As a fellow King main feeling the burn on ranked grinding: King is good but man, some of these other characters are just insane. So many of these other characters just get so many insane hurtbox shifting, tracking moves baked into their plus frame spam.
King benefitted from the throw buffs but man, he really can't dish back that same level of free pressure.
I feel ya bro. So hard to do technical throws like giant swing and such when so many characters are pressuring as hard as they do.
plus you cant knowledge check people with new moves, unlike most of the cast... its litterally t7 king with ffn2 buff and ch throws.
Neither can Feng. U gotta be skilled to use em
the fact that Ling, which has been known for years to be king's hard counter, is one of the most broken character in this game doesnt help either
@@billyhorchel5429Yeah people forget that just because Majin does it, doesn’t mean we can because people all over the world would read ‘Lil_Majin’ and instantly feel pressure or respect more than they would.
If you’re at the level of Lower ranks, King is easy to use up until Orange ranks and then the decline starts to happen
Man I’d love to see majin on stage at evo sometime again, not now but maybe in one or two years after mastering the match ups, that would be so awesome to see how he performs against other great tekken players
Yeah, he needs to go dark for 2 weeks or a whole month and just lab.

idk if ppl understand King is really not easy at all when you have so many characters that are constantly m̶a̶s̶h̶i̶n̶g̶ pressuring you like that Jun in the first set
Especially with heat into play… mashing combos are easier more user friendly for many characters our king feels a bit slower than tekken 7 and our heat grapple is useless
I feel the same about Nina
king and hwoarang feel like 2 sides of the same coin to me. they are one of the best online due to a requirement for lots of knowledge checks. but once you know them, they're about good to decent. i do have to say though, king is more menacing to me due to some of his throws having a break opposite of what you see. and i am a visual kinda guy, so its hard to rewire
Low level to intermediate level I think King is a menace but higher ranks for sure you need a lot of skill to play him he’s definitely not the most op character tho regardless

@4:56 that should have hit. King should be considered air born, and Capital Punishment should have low crushed. There is going to a lot of patch work needed in this game.
Yeah I just noticed that too lol. They need to fix that. Jun feels like she's still in her pre-alpha design phase. It's not just that she's good, but she's good in ways that don't make sense. I'd rather fight a hundred Dragonuvs in a row because at least I can side step him.

Some great matches again. It really does feel like a lot of that king utility was stripped from him in Tekken 8 from 7 that was your bread and butter. Those endless strings from other characters seems tough to tackle. Big props for working extra hard to get these matchups on lock.

@@user-ix6ic1bw2ithats true, but its pretty much because of his crazy heat smash and ffn2. without those, all his tools got nerfed across the board and even his rko is super reactable in higher ranks , so his new stuff isnt all that good either
Like the whole cast can do wall to wall combos cause of heat and some don’t even need it. Like yeah king can hit (grab) hard and do some same amount of damage but every body else can do effortless 60% or above so if they react to kings grab he really is struggling with the damage.

It's not so difficult to do. You need a small dash after 4, that's all. Similar to his Bnb T7 Combo. hopkick->4->dash DF4,...

Question for fellow King mains. A lot of people are ducking my throws. Is it possible to learn to crouch grab ducks on reaction? Or does it make more sense to mix in my hopkicks to catch ducking players?

King's "RKO" is good, until you play someone who knows what they're doing against King. But all you gotta do is mix them up with the 1 or 3 mid attacks when the opponent ducks. That's how you keep them guessing.

At 30:00 I had to slow it down to .25, she backs up. Even still she hit her lil power up so it wouldn't matter anyways. Also, at 37:15 same thing. It's not a bug. It's just the mechanics

Yeah it’s called damage scaling, it’s how fighting games prevent one combo being all it takes to KO someone.

I was killing everyone with king but i've reached a rank and i am losing most matches all of a sudden, its like i suddenly am only fighting really good people they avoid everything i throw at them...any tips?
Don't take this the wrong way but. It's a skill issue. It's ranked. The higher you climb the tougher the opponents are going to be. You can't have 150k prowess and think you're gonna be fighting 25k prowess players.
@@koibitothescrublord4977 Well obviously its a skill issue :) but it just happened suddenly, before this i'd find people i could beat easy, some even with me, and some i could not touch, which is what i'd expect, but suddenly i had like 20 opponents in a row ( which caused me to give up that day ) that just all beat me fairly easily. It wasn't like just a few tough players, it was night and day different. Surly the jump in skill should not be that extreme from just 1 rank to the next...i think i was just unlucky that day to get soooo many really good players.
One other thing is that the ranks are pretty deceiptive and some great pro players can still climb in the middle, if they didn't grind enough or started later. So you can fight blue rank who previously was a much higher rank in Tekken 7.

It's because they have smaller hitboxes. Not sure how Majin is able to get it consistently. Prob have to time it differently. If I find out I'll come back and edit 👍

To land the DF 3 4 on female characters you have to do a micro dash after the DF 2 1
Definitely very buggy, im struggling to keep playing sometimes because its just whiff city or a 5 bar that ends up lagging the whole match

The only way I know how to fight King is to blitz him. Good God he’s an annoying fight. I should probably learn at some point lol. So that way I don’t get my ass beat every time with chain throws.
My biggest gripe with Tekken was it was slowly stripping away character archetypes that was a staple of the genre and slowly turning everybody into a rushdown character. Now in 8 they gave everyone an armor move and a rush move. And now the lines between playstyles blur even more.
All players feel different bro even down to the bears. They want people to be more aggressive, which is good. No stalling and crabbing bc chip damage will kill you lol

@@starcraftnewbieBryan is mid range and counter hit focused despite how aggressive he seems. Notice how he usually gets counter hit launchers before he does anything crazy.

Yeah king feels pretty weak right now, the throw buff does nut compensate for stripped moves and all the insane buffs other characters got. King feels out of place next to all the animu BS going on during the match.
I feel like he has to rely too much on counter hits to set up any real damage.
