      True, but think about it: when this movie was made, he was already 43 years old. He was in better shape than most people will be at that age, and looked better than most will look by the time they're 35. I am qualified to say this because I'm 38 and some of my classmates are looking like hell these days, and even more are out of shape. Many people will get fat when they get old, and don't forget that Seagal is 66 now. He was already in his late 30's when he became an action star.

      @@moahammad1mohammad Did you even read what I wrote? Seagal was still in great shape at 43. Let's see how Keanu or any of you look at 66. Keanu is also the exception; most of the people his age look like hell if they didn't spend millions of dollars on their faces and bodies, and some look even worse when they do.

      Plenty of actors look great at 60 and above and are just as rich as Reeves, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson, Jean Van Claude. Still no excuse to lose some weight and take some exercise classes instead of Akaido classes. Oh and BTW Penn from Penn and Teller did the opposite Segal did, he went from being 350 down to 140. He looks extremely slim and he is old as hell too. Age still isn't an excuse.

      yes and the way he holds his presence like a fighting monk hands folded back straight, and the moving hands flailing bit I used to think that was an impenetrable defense hands moving so fast a punch or kick cant even get though, of course you loose tons of energy doing it long term though it might work if you are fast and happen to be like Muhammad Ali, but you dont see that in UFC or cage fighting, you have no one style masters anymore fighting it out they are a hybrid of styles and have been for at least a decade or more, not like the 1990's when it started up and you had muy thai vs savate, or Gracie jujitsu that stomped everyone till they all learned the secret of the art, and learned to defend against it, or you actually would have people that seemed to be outclassed and still won, yea those were the days.
      I always wanted to be able to just take down people in a fight like Segal slow confident moving death.

    Big laughter and clapping in the theater when Segal delivered that kitchen line at the end. In spite if a couple of the dumb, over-the-top scenes (and not as good as the first Under Siege) this was still a fun and creative (for martial arts genre) film. And it did fairly well at the box office. Wish he had fine one more, say a fight the terrorists film at the Pentagon or something.

      If airforce 1 was never made, then under siege 3 would have taken place on Air Force 1. The main bad guy is a top ranking secret service agent who is the best at what he does and is also an aikido master. The fight would involve two people, one knife, and an akido power struggle. Ryback would actually take two quick hard punches to the face making him bleed a little before he gets the upper hand and stabs the guy in the chest with the knife they were struggling for.

      What’s cool about this sequel is the villain roles changed. First movie tommy lee Jones was not only the master mind but the main villain. Gary busey was the secondary. Here Dain is the boss and mastermind. For the fight though, his main henchman, penn, who is in the Gary busey role here, has to do the actually end fight. Pretty cool switch up.

    Seagal's biggest flaw as an action hero was that the bad guys were never allowed to lay a hand on him. They get a single shot in and he'd go berserk and kill them instantly. Nobody wanted invincible good guys in the 90s. We liked John McClane.

      up until that moment I thought Penn would give him a real run for his money, guy was immune to pepper spray, didn't get phased til end of film frustration wise and was shown to be deadly fast with a knife. He even had Ryback dead to rights with a hostage and grenade...then those first few knife exchanges and I knew...he was gonna get murdered. At the end of the day he was just a wannabe(hat said I LOVE the actor's portrayal of him)

      Grand Moff Exactly. This man was MORE than a marksman with a gun, and seemed earlier to be untouchable even with a blade. He even says, that uncle of yours scares me, and I like it. His fighting performance was a real disappointment. The end fight of part one, was a much closer comparison, as they were both trained in the same fighting style.

    Actually Penn could do 5 things: He threw himself and Ryback of the stairs, gave him a cut with his knife, while holding his throat kicks him off him. That's already 4. Then Ryback decided: "Now enough played." After kicking his ass and while trying to break his foot, Penn gave him a kick in the head. Penn's total: 5

    • @Filthy_Larry
      @Filthy_Larry 2 года назад +3

      True. Penn isn’t a total push over. Just like Stranix. Stranix not only held his own on short notice and kept some knife moves against ruback, but also gave him a cut above his eye. An inch lower and he would have blinded tubal and possibly take the fight.

    Now imagine in an alternate universe. Penn gets the knife knocked out his hands and then receives Seagals fatal blow combo since he ate a consumable before the fight. Penn after kicking ryback in the head, instead of going for the cleaver, he makes his way up stairs and manages to grab the grenade from his niece and blow up ryback. However penn would still be at a loss since everyone would make fun of his face for being all messed up.

    The pacing is good the actions are good, music is fenomenal, the story is nice and the characters are, though 2 dimension characters all it's still enjoyable to watch.
    And yes, although Saegal was kinda godlike in these movies but in reality very few standard man would have stand a chance agains him in fighting when he was 30-40 years old as a 193 cm tall muscular aikido master and instructor.
    So i was fine with the skills he had in these movies.
