    The reason of why this guy is such a beast, isn't just because of his athleticism, but his passion for the game. He's as good as he is because he enjoys the game, something alot of players these days can't do, because of the large paycheck. This man doesn't see basketball as a job, rather as a hobby, like a little kid.

    Imagine a player with Russ style offense and Beverly style defense. That would be such a frustrating player to play against, just constant physical bombardment on both ends. I mean guarding WB looks frustrating enough on its own. Being guarded by Beverly looks frustrating on its own. But both??? In the same game? That would be helllllla frustrating, you might foul out lol.

    • @iudexCervello
      @iudexCervello 7 лет назад +15

      He's like 33% on the season. Respectively Harden is 35%. Russ has gotten considerably better at the three, and no one said he's a three point threat, just that he can hit them much more consistently

  • @willhooke
    @willhooke 3 года назад +14

    0:29 Assists coming from transition - attention to Big Man
    0:43 Russ pushes, which draws extra defenders
    1:32 P&R
    Pushes, forcing Big to cover him, allowing him to dime to Centre
    1:55 P&R
    When driving, defenders then double him, which allows for more assists
    2:13 Back to basket at 3 point line
    Defenders assuming he is going to ISO his man, so they come to help, which allows for more assists
    2:27 One handed passes, passes off the bounce
    2:42 FINISHING
    Attacking before the D is in position means they cannot effectively contest his layups
    2:58 ...this includes his Eurostep attacks
    3:39 Physical finisher - uses off arm whilst pinning ball to hip
    4:15 when attacking, if in control is an effective finisher
    5:02 when extending passed D, more control & better finishing
    5:35 when patient, openings present themselves
    Patience is important for such a relentless attacker
    6:08 ATTACKING
    7:40 MOVES
    Hang hesi
    into Pullup Jumper
    8:40 In & Out from Crossover

    You forgot russ's post game, he's developed a fadeaway and face up game the past 3 years now. It has been unstoppable for almost every guard the past years especially last year, he hit a high % of them as well. Just watch how he used it consistently on cp3 and pat beverly the past years, its straight up murder. Even did it on bradley and smart.

      Westbrook is Great Player, but u gotta admit his efficiency is poor. 39 % from the field and 26 % at the 3pt line. Plus a lot turnovers and playing lack luster defense, bcoz he wants to get those extra rebounds just to have the triple double.

    • @waynewoods8078

      Dennis Poncardas he has the highest usage rate in the NBA so of course he's gonna have TOS. He also plays pretty good defense and has been a rebounding guard since he was drafted.

    Instead of doing an Attention to Detail once to one player, maybe you should consistently update it throughout the season to see how they've gone through, if there were any changes to their game, etc... I think it'd be a great idea. Great video btw, best basketball channel on RUclips man.

    The idea of driving deep into the paint to attract defenders is sort of "magnetizing". It's essential to have players who can do that at any position on the floor to distort and mess up the defense, so they can't guard everyone. A simple 2-on-1 fast break does that when run quickly. A drive and kick out does it. A long 3-pt jumper can start it. But, you've gotta be a real threat to score to attract multiple defenders, to be magnetic. And you've got to have teammates who know how to be available for an open shot.
