I’ve seen a lot of people upset, claiming Metallica one best metal album for 72 seasons. They didn’t win the best metal/rock album. That wasn’t the category. They won best metal performance I don’t even know who walked away with the best album.
The Grammys were always a fake piece of garbage of a popularity context by clueless normies. With that said, some Grammys were more egregious than others. Jethro Tull over Metallica back in the day was indeed very egregious, as was Foo Fighters over Dream Theater. Metallica over Spirit Box wasn't egregious Imho because Spirit Box didn't deserve to win either. I'd say Slipknot or Disturbed should have won this year not Metallica/Spirit Box. Regardless, it's still all meaningless, I just wholeheartedly agree with you about not understanding the so called 'controversy' of Spirit Box losing it this year or Metallica winning it(which lets face it, everyone knew would happen, popularity and all).
Grammys always rely on nostalgia that actually ruins memories. Shock value at the red carpet that comes off just annoying. And doesn’t remotely have a finger on the pulse of music scenes people are into.
The Grammy Awards should have a best heavy metal album category. & the Grammy Awards should nominate a heavy metal song in the best record & best song of the year category. They should have a heavy metal album be nominated for album of the year.
