  • Gluing the acoustic guitar back to the sides is the first half of closing the box. In this video, I show my process for radiusing the kerfing, cutting out notches to support the braces, then gluing the acoustic guitar back on using spool clamps.

    Wow the grain lines transitioning from the sides to the back almost match well enough to make it look like one solid piece of wood. This is going to look insane under finish. I wants MOAR!!!!

      That's a happy accident that the grain aligns that way. The figure was better 180 degrees, but I did something stupid with a planer and cracked it. Rotating it got me enough wood to avoid the mishap...and amazingly, it looks like this!

    This method concerns me. It is definitely easier, but how can you hold to the shape that the mold provides.

      Fair point. Once I had the kerfing glued, the sides are pretty much set where they were going to be. Had I not overbuilt the kerfing, continuing to use the mold would’ve added more value in keeping the shape
