Just skated there for my first time this past week. I've been skating for almost 19 years now and have wanted to go there for years upon years. The history of that place makes it worth the trip from anywhere. It put me in my place though. Mainly a street skater, I don't skate transitions too much so it was very intimidating for me. But one of the coolest skate trips I've ever been on. Just skating something that soome of skateboardings biggest legends have skated in amazing.
Some of this footy is from the Philly Freeze contest from '96 or '97. They covered it in Thrasher. I remember because me and my boys were all stoked that we were in the cover picture for the article (little ass specs in the background haha).
@kmmkod Skateboard only, BUT I've seen videos of bikers - both pedal and off-road. Not sure the regulars like that, and Philly let's everyone know what we're thinking. If they don't want it, they won't let it. Translated - "civil, if you respect their wishes."
id like to kno how much money has been spent on it so far and how they got funding if they did get funding besides people pitching in because that wont work for small towns due to insurance costs..also does fdr have insurance????anyone know answers to these questions?
dude where is this park, this rips, but tell me 2, it need to be paid to enter? sorry its cuz im from brazil, if i ever go there i don't wana miss this place for nufs, it looks ganarly wana see u styles eua guys
is this a skateboard only park? or are all these dudes civil and allow bmx riders? cause if anyone has seen "stay fit" brian foster rides this park a fair bit in his section.
At least bikers have mutual respect for skaters. The same doesn't seem to apply for other sports. I was once a "skater only" back in the early nineties and i still do both to this day. I admit i don't pick up the skateboard as much as i used to, but that's my choice. The guys at FDR don't "hate" BMX, but the park IS for skateboarding. We wouldn't want you on our trails either, but I "like" lots of skaters.
