The Exotic Tour/Summer Tour '94 was a 1994 concert tour by English electronic group Depeche Mode in support of the act's eighth studio album, Songs of Faith and Devotion, which was released in March 1993. The tour is an extension of the Devotional Tour in 1993, which reached Europe and North America. The tour visited territories which the band had never performed in or had not toured in for some time, reaching Africa, Asia, Australia, and South America. The tour commenced in Johannesburg, South Africa in early February. As of 2016, this was the last tour the group visited Australia, Southeast Asia or South Africa. In May 1994, the group visited North America on the "Summer Tour, '94". This was the second leg of North American dates promoting Songs of Faith and Devotion and took place mostly in outdoor venues and amphitheatres.
    In 1994 Depeche Mode were:
    Alan Wilder
    Martin Gore
    Dave Gahan
    Andrew Fletcher
    Daryl Bamonte (As Backing Musician)

That's because he was a huge Bohnam fan, Al used his drum samples in several tracks and tuned his drum kit in his way.
Although he wasn't a very professional drummer, but he sounded more tasty and authentic than the modern dm-touring drummer.

The sparseness of the stage was to pay for the extravagant show set Corbjin had designed for the first part of the tour as it was expensive to transport. Its exactly the same reason why Prince had to extend his Lovesexy tour in 1988 .

I don’t think Fletch was in this. He left maybe around the middle of the SOFAD Tour to get rest or rehab. Well, all I can say is the four of them are the dream team. Whatever anyone says about Fletch, he was part of the team in his own way. This is the dream team of Depeche Mode. Back of my mind I wish Alan would return. I think many people would want that. DM is still the best and will continue to be the best. Stay strong guys. One man down. I cant believe they’ve come so far and have longevity that now they’ve reached a point where they lost a member due to death. They’re like 60s now. Still young and amazing though.

Thank you for uploading. Sometimes it's actually sad to find it so good, knowing what was going on at the time. I would imagine that the band knew from the first notes whether the evening was going to be good or not. Clips from the Devotional Tour, recorded for VHS at the time, show more verve and interaction with the fans, knowing it was being recorded. Here, for example, it's played, you can tell, like a programme, hoping it'll be over soon. You could also think that it would collapse from one second to the next. But you can't blame it all again, considering the huge tour. It tugs at the nerves. The management, I don't think it was fixed at the time, could have taken countermeasures so that there weren't too many gigs. Kind regards

Gahan really gave a great performance at this show. People think it’s easy being a front man. It isn’t. They just make it look easy. You try to sing and dance for over a hour and engage the audience. Most people can’t do it and that’s why they are highly paid. They earn every fan and every penny.
It looks exhausting to be running around on stage like that. It’s much easier to just stand behind a keyboard and play immobile.
As usual Fletcher always looks like he’s just standing there doing the minimum. Like he was a Supervisor.
I still wonder what did he actually contribute to the band musically? Probably nothing.
Thanks for posting this show! 👏🏻
