Man I’d love to see majin on stage at evo sometime again, not now but maybe in one or two years after mastering the match ups, that would be so awesome to see how he performs against other great tekken players
As a fellow King main feeling the burn on ranked grinding: King is good but man, some of these other characters are just insane. So many of these other characters just get so many insane hurtbox shifting, tracking moves baked into their plus frame spam. King benefitted from the throw buffs but man, he really can't dish back that same level of free pressure.

At 30:00 I had to slow it down to .25, she backs up. Even still she hit her lil power up so it wouldn't matter anyways. Also, at 37:15 same thing. It's not a bug. It's just the mechanics
idk if ppl understand King is really not easy at all when you have so many characters that are constantly m̶a̶s̶h̶i̶n̶g̶ pressuring you like that Jun in the first set
Especially with heat into play… mashing combos are easier more user friendly for many characters our king feels a bit slower than tekken 7 and our heat grapple is useless
king and hwoarang feel like 2 sides of the same coin to me. they are one of the best online due to a requirement for lots of knowledge checks. but once you know them, they're about good to decent. i do have to say though, king is more menacing to me due to some of his throws having a break opposite of what you see. and i am a visual kinda guy, so its hard to rewire
Low level to intermediate level I think King is a menace but higher ranks for sure you need a lot of skill to play him he’s definitely not the most op character tho regardless

Some great matches again. It really does feel like a lot of that king utility was stripped from him in Tekken 8 from 7 that was your bread and butter. Those endless strings from other characters seems tough to tackle. Big props for working extra hard to get these matchups on lock.

Like the whole cast can do wall to wall combos cause of heat and some don’t even need it. Like yeah king can hit (grab) hard and do some same amount of damage but every body else can do effortless 60% or above so if they react to kings grab he really is struggling with the damage.

King's "RKO" is good, until you play someone who knows what they're doing against King. But all you gotta do is mix them up with the 1 or 3 mid attacks when the opponent ducks. That's how you keep them guessing.

I was killing everyone with king but i've reached a rank and i am losing most matches all of a sudden, its like i suddenly am only fighting really good people they avoid everything i throw at them...any tips?
Don't take this the wrong way but. It's a skill issue. It's ranked. The higher you climb the tougher the opponents are going to be. You can't have 150k prowess and think you're gonna be fighting 25k prowess players.
@@koibitothescrublord4977 Well obviously its a skill issue :) but it just happened suddenly, before this i'd find people i could beat easy, some even with me, and some i could not touch, which is what i'd expect, but suddenly i had like 20 opponents in a row ( which caused me to give up that day ) that just all beat me fairly easily. It wasn't like just a few tough players, it was night and day different. Surly the jump in skill should not be that extreme from just 1 rank to the next...i think i was just unlucky that day to get soooo many really good players.
One other thing is that the ranks are pretty deceiptive and some great pro players can still climb in the middle, if they didn't grind enough or started later. So you can fight blue rank who previously was a much higher rank in Tekken 7.
Yeah king feels pretty weak right now, the throw buff does nut compensate for stripped moves and all the insane buffs other characters got. King feels out of place next to all the animu BS going on during the match.

My biggest gripe with Tekken was it was slowly stripping away character archetypes that was a staple of the genre and slowly turning everybody into a rushdown character. Now in 8 they gave everyone an armor move and a rush move. And now the lines between playstyles blur even more.
All players feel different bro even down to the bears. They want people to be more aggressive, which is good. No stalling and crabbing bc chip damage will kill you lol

Why is he always surprised when they don't break giant swing? It's literally a guess, like of all the throws to be surprised at why the one that can't be visually broken, the whole point of being surprised when ppl don't break is because they are reachable lol.
Because it can be visually broken. People persist to think that throw breaking is only a "see the hands" thing, while part of the visual cues lies also in the first frames of the animation of the throw. And as far as GS is concerned, it's recognizable. For confirmed player, they can also see that the range and the "two hands" differ from normal 1+2 throws.

Just rubs me the wrong way bc no way you're expecting that level of play at early blue ranks, otherwise its implying the move is easier to deal with than it actually is which is lame
