Beautiful playing Clive.... It's most certainly a pleasant moment to hear you play - it's not always the eyes watching as once said by a pianist - Julian Jacobson who got me into city lit college through an audition. I was only 17 I started piano quite late and was odd he was not watching me play and I asked why and Julian replied " I am listening to you playing which is what music bis about not for the eyes but the ears " haha it was a good point! I never forgot that... 😊
I met JJ only once in the dim distant past. We had a friendly pint at a pub in London and chatted about music for a couple of hours, and I don't believe we ever met again! Oh well.... He was good company, but it was just before I moved to the USA.
@@pianoinsights6092 oh that's interesting, so I won't tell you anymore names , one my most inspiring teachers and he is a professor at RCM - Chris Wilson , he also plays a lot of jazz , but wow he Inspired me more with classical. I never forget one day he dissected in parts Beethoven's 3rd piano concerto on an old upright piano while I was barely trying to learn a Beethoven sonatina! Haha and he Knew that I loved the 3rd concerto so he showed me some difficult passages he found when studying at RCM on the early 60s and along with some Rach 3 which I didn't even know that concerto well at the time... Thanks again for messaging back Clive And I really appreciate your helpful and insightful tutorials... Lance.
I sure wish we lived in Texas. I would be bringing my son to you for lessons. He had many years with a wonderful teacher who retired. He’s an advanced level pianist , but your insights are superb. I am confident that he would have benefitted greatly with you as a teacher. As it, I am just a piano mom with 14 years worth of sitting in on every lesson. Piano fascinates me. This is one of my all time favorite pieces . Brendel has a version here on RUclips that is my “ go to” but yours is exquisite as well. I do so enjoy all your tutorials.
I`m playiny this too fast - must slow down Many thanks for putting this piece on your channel and showing me where I am going wrong
Wonderful interpretation Clive!
Thanks, Stefano. There'll be more videos before long, I promise!
