Gears 5 is like Gears 2: They both had stand-out campaign stories, but were both disasters on launch. Hopefully Gears 6 can make a comeback like Gears 3. It's their last chance to have something truly great.

Also, at this point every Gears game from here on out should have a *proper* 4 player co-op campaign.. who the hell wants to play as Jack?😒

Are they still having a showcase? If so, im tuning in to see what games they show, & guess which of this shows games get the boot, by this time next year. Its a must watch event this time for sure.
Gears of War 2 UE this year. And a Gears 6 Trailer Is Bare Minimum that needs to happen. Anything more……..(Fenix Collection, Movie, Gears 6 details) is gravy.
I agree that a trailer at minimum should be expected. I'm not usually in the camp of "they owe us *something*, it's been quiet for too long". But I feel like the timing is right now, and there's been so much anticipation, that *something* should likely happen (even if just nod/mention). Even if the game is still a ways out, an artistic trailer (that doesn't even give anything away) or a tech demo showing the capability of what they're working with would help encourage fans.

Despite going into June 2022 and 2023 with a "believe it when I see it" mentality, I do genuinely think 2024 is the year that we will see official information about Gears. I can see it playing out like E3 2015, in which we get a short teaser for Gears 6 alongside a longer announcement for a side project. As for whether that side project is the Fenix Collection, I have no idea. But I do think there is a decent chance that we could get a remaster of one or more Gears games. Aside from that, I can also see something similar to E3 2018 in which multiple Gears projects are announced, even if it's just a simple title drop for some spin-offs that are still a couple years or more away. The Coalition has been suspiciously quiet for quite some time, but they've also been hiring people with increased frequency for the last several months, so that makes the possibility of an announcement more believable for me, though the lack of some key roles like CMs is a bit concerning. I'm also quite concerned about the potential lack of vision at TC. I've used this analogy countless times in the past, but I continually use it as it is a realistic thought experiment on the state of TC, and that's the Ship of Theseus. Pretty much everyone who made Gears *Gears,* even the people who made Gears 5 what it is, are no longer at the studio. Most devs either had their contracts expire or they moved onto greener pastures. So if all the key people are no longer at the studio, can it even really still be considered the same studio? I see a lot of people say they have little faith that Gears 6 will be good because they think that TC dropped the ball with Gears 4 and 5. Maybe the new devs will be better than their predecessors, maybe they'll be worse. Either way, I think the pool of truly passionate Gears devs has been exhausted. I get the sense that much of the studio is now comprised of devs who signed on to the project for the pay or for a job, and not because they had genuine love for the series. For example, much of Epic had serious love for Gears and loved the work they did, but I feel as if the new team is made up of people who might not share the same enthusiasm and are just there for a paycheck. That being said, I am extremely glad that Parasidian is head of lore at TC. I can't think of anyone more qualified. I think there's a decent chance that we'll get some sort of announcement with the Netflix stuff, probably a title, synopsis, and maybe who will be the showrunner, director, producer, and/or casting. I don't see a trailer being likely, but more so just an official announcement of what Netflix is cooking up. Overall, I'm expecting Gears 6 and Netflix news, and maybe a remaster, but am on the fence for anything else. I'm not expecting a full reveal of any Gears project, but rather a series of teasers and tidbits of news for the future of the franchise. But as usual, I'm keeping a level head and going into June with the mindset that it's more likely than not that we'll see something, but it's not a guarantee. I'm excited, but keeping my expectations realistic. Hopefully we get something tangible and that will get the, ahem, gears running again on GOW content creation. Most Gears RUclipsrs have understandably either gone quiet or moved on to other IPs. I'd love to see the Tac-Com podcast get up and running again.
I was always against a Fenix Collection. I felt it was a waste of time. But I could see them doing a 30sec Gears6 tease followed by a Fenix Collection 2025 announcement - but only if it goes to PS5 (which would be left out of the Xbox show). It would be a decent flux of revenue and the lobbies would be full for longer. Gears6 2026 would be exclusive, and in-line with the show/movie releases. Just guessing though.

Bro def need fenix collection. It doesn’t make sense that they wouldn’t make one. One big reason is because of the MCC. They have a live example and plan to follow. I played halo 10x more because of the collection so a Marcus fenix collection would just revive the all the games. Make them more money and build hype for gears 6 or whatever else they have planned.
MCC also showed how massive of an undertaking the game is and how hard it is to get right. I'll also note that Gears is MUCH smaller than Halo, so player density may become an issue for a game of that magnitude. And it's not that I don't think a MFC would be popular, it's that I feel there's more impactful opportunities that TC would/should persue. But I guess the key questions are: - why do you want to see a MFC - How would you spend your time playing it? - what would you expect to be included?
@@TacCom Well Gears was on Par with Halo back in the day and was one of the biggest games on Xbox. Its only smaller now for the same reason Halo in small as well. New Devs are shit and everyone just forgets about the game. The collection would bring a lot of old players back as well as new ones, especially from PC. its win win situation. If they put on gamepass it would 1 million percent have a lot of players.
