use the extra fabric for a make shift headband. Or just an elastic ribbon from the craft store. Its a lot cooler.
I really like your “favorite” plaid scarf. I have one similar in cotton with lots of purple. I wear it in cold months often. I will think of you now
    when i wear it.

I have been wearing for religious reasons. I don't like saying that though because people have funny ideas about what that actually means and in my brain it's not like that. God dosnt ask us to do things that are bad for us. For me it's an act of surrender and obedience to God and its up to my husband to surrender and be obedient as God instructs HIM to do it, i think the busy body nature of humans is more harmful than the actual religious act of head covering if that makes sense. Anyway, now that I've been doing it i like it. I feel safe and protected and somehow more feminine. It hides my hair on bad hair days and sometimes I don't wear it at all either. But i like the fabrics and colours a scarf can add to your outfit as well. I have quite a few in my collection, i even managed to thrift some silk ones..

Hi Kami! I used some random dye that I managed to get in an art store in my Siberian city, it wasn't natural as far as I remember but it adhered to the fabric really well and never bleeded. The fabric is one-layer thin muslin. I want to try natural dyeing soon! It's such a fascinating process.

Yes, it’s so interesting, Ana, how individual styles emerge!
I, for example, wear the same couple of outfits all the time (I own them in several copies).
Totally like an anime character :).
This way I am being ‘myself’ to the maximum, and feel much less drained of energy when being out and about.
For example, I always wear a cotton beret with my 2 braids hanging down. And that takes only 4 minutes daily in front of the mirror, instead of 1 hour of struggling with kinky hair previously!
I found this elegant solution almost 20 yrs ago and now , when the grey started popping up all over my head, I feel even merrier. No need to figure out one more nonsensical problem.
Thank you, Ana, for this video. The way you folded the forest green bandanna (white lettering appearing at the very center) was cool!

Hi Saga! I think, if you have longer hair, like at least shoulder-length, it can be more challenging to keep the headscarf in place. Or it can be the material too: rougher textiles (not viscose, silk, or polyester) are more "adhesive" 😊
