My DIY Boat Loader, Cartopping my Skiff Single Handed.

- With my DIY boat loader prototype nearly finished it was time to try it a few times before I reinforce welds and such. This is meant to be a game changer for me as it will allow me to take my boat to different waterways on my own.
It worked as intended although not as smooth I would like but definitely good enough for the job at hand. Getting the boat on and off the roof rack was really easy.

your design is the best I have seen. SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE NO ROOM FOR A TRAILER, THANKS SO MUCH.
Thanks Robb!
Or it means you can top 1 boat and tow something else as well. Such as caravan, or other big boat perhaps, if traveling.
Well, I was one of the naysayers. You've proved me wrong so far Theo!
I guess the real test is how easy it is to use /drive with etc which will be revealed over time. The aerodynamics look interesting, so I am sure you will pay attention to tying the bow down to the front of the car!
Hi,
I hope the angled bow counteracts the lift force from the curved bottom and it all becomes "neutral cargo"! 😁😅
It seems almost perfect Teo, probably you will be tweaking the design as time goes by with improvements. The car looks very nice with the boat on the roof! On a sunny day the car gets some shade.
Function over form. Brilliant !
Brilliant, so useful. Too much engineering for me, but it is an elegant solution for one person loading.
Fantastic. Another aspect where the square boat design lends itself to utility. I am jealous of your metalworking skills. The wood and fibreglass work of building my boat I managed ok, but I have no background in metalworking so this is out of my reach! You should patent it and get Michael to sell plans alongside the goose plans!
That Was Amazeing !!! .... you are a true inventor, Teo.
I have my moments! 😅
🙌👐🤲👐🤲👐🤲
Right there with Teo's level of attention to detail and price consideration.
Fantastic. gary in Japan.
Thanks Gary
Ha - that's awesome Teo!!
Thanks Dave
awesome build!
i have an idea for a little spring assist system that would make it easier to lift, but it would make the bars stick out a bit farther on the driver's side, like maybe 1-2 inches.
if you're interested just let me know and ill try to explain it
Thanks for sharing.
Really inspiring
Fucking genius. game changer.
That is bloody brilliant! Congratulations!
Thansk Ian!
As easy as 123 😊
A very good solution!
With all this heavy lifting hope you don't get a hernia. Try to exhale all the air you possibly can while lifting. This will put less pressure on your abdomen wall. Cheers!
very nice design!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Perfect boat and now ye make the perfect car topper!!
Thar's great!! Could you please do some closer pictures of the rollers? Thank you very much!!
Sure thing Marcus! 😉
Very nicely done..one of the best one's I've seen yet
Works nicely!
Brilliant !
Well Done Teo...Cabecinha pensadora...👏💪👏💪👏
😁😁😁😁
Tsk... winded with that one lift!!! I thought you were in good shape!
Nice little rack... well done Teo!!
I blame the heat!! 😅
Very very good!
Great design and build! Don’t worry about the aesthetics, functional prototypes are always rougher. 👍🏼👍🏼
yes... but there is nothing more permanent than a temporary solution or a prototype! 😅😅
Wow! Great engineering and super useful.
Thanks!
Outstanding solution 👍Two straps and your on your way. The rack might even be adaptable to a wall for easy boat storage off season. Take care and enjoy your days on the water.
Thanks! 😉
O resto é embelezamento, porque o sistema ficou 5 estrelas
Engineous! Pratical indeed. Very well done Teo!
Obrigado 😉
great solution! very smart and well done Teo!
Thanks!
Very clever design! Will you be marketing any plans? Glad to see you on the road again.
Thanks, not sure about making plans Paul. 🤔
Nice! Please sho a closeup of how the boat "hooks" onto the frame at step 1 please?
hi @NA-su3jk
At around 3:10 you can see it, it's just a straight piece of 3mm thick steel bar welded to the frame and carpeted. Since the frame it's at an angle it fits nicely under the gunwales and holds the boat.
@@TheBoatRambler thank you sir
Brilliant solution.
Thanks Paul!
Very innovative, well done!
Great design!
ingenious!
Nice!
Nicely done
Thanks!
Terrific.
😁
Easy peezy!
Tell me you are an "ingeniero" without telling me you are an ingeniero
😂
I hope you patented it!
would have no clue how to do it! All the stuff I created which has been patented was done by the company I worked for so the lawyers took care of it...
Excellent work! I take it that you strap the boat down to the car's roof rack afterwards?
That's correct Ben. I plan on using two straps to the rack and a third through the car (inside) just in case...
Well done! Looks like solid work! What interests me further: how is the boat hooked on the device?
Hi Gerald,
The boat is not hooked, it needs to be strapped down to the roof bars.
It is much safer than anything I could come up with.
@@TheBoatRambler Yes, but before you lift it, you hook it somehow to the device under the gunwales, what looks very easy. I wonder how you do this :-)

@@TheBoatRambler Ok, thank you, I got it :-)
Fucking.
Genius.
🇱🇹👍👍👍👍
Teo, have a look at this video for an alternative way of doing this that requires no strength. Different boat, and actually such a nice design as a tacking outrigger, but his way of everything fitting inside the boat & being car-toppable is quite interesting : ruclips.net/video/BgVJxDxq9IY/видео.html
Hi Steven, thanks for the link, very nice.
Very good bravo..!!!! **( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡° )**
