Get a game reel on a bent but rod and hook the shark while chasing the doggies. Let the shark struggle half way down, theres a good chance the shark gets sharked and not your doggy. Or you keep a shark busy to land the doggy. It wouod be pretty cool to see how big of a shark you can find!.
I cop heaps of shit for using heavy gear man, while everyone using lighter stuff and fighting/playing with them for ages. But I never get snapped off/reefed and always get my fish to the boat.
