Hilda- Assassinated and crucified by Team Plazma, in order to gain control of Reshiram/Zekrom for the events of B/W 2. 3:52 Calem- Forcefully turned into new life by Xerneas. Serena- Drained of her life due to temperance with Yveltal. 3:53 Selene/Elio- Poisoned and torn to shreds by Nihilego-infused Lusamine. Love the theories, but I think Ethan died from the cold in mount silver, explaining the empty eye sockets (and the missing limbs might have been cause by wild pokemons eating his corspe ...yikes)
I like how the entire time he was projecting his hopelessness onto boyfriend but by the end seeing how boyfriend survived the perish song and how determined he is realizes it and tell’s boyfriend to keep fighting because he is different from everyone thats fallen before him
The anger in Gold's voice during the No More part will never cease to amaze me. He's basically saying how life is hopeless no matter how much we weave it, and at the end were he realizes that BF knows that his fate is written he still fights and he admires that and tells BF to basically dream on, I love it! another banger w/ lyrics from Juno

I like to think that No More is gold's last gasp of life, bleeding through his Unown puppeteers, seeing as, as you said, there's true passion there. He's not calmly singing, he's violently screaming. And that ending. Those last 4 bars Are the most powerful in the entire song. Kudos to the Hypnos Lullaby team, kudos to the artists, the charters, coders, musicians, and above all, applause to Juno for making this masterpiece

I like that Juno expresses that 2:34 is the only line we get out of Gold in this whole video through the absolute agony in which "NO MORE" comes out which strikingly contrasts the pretty monotone inflection heard prior, and the similar tone it precedes. It really hammers in to me that Monochrome is a battle against The Unown, and has nothing to do with Gold. His only contribution to the song is to desperately beg for its end before being twisted and mangled even further beyond repair, just to be piloted by his puppeteers even more. Another amazing project from Juno, makes me re-appreciate this incredible song all over again 👏
The song is literally about Gold achieving more than any other Pokémon protagonist and him dying and being forgotten overtime why would the unowns sing about that

Fun facts about the song: As gold is listing all the games in the series in the song, pokemon gold is the only one out of order. Juliana's "bad ending" artwork is the only one displayed just once, everyone elses is shown at least twice. Dawn's "bad ending" artwork references another song in the hypno's lullaby mod, death toll, the only artwork to do so. Juliana and Serena are the only ones not wearing their signature head accessories. If you look closely during 3:49, you can see every protagonist's names in unown And that's all the facts I got

The context is probably that BF is now just like any pokemon protag. Iconic outfit,legendary battles,etc. The other protags are already dead to gold,and he is ready to claim another,but is convinced otherwise

My jaw dropped as Gold started naming Gens 6-9, and it proceeded to make like a Mega Glalie and snap off in awe when the gorey protags appeared aswell. Your Monochrome with Lyrics has already branded itself in my mind, and I say with no hyperbole that this is such an incredible extension.

Okay the “PERISH mix” part of this is unironically so good. I love how you can sort of feel his voice get angrier and angrier until he just starts like shouting and being like “WHY IS IT LIKE THIS MAN I HAD A LIFE AND THEN I JUST TURNED INTO THIS” and then the “yet you still fight on” being kinda like Gold realizing BF/The Player is determined to keep fighting despite him telling him stuff is pointless, so he essentially says “it’s too late for me, but you still have a chance, if you go down, do not go down giving up.” this is a FNF mod and yet i have this sudden burst of motivation

Gold singing an octave higher than originally, all the new art in that second half, and especially the animation as it simmers back down before the grand finish! I like to imagine Gold is making these mirages to warn BF about the few possible things that can happen to him once his time comes, and that makes it all the more eerie. You did great on this one, Juno!
That's what I think too! The unknown in each bad ending for the trainers make it apparent that these are illusions of what could have happened to the champions. While they enjoyed their fame, Gold/Ethan didn't get the chance to. That along with everyone forgetting about hi and his own legacy left him bitter. And because of that bitterness, he can't understand why BF would strive for greatness. This is why he sounds kinda angry at 3:48 and on. He knows that nothing matters once you're gone and everything you were will fade away through the sands of time.
And yet he is proud of him for not being fazed by the possibility of failure, almost like he is testing him Basically, even if you might die, keep playing Pokemon

I just recently noticed several cool things about the end section starting at 3:49!!!! 1. The Unown in the background are spelling out the names of the different protagonists 2. Ethan's name is last, which means that his name had to have a replacement when the Johto protagonists' names were spelled. This was done by making the two Johto names Kris from Crystal and Lyra from the remakes 3. The Unown in Gold's eyes spell out GS, like the GS Ball used to catch Celebi It's small details like these that show just how much effort the QUEEN Juno puts into these covers, and it makes me love this one all the more!!!!
The No More segment is absolute fire, the lyrics and references to the other Pokemon games are brilliant, and damn, those drawings of the fate of the other protagonist are also so damn good.
I really loved the detail of other pokemon game protagonists meeting the relatively same fate as Gold, especially the irony of Gloria and Victor being killed with a sword and shield. However, it's interesting to note Red did not appear once. It appears even in death Gold cannot defeat him. Fantastic work as always Juno!
I loved the original and this is even better than that! It still carries the same warning message that he - or perhaps the unown - are trying to give of being forgotten despite your deeds. Yet the listener - and bf - don't back down. The rising emotions through it especially as his body is discarded, eventually just dying off as what little flame he had left to rage against fate give way to a quiet hope: maybe this stubborn kid will leave a legacy behind that will last. Also it's very catchy and has fantastic references

I have to say, for some reason the image of Hilda crucified is the one who freaks me out the most, like in most fan art and in the manga (from what I've heard) she's always cheering and happy so the image of her basically giving up hope is haunting
The koraidon eating the scarlet protagonist as the one of the quickest flashes was a nice touch at the end and all the death scenes where done super well and how it only references gens past golds death well done
3:24 I love that he starts angrily screaming the lyrics Edit: one thing I don’t get is the tone change at the end. Don’t get me wrong, it sounds amazing…but if you follow the events chronologically from that week it shows Snow on Mt Silver, which is how Ethan died, then it shows Bf running into Silver and his shiny feraligatr, which then presumably attacks him, and before monochrome it shows a wide shot of Ethan’s grave, undisturbed from how it was in the lost silver creepypasta. Meaning Bf didn’t break in to battle Ethan…he’s dead too and was put in that same grave. He’s sharing a similar fate to all the regional champions.
Okay Juno, you always goes hard when editing and making art for videos but like holy shit did you go full throttle here, usually I’m not that squeamish when it comes to gore/scary imagery but like everything here (especially during Ethan’s/Gold’s encore like WOW.) almost got me. this was an absolute blast to listen to!

The sheer emotion that is brought to the table is only something I could hope to achieve in a lyrical adaptation. Simply well done, well deserving sequel to your most popular video.
Im a bit late, but it was thanks to this song that I realised just how incredibly lucky the protagonists are in their games. One thing wrong, and most of them could have ended like you portraited. Really makes you think of Pokemon adventures being worth it or not.

Dang, this hits just as hard as the original, as someone who fears death too much I always felt like the original expressed my worries, so the line at 3:49 hitting basically what I feel really drives this home and it's great.

The final stretch of Monochrome was always epic but the way Juno sings with his entire soul amplified this feeling. The art makes this even more intense with them all suffering

That new part with sun and moon, sword and shield, and all the other games had such a clever play on all the titles. I’d say I was impressed with how well they were incorporated them but knowing Juno he always does a fantastic job

N O M O R E . Once again, a killer performance, Gold has always been an interesting character in the mod to me. But unfortunately not much else about him or his condition (aside from the original creepypasta) are looked into. This is a good example of that. I especially love the small visual references to the other songs in the mod. I was initially pretty underwhelmed by the reduction of the voice effects from the original, it was really what in my eyes had made the hollow and arid delivery pop, giving it that dramatic feeling, but the line delivery in the finale here really made up for it greatly and put a new spin on everything! On repeat listens with my expectations in check, it's wonderful! All in all a great cover, very satisfying! Love all the art too!

The images flashing of trainers being contorted not only elevates the already-present horror distributed in Monochrome already, but highlights the message of Lost Silver itself. Death waits for no one. No matter how far you may run from it, it will always catch you. They did not heed Gold's message. They did not live their lives to the fullest, always one thing unsatisfactory to them. However, in passing his lesson on to boyfriend, he hopes that BF won't make their mistake and will spend his life to its fullest extent.

I like that Juno expresses that 2:34 is the only line we get out of Gold in this whole video through the absolute agony in which "NO MORE" comes out which strikingly contrasts the pretty monotone inflection heard prior, and the similar tone it precedes.
It really hammers in to me that Monochrome is a battle against The Unown, and has nothing to do with Gold. His only contribution to the song is to desperately beg for its end before being twisted and mangled even further beyond repair, just to be piloted by his puppeteers even more. Another amazing project from Juno, makes me re-appreciate this incredible song all over again 👏

I like to imagine Gold is making these mirages to warn BF about the few possible things that can happen to him once his time comes, and that makes it all the more eerie. You did great on this one, Juno!
That's what I think too! The unknown in each bad ending for the trainers make it apparent that these are illusions of what could have happened to the champions. While they enjoyed their fame, Gold/Ethan didn't get the chance to. That along with everyone forgetting about hi and his own legacy left him bitter.
And because of that bitterness, he can't understand why BF would strive for greatness. This is why he sounds kinda angry at 3:48 and on. He knows that nothing matters once you're gone and everything you were will fade away through the sands of time.
And yet he is proud of him for not being fazed by the possibility of failure, almost like he is testing him

I just recently noticed several cool things about the end section starting at 3:49!!!!
1. The Unown in the background are spelling out the names of the different protagonists
2. Ethan's name is last, which means that his name had to have a replacement when the Johto protagonists' names were spelled. This was done by making the two Johto names Kris from Crystal and Lyra from the remakes
3. The Unown in Gold's eyes spell out GS, like the GS Ball used to catch Celebi
It's small details like these that show just how much effort the QUEEN Juno puts into these covers, and it makes me love this one all the more!!!!
The No More segment is absolute fire, the lyrics and references to the other Pokemon games are brilliant, and damn, those drawings of the fate of the other protagonist are also so damn good.

Today was my brother's 18th birthday and he's loved the mount silver creepypasta, safe to say he lived hearing this cover, thank you Juno.
I loved the original and this is even better than that! It still carries the same warning message that he - or perhaps the unown - are trying to give of being forgotten despite your deeds. Yet the listener - and bf - don't back down. The rising emotions through it especially as his body is discarded, eventually just dying off as what little flame he had left to rage against fate give way to a quiet hope: maybe this stubborn kid will leave a legacy behind that will last.

Edit: one thing I don’t get is the tone change at the end. Don’t get me wrong, it sounds amazing…but if you follow the events chronologically from that week it shows Snow on Mt Silver, which is how Ethan died, then it shows Bf running into Silver and his shiny feraligatr, which then presumably attacks him, and before monochrome it shows a wide shot of Ethan’s grave, undisturbed from how it was in the lost silver creepypasta. Meaning Bf didn’t break in to battle Ethan…he’s dead too and was put in that same grave. He’s sharing a similar fate to all the regional champions.

I’m a bit late, but 3:25 - 4:01 slaps harder than any other FNF song with lyrics I’ve heard. I love the growls on lines like ‘lies at the end’ and ‘crumble one-by-one’, it really adds to the feeling of torment and unbridled rage that the Perish Mix has.

Once again, a killer performance, Gold has always been an interesting character in the mod to me. But unfortunately not much else about him or his condition (aside from the original creepypasta) are looked into. This is a good example of that. I especially love the small visual references to the other songs in the mod. Almost as if Gold and the Unown are haunting the whole thing, it's oddly fitting given the popularity of Gold's design and song. Well done Juno. Please, continue to go not silent in the night.

The beginning made me think this would be mid, but the last part came by, and I quickly changed my opinion.
I was initially pretty underwhelmed by the reduction of the voice effects from the original, it was really what in my eyes had made the hollow and arid delivery pop, giving it that dramatic feeling, but the line delivery in the finale here really made up for it greatly and put a new spin on everything! On repeat listens with my expectations in check, it's wonderful! All in all a great cover, very satisfying! Love all the art too!

What’s most disturbing is that everything gold says is true, time will eventually erode everything away until existence itself disappears, but that should be what pushes us to achieve what we want in our lives, knowing we ultimately have one massive opportunity to find the closest thing to a happy ending, but many like gold gaze upon such truth with sheer despair knowing no matter what they do it matters not in the end
The images flashing of trainers being contorted not only elevates the already-present horror distributed in Monochrome already, but highlights the message of Lost Silver itself.
