Loving the series man, the first Spanish band that I got into was Baron Rojo. I'm surprised that you didn't mention them because they were big in the 80s, and of course the early material is their best ;)
Hi John!!1 cool to see now the spanish bands...... there a lot i know by name like Mago de Oz or Avalanch and even the new one Angelus Apatrida a great modern thrash band. More bands from the 80's hey days of cour se Baron Rojo, Obus, Evo a kind of obscure speedy with a cool record "Animal de Ciudad" a couple of modern ones Frenzy and Hitten. cheers and be well
On April 25th, Swiss folk/melodic death metal act Eluveitie will be releasing their ninth album, Anv, which will be their first album since 2019's Atengatos and their first with new fiddle player Lea-Sophie Fischer, who joined last year.
I know Angelus Apatrida. I'll have to check out the rest. My favorite current Spanish group is definitely Iron Curtain, a Speed/Thrash/Heavy Metal band. Think Exciter meets Motorhead.
If you are into death metal you have these bands: Golgotha from 1992 and still active, Avulsed from 1991 and they will release a new album in March, Bloodhunter from 2008, with a female growler. Wormed, brutal death metal from 1998 and they released a new album last year by Season of Mist. Check also Diabulus in Musica, a symphonic/power metal band from 2006 and their last album was released by Napalm Records.
@@jcrockandmetalreviews These are the best avalanch albums: "el hijo prodigo" is the album with the most direct songs; "los poetas han muerto", is a very introspective and progressive album; "el angel caido", released in 2001, is is a power metal masterpiece; "el secreto" is one of avalanch's last albums. It's a concept album. Combines all of avalanch previous styles and introduces even more. This band is, by far, the best spanish band ever and one of the best bands ever. Thanks for listening :)
@@jcrockandmetalreviews Please listen to the best albums of avalanch. They are really varied: "el hijo prodigo", "los poetas han muerto", "el angel caido" and "el secreto".
Mago de Oz has some really catchy stuff on that latest album. If you like Angelus Apatrida, you need to listen to the song "Sharpen the Guillotine". Probably one of the catchiest thrash songs i've ever heard. Dark Moor I liked all the way up to the Tarot album...then they fell off for me.
That thrash band is killer. I forgot the name though. Aftermath is the album title.
Yeah, I know which one Angelus Apatrida

Yeah, I've heard of them. I can include them in the next one.
@@jcrockandmetalreviews Herencia Letal is one of their best tracks ever. Proto Power/Speed from 1983 \m/

Thanks. I am going to make a list for the second part for next week.
Really nice series. Ankor is a Spanish band that caught my attention lately.
Thanks. I'll keep them in mind.

Mago de Oz and Dark Moor were the standouts as I know them. The rest I need to check out.
Yeah, there were a few good ones here.

Cool, I'll keep them in mind for the follow-up.
As well as Angelus Apatrida I'd recommend the following Spanish thrash bands -
Holycide
Extinctcide
Vatican Spectrum
Killdozer
Good picks. I'll keep them in mind for the next episode.
