wow! youve got the art in you Miss Lady. did i understand you to say it takes a year to dry them after harvesting? I have my very first bunch of 9 nearing the end of thier "vined life" thanks, and awesome video. love your artsy fartsiness.
Hello I would like to know if you can dry the skin after removing the flesh? Does this work for melons? I would like to capture the beautiful patterns of the melons and make a few bowls
Melon shells would rot because of their water content. These gourds are a "hard shell" variety, this means that their shells will dry and almost have a wood-like density and texture. I hope this helps!
This video is really good, nice work, well done :) looks beautiful the results from the Gourds. I need to share this video with my sister in law, she is an art teacher, she will love it for sure :D :D. You have another fan :) #IAmACreator
Amazing... Lovely craft work. May I know how long does it takes to dry? Is it roughly an year or so? Are these supposed to be kept in a dry and cold place or warm n dry area? TIA.

Older seeds do grow but the germination rate drops off dramatically after a year or two.

They are beautiful. Just curious if you ever put drain holes in the pots💕NonnaGrace 🐓
I just had a thought of making flower pots out of them drill a couple drainage holes in the bottom
Those are gorgeous nice job love them
Thank you Helen!
How did you cut the top off? Thanks
Do these hold hold up good with just the acrylic sealer? when watering your gourds? Love the idea.

Thank you! They don't take a year to dry, but it probably took me that long as I tend to start a lot of projects at the same time 😎

That is so cool! I will definitely be making some. How did you get the top off of the gourd?
I poked a hole in it and then cut it with a knife.

It depends how much sealant you use. And I would recommend using them as cache pots.
