I can just imagine going to work in the morning with a forest at the bottom of the garden, and then coming back eight hours later, to find a golfcourse with a water hazard in it, embankments so smooth it looks like it was done with a trowel. Absolutely mindblowing what Chris can do with that machine.
Nice work. I also love your 2 new additions the the family. Looks like they both will be a great investment. Thank you CHRIS for the taking the time to share a part of your worklife with us all. Much appreciated Andy Australia

It is enjoyable watching someone so smooth on a machine. Watching you is like watching an expert fine grade man on a dozer. Thank you for posting good interesting videos.
We know you do have a life and do not like to upload vids everyday, but to watch on Thursday what you did Monday leaves us lacking 'new video'. Good clearing job and stradleling an old skinny dam - glad you dig not get bee stung.
The peninsula is a maintenance nightmare. If you are willing to keep it properly cleared and mowed, it's great looking, but generally islands and pinensulas are so annoying to deal with they are allowed to go wild and in a few years look like crap.
Well Chris things are starting to shape up around that pond it looks like it’s a pretty good size pond and you got your work cut out for you fixing that Breach in that dam, but anyway brother another great video and you and John and your family stay safe and keep the videos coming
Chris I wish I could get out and do that kind of work again but I can not so I am glad that you do it and let people watch as you do it my hat is off to you my friend.
When we were outside at the back of your excavator admire how well you have kept that from been scratched up it looks great.. i’ve been a little bit scared on top of that little narrower pond dam. Enjoyed your video
Chris and his 220 VOLV0 a great power. This work is a gigant task. What i sea to the video is the dam from the trees roots possible not thick. And all another works ar hard to make. However you make this very good. The video is grand. Greeting 🇦🇹👍
Love the contents of your videos what would be interesting is for you to go back and have a look at some of the jobs that you have done over the past year or so to see what they look lime now, keep up the good work.
Good job, I push trees over daily and have learned for a few reasons to never have the door or windows open.. swarming bee hives, I have been stung many times as bees love to make hives in pine trees, had a swarm that thick on the cab window last week could hardly see out of it.
A good sized decent machine, with a good operator, sure makes this look easy. I watched the renter of the farm just South of my house, struggle for near 2 weeks with a wore out good sized Deere excavator with a mechanical thumb, try to remove trees and brush from a couple miles of line fence. He even had 2 helpers running a chain saw for the big trees and a grapple on a skid loader to move brush.
You said the two best words I want to hear when I did the few ponds I did on the ranch and my last acreage. The contractor would ask how deep do you want the pond?? I would answer “Very Deep”!! Hahaha. I always wanted trout in them except for drinking water. We were able to eliminate the use of our last pond we used for drinking water quite a while ago so that had small trout in it as well!! Haha. The kids, nieces and nephews, crews’ kids, and a lot of adults enjoyed even fishing for the little ones. It was private stocked and private land so they could keep whatever they could use. Nothing like a nice little 12” trout fried in a cast iron pan with butter and onions, carrots, whatever and done over an open fire! Anyways. Like I said, Very Deep!! Haha.
I was about to comment on this. Just being able to grab, pull and stack saves a bunch of time and work. Even the trees seem to break easier than the last job.
A small but noisy part of my brain really wants to put giant googley eyes on your the sides of your excavator bucket, so it looks like a metal dinosaur grazing as you work. I know... I'm bonkers.
Wow, I can run a back hoe or an excavator. I am sure a lot of folk can "Run" one.. You sir make it so organic and smooth that its hard to believe thank you for sharing skills
It was either a Cattle Egret, or a Snowy Egret, the Snowy Egret is slightly taller, and more slender than the Cattle Egret, and it has a black bill, an adult Cattle Egret has a yellow bill. Now get back to clearing, and digg'n brother! Source: all about birds.
Is that the 260? Question, what is the going hourly rate to rent one for 3 days? is the rent predicated on the hour meter or the days you have it on the job site? I'm getting an urge to dig a small pond on my land in the country. Does the rent include the cost of transportation to the site?
Turtle looked up, seen the Volvosaurus coming & thought, "Oh shit, run forest run!"
😂😂😂
That’s some pond dam Chris!! Looks a lot better now it’s cleared! Looking forward to the next video!! Graham🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍👍
Yup, sounds a lot more efficient without that annoying loss of charge air.
For the Families getting a New Pond dug, it has to be very exciting to see you making progress.👍

Wow, I can't believe how fast trees grow there! Now I can see where the old pond was. Love your pond creating videos!
Owner said "give me my pond back" and it looks like you have already given him a good chunk of it...
And a deep one at that ! Bass territory !
Amazed at how easy these trees are coming out. Will see what rains you get out of Elsa!! Time to burn!!
Yes, taking the weekend off by doing your job, just for yourself. Makes perfect sense!
Can't wait to see the burning! Love hearing the crunch of the trees! Can't believe how high that pond dam is! Good job as usual Chris!!!!
Nice work. I also love your 2 new additions the the family. Looks like they both will be a great investment. Thank you CHRIS for the taking the time to share a part of your worklife with us all. Much appreciated Andy Australia
Hello Chris! Glad you were able to do whatever you wanted to do over the 4th of July Weekend.👍
I wish I could work with someone like you. Your an absolute inspirational guy.
Now we know how Chris spends his free time after he has been working with the excavator all week, he is playing with a small excavator.
Downsizing!

It is really fun watching a professional operator run a machine like it's an extension of himself. And this Volvo is a BEAST!!!!!
I like the 220 'cause you can pinch 8" trees right in half, it's cool the power it has.
Looks awesome Chris and yes watch out for those ground hornets.
you needed strawberry shortcake on the pond dam.
we gotta keep that name alive.

He said Monday. I thought, is today Tuesday. Hehe.
Chris I really like your Yanmar with shredder, cool man. But this super Volvo is the fabulous power lifter !!
Now Cris need an adaptor to use in the volvo
@@alysongr He should get a disk head like Logger Wade’s
You are a master at operating the Volvo. You make it look so easy.
I’ve been waiting for you to come back on this pond video and hoping I didn’t miss out on seeing it Chris
To me, the pond with the little peninsula, looked nicer and more interesting than just the puddle that it looks like you are intending to build
You'll think different when its finished
The peninsula is a maintenance nightmare.
If you are willing to keep it properly cleared and mowed, it's great looking, but generally islands and pinensulas are so annoying to deal with they are allowed to go wild and in a few years look like crap.
After watching a vid last year where Chris restored a pond that had a peninsula in it, I’m surprised anyone would build one!(he took it out)
great thursday new LETSDIG18 VIDEO
Yep looks good with the trees cleared bro, hope you leave enough water for snappy. Safe travels
I love to hear when you snap the trees off
Love the video on this Dam or pond ,
Awesome machine. You command it beautifully.
Well Chris things are starting to shape up around that pond it looks like it’s a pretty good size pond and you got your work cut out for you fixing that Breach in that dam, but anyway brother another great video and you and John and your family stay safe and keep the videos coming
We're north of you, two days of heavy rain. Braver than I am, I'd use the mini for the pond dam. Can't wait to see how this one turns out.
glad you was able too take the weekend off and stay at home. you work hard enough too deserve it.
He can pull those trees as easy as you can pull a carrot out of sandy soil
Chris I wish I could get out and do that kind of work again but I can not so I am glad that you do it and let people watch as you do it my hat is off to you my friend.
Good job so far ✅ looks like it will be very nice when done. 😎👍
Time to bring in " The Strawberry Shortcake Munch-A-Lot"
To me strawberry shortcake is just a little bit too much for the Mini, lol I would call it a little red Are Shorty. Lmaoooo but anyway it’s all good
When we were outside at the back of your excavator admire how well you have kept that from been scratched up it looks great.. i’ve been a little bit scared on top of that little narrower pond dam. Enjoyed your video
I wouldn't have been a little scared.:-)
Evening all from the UK.
Howdy

I’ve see a couple of videos of ponds that he’s done but not a lot. Fun to see them after filled and up and running.
The more commentary, the better. I like to know the why behind the work. The videos are great, keep 'em coming.
Good job, I push trees over daily and have learned for a few reasons to never have the door or windows open.. swarming bee hives, I have been stung many times as bees love to make hives in pine trees, had a swarm that thick on the cab window last week could hardly see out of it.
I’m amazed at how Sandy your dirt is ( we call it soil here in the UK 🇬🇧) nice vid ,cheers 👍
Awesome footage 🙂
I was wondering if you were going to re-core the dam . No telling what's there now. looking good :-)
Egret....white bird was an egret. Love the channel!
You cleaned that up well.
A good sized decent machine, with a good operator, sure makes this look easy.
I watched the renter of the farm just South of my house, struggle for near 2 weeks with a wore out good sized Deere excavator with a mechanical thumb, try to remove trees and brush from a couple miles of line fence. For several videos now I was going to ask why the 220 sounded like an air compressor with an open hose. But now we know why. Sounds much better!
Your new mini and mulcher would probably be great for the back side of that dam.
Should have gotten plenty of rain today! We got @5” last night down here in the Lowcountry SC
The white bird looked like an Ibis.
I hope they tracked good dirt in on that dam. That is a tall dam that’s gonna hold back a lot of water
Looks great Chris 🇺🇲 another great video and well done Job 🇺🇲
Nice job Chris
This dam is a perfect christening for the new Yanmar
I think the bird might have been a Little Egret Chris.
Thanks for a great video. I have been enjoying all your video's. 😀🇨🇦
Thats a great job done now I can see the dam 🥰👍
I could not even imagine that it would look like that before it was cleared.
I look forward to the fire, and also the digging and grading, the bottom of that thing is so uneven it *bugs me*.
Uneven pond bottom is good for fish.
@@fhuber7507 True enough, just my inner perfectionist going "make it flat" :P
Greetings from Florida,
Hot 🔥and humid.
White egret was the bird. There are the white ones and there's a dark one like a grayish blue color. 👍
I wonder if Chris talks to himself with no GoPro in the cab. I bet he does.
Thus the reason for all of his videos being so great.
Looking good, lots of work ahead cant wait to watch.😆
Always liked you're channel, very entertaining 👍
This intro 🙂
One of these days I’m going to come down there and take you on a date

Great footage of that dam failure
Great White Egret 👍
Remember over the winter you started a pond building project but the haul truck kept getting stuck. Is there an update on this project?
going back there soon
My anxiety was killing me when you was working on top of that Dam....
That machine is awesome. And the way you run it looks like you are using your hands.
you should leave a little water for the critters.....😀
White bird was possibly a cattle Egret.
Good video, love watching the Volvo Destruction! 🚜🪵👍🏼🇱🇷
Great video Chris.
Looks like Godzilla attacking the tall trees.😳
I couldn't keep the wheels of a SKATEBOARD on on the narrow crest of that old pond dam, Chris. 🤯
Good days work Chris 👏👏👏👏🇬🇧👍🍺
Love watching all ur videos especially the ones where you rip down buildings and tear down trees
2:02 that boys and girls is the money shot.
Great start to new job
Glad you had a nice holiday Chris.
The white bird at the beginning looked to be an egret. Yes, they are fish eaters.
Could you re core behind the existing dam and move it back?
Dont you wish all the dirt shook off roots like on this job!? No wasting time.
I was about to comment on this. Just being able to grab, pull and stack saves a bunch of time and work. Even the trees seem to break easier than the last job.
In Florida we dig ponds with Draglines... The water is clear for a long, long time
Will you have to cut a key way were the hole in the dam is?
A small but noisy part of my brain really wants to put giant googley eyes on your the sides of your excavator bucket, so it looks like a metal dinosaur grazing as you work. I know... I'm bonkers.
The White Bird is an Egret
I bet the tree huggers love you! Lol
Wow, I can run a back hoe or an excavator. I am sure a lot of folk can "Run" one.. You sir make it so organic and smooth that its hard to believe thank you for sharing skills
Love a nice deep pond. I was just enjoying this video too. Too short! I demand satisfaction! lmbo!
I can't see how someone would ever build a pond dam that steep. An ounce of common sense would tell you its a bad idea. Must've been a home project.
That white bird near the beginning of the video looked to me like an Egret, a smaller version of a Heron, known for it's preference for fish.
Is that the 260? Question, what is the going hourly rate to rent one for 3 days? is the rent predicated on the hour meter or the days you have it on the job site? I'm getting an urge to dig a small pond on my land in the country. Does the rent include the cost of transportation to the site?
You had a expensive weekend with a new toy and a attachment. 😆
Damn man. You could park the titanic in that pond. Hell ots gotta be 15 feet deep right there in that corner
That could be quite the job 😎
Looks great 👍
