Do you think the haste + resilience gear will make mages more competitive for the large playerbase or will it still be the hardest caster to climb with you reckon?
@@elBoneyard It's going to be a lot easier to be competitive for sure, but Priest is going to have an easier time climbing. One thing to keep in mind is that in 3s, SPriest and Mage are about equivalent, the thing that pushes Priest over the edge there is having access to Disc. SPriest alone has a few less comps to run in 3s similar to mage. I'd just make BOTH classes since it's going to be super easy to gear them up this season!
@@elBoneyard I think Troll & Human are about equal this phase, with Human being slightly better in more situations. Then it tips a little more to Ally with the final phase trinkets & passive haste.
Also, fk blizzard for not hotfixing the sacred shield changes earlier on. A straight up slap in the face to mages once again. Atleast we finally are getting ours!

Great guide! I noticed that you focus more on SP in gems instead of haste. For example BiS from Abraiky is more focussed on haste. Why do you focus more on SP ?
I ended up preferring more spellpower for the 2v2 I was focusing on - I found that around 20-25% Haste was a solid amount to do all the things I needed. Plus I had Troll Racial and Scale of Fates. So I think I'm going to experiment with higher spellpower again. But I also think haste is giga important in the "solace regen set" since you have no Scale of Fates and will often not have any cooldowns in the midgame of 3v3 combat, meaning more passive haste might be a little stronger.
Hey potentially level 1 question over here... all the guides have 2 socket on belt and I can only find the one with 1 socket. Is it assuming a profession bonus or something?
Arcane spec would be even more well optimized with the frost gear he has listed here, as arcane benefits from haste an equal amount that frost does. The caviat would be you actually use that gear to raid as arcane where as you're never allowed to step foot in a raid as frost, just my 2 cents though.
Hey dude, yeah you can pretty much use the exact same sets for both Frost and Arcane. You could maybe up the resilience a little with some item or gem swaps until it feels comfortable.
Do you find yourself needing a lot of mana in that comp? I'd go with the "solace 3s" set in the description, and if you end up needing more you could even supplement further with the meta gem and Mana Gem glyph swaps.
@@MegaphoneTV yes, you are a spellsteal machine to steal the shields while warrior pumps. You go afk at times while warrior min maxes damage, they eventually oom and u still have lot of mana and dont need to evo yet.

Does this BiS list change if you are human? I would assume Solace + Scales. With that being said would you suggest someone spend their honor on furious offset piece during last day of AV and farm as much honor as possible back?
Oh it definitely changes. There's a few Alliance sets in the description you should check out. As for how you go about getting your honor grind done, it depends what gear level you're at. You could grab the furious subjugation haste neck/cape now if you're very undergeared and are just looking to get up to speed and start blasting in s7 battlegrounds. Since I'm fully geared I'm just saving all honor for Relentless pieces personally. You could wait till a bg weekend, or buy gear now to "re-sell" back tomorrow to exceed the normal honor point cap, but honestly just heading into a wintergrasp every few hours and doing some BGs for your dailies is all you really need to get honor geared up in a week.

@@CHAOSiNHO Both Mages and Rogues should pick an SP partner this season imo. It's so much better than Mage/Rogue (even though Mage's powerlevel is going up quite a bit). But if you're as good as Megaphone at MR, you should probably just go Glad/R1 with that.
Haha you guys are tooo kind. My bread and butter is definitely mage/rogue but I'll definitely try playing with some more spriest or dpriest this season just for the experience. The learning curve for all these comps depends heavily on your partner imo, it takes a real good rogue or priest that knows how to survive.
the only 2 trinkets for casters are solace and reign of the dead (absolute shit in pvp because you never crit - and when you do crit and get all 3 stacks and it explodes for 1k damage if not less) . and what guild is gonna just --give-- a solace to a mage? so youre only left with bidding $$$ in gdkp
Solace isn't going to be that hard to get, there's already a lot of high level mages who are running it in arena already. They are probably getting them through GDKPs though, you're right. It's also not the craziest upgrade for healers, it's a great item for them but I think you could make a case for your guild to prio the first or second one to you without any impact on progression.

Eh I don't think so personally, we have a lot of haste now that it's late expansion. But it's not bad and plenty of people run it with no issues.
