    Pathetique is my favourite Beethoven sonata even though I am not a big Beethoven fan as his other compositions seem a bit too much of 'tormented soul' to me. This is a piece that I think that I can really 'get' it and 'feel' the music. Your explanation of interpretation and technique is very enlightening and inspiring. Thank you. Now my problem is, having watched some videos in your channel, I suddenly have too many pieces I want to refresh and polish again, and there is not enough time!

    Great video. Thank you for your insights into the workings of the music. I am currently working to revive this piece after a few years, watching your video I realize just how much I missed with my first attempt to master this sonata.

    Lovely 'masterclass'! My son is learning this currently and the way you highlight the subtle details of phrasing, intent and techniques are very valuable for young kids learning this piece. Lot of times he (and I am sure other kids as well) don't pick up on a lot of these when they are in their lesson or even during their practice. Your interpretation style is soft, subtle and sophisticated - very much appreciated Clive!

    Thank you Clive for such informative tutorials - full of invaluable tips. I particularly enjoyed your explanation of circular fingering, something I'm more aware of when playing ANY piece now. Your indepth analysis of the 3 movements of the Pathetique Sonata have certainly enhanced my own interpretation of this wondrous piece.

    Your middle c, possibly d and e-flat, have a mechanical click sound, to the key. A good tuner/tech should be able to isolate the cause and eliminate that

    At 4:23 I've been using pedal to cover up the chops in the RH, is that acceptable? Or do I do it without pedal and make it sound legato??

    Should have called out measures by citing measure numbers.
    Are music students supposed to follow based on telepathy?

    • @pianoinsights6092
      @pianoinsights6092  3 года назад +4

      These videos are designed for students with a working knowledge of the music. Calling out measure numbers would slow everything down unnecessarily and be very tedious for most listeners.
