Isn't that just what people do though; spend to the edge of their means and beyond into to debt. They put themselves on a hamster wheel and just get to running, soon they can't stop without loosing everything. Well told, great story! Thanks!
Its a metaphor for life....... Oftentimes, people are conditioned to do nothing, even when conditions are harsh...... it takes a long long time before people finally decide and are brave enough to make a change.
That's a good way to see it, also I think it's about the life we waste grinding away. Really is sitting in a chair for years much different than most of the jobs people do?. When he finally stood up from the chair he was fired almost like saying, don't step out of line in life and follow along like everybody else and don't think independently or you will be fired from society.
Powerful little film. Thoughts: be careful what you wish for! Ease isn't an end in itself. Stimulation, challenge, variety are ESSENTIAL, not just optimal.
Reminded me somewhat of the Government Job I had where 3 years; except that I had a Desk, a Computer and a Telephone. No IN Tray, No OUT Tray, No Duty Statement describing My Job, No work of any kind. Just 3 years of absolute boredom for 7 Hours and 21 Minutes, Monday to Friday.
I did a similar government job back in around 1990. Only lasted less than a year. Only saving grace is that I could listen to the radio. That is the only thing that kept me sane.
@@Weareallimperfect well, if you think about it, the life it's designed and given to us, and sustained by God, the creator. Wether you believe it or not (yet), there's evidence for that. So in that case we are created for a purpose that is to glorify Him. And one of the ways we glorify God is by being happy, by having joy in all we do.
@@ionutneda6964 yes I see but also to glorify God we have to grow and growth is deeper, faster through suffering(sanctification) of ourselves. It's like when bad things happen to good people it's a lesson that we all need to do better as a whole. Happiness is good but fleeting the same as bad times don't last but it's in the bad times, are the greatest lessons.
Super weird But my perception That person is human, interviewer is destiny His commitment and his loans are his trap Chair is the illusion His mindset is trying to get out but traps never allow him to do, his mindset is voice of god Destiny gives the path, traps and commitment never allow to chose the different path, we never follow our inner voice, ultimately we lose our lifetime and when we decide lot is lost

I am wondering too. He got more into debt, wife got child, was his. Got a dog, wife left him. He stood up.and his income left too. Yes, he was being watched. Saved the company $$ as the security guy quit...at the end, still a job, got paid For doing no production but got screwed by wife. Jobless, old and with child and a dog. No benefits? No vacation paid?
That's basically life. A hamster wheel. Same old same old. Basically the same work day over and over. Maybe some variation, but even in the variation, there is a pattern. Other points: Then you have people living at the edge of their means, then boom, fired. Spending too much time living to work and not working to live. Not taking care for your needs, not setting healthy boundaries with those close to you leads to trouble. You should set some $ aside for the future. Even when you think no one is watching...you could be wrong. People can get fired for dumb reasons. Sometimes quitting a job because it is boring and driving you mad, quietly and slowly, is a perfectly good reason. Don't sit around in a bad job just because it is the easiest thing to do.
Some of the Spanish words used surprised me. His word he uses for "ass" is "culo". It is correct but it's also concidered vulger. I would think they'd use "nalgas" or "fondallo". Of course they isn't supposed for kids and it might not be vulgar in Spain.
An insanely brilliant work of art… the comedic and tragic aspects of life condensed into 15 wonderfully entertaining minutes. 10/10!
This was a great short and the actors, especially the protagonist, deserve a lot of respect. A great metaphor for a life of an office worker.

So many different hidden meanings or metaphors 😊
Ten years just to add one line to his CV. "And why did you leave your last job?" "I stood up." "We'll get back with you, (ruffles papers) Mr. Vidal."
The amount of courage one needs to step up to change... laid bare with such manic episodes its the irony of a meaningful life.
Do as you're told and collect a paycheck. Stand up for yourself and get fired. A perfect picture of the corporate world.

I think it’s about not giving your time In life just for money
it’s BS

We see how important the small interactions are, the cup of coffee, getting up going to the printer and being able to pee when needed…..
Most people couldn't handle a job like this.waste of time and life doing nothing even if u are being paid.
With the cumulative 30 percent raise, he was a rich man by the time he got fired, with more than 20k euros a month pay.
... but his wife.
Inflation exists

Now we know why taxes are so high and the government’s employee numbers so high. All in the name of creating employment so statistics can be fiddled.

Security at the social security office. Just sitting down in front of a computer.

Every job in a way like get up against the system. Money doesn't equal happiness but really life isn't about happiness when you think about it
