I can only toggle copy and lock interfere with the move tool, but there's no alt option. I'm stuck at the part where you go under the boat and use the offset tool and then the move tool.

It could be the angle your are viewing from. If you just click the large rectangle, you have the face and you will see the blue dots. Then jut type the # I give and it will snap to the correct size.

Sorry you struggled with it. Which spot did you get stuck at? There's also a newer version that I do in two parts that you may like. It uses metric numbers instead of the inches in feet, not that that matters

Are you using a pc, mac or chromebook? I will do a quick test here.
Just tested using my.sketchup.com and it still works as it did. Shift is the lock inference. Alt is to toggle the auto fold. That is the magic one.
