  • Hy There,
    Speed 1.25 work just fine i think if you want to save minute or two
    I already make a few video about RC hydraulic and see, that there is preatty good interest for that kind of video, so i decided to make a new video about how to make rc cylinder without cnc machine, maybe the video is too long, but i want to explain as much as i can so everyone with a chep small lathe can make his own rc cylinder.
    But at the same time if you got a bigger lathe, just multiply the measures and you can make a real cylinder for your tractor, excavator or any other tool, Main concept is tottaly the same.
    And here is the video about how to make valve:
    • How to make RC hydraul...
    If you got some questine fell free and ask it into comment.
    If there will be enough interest (comment) i will make that kind of video also for "how to make rc hydraulic valve only with minilathe"
    i also planing to make a hydraulic pump but still looking for more free time :)
    material i used:
    -12/13mm brass tube
    -18mm brass round rod
    -13mm aluminium round bar
    -4mm steel rod
    -6mm brass round bar (optional)
    -4mm hex round bar (optional)
    -4x1 o ring
    -10x1 o ring
    -11x1 o ring
    -M3 self lock nut
    -M4 nut
    -threadlock
    Plans you can find there:
    (there is plans in jpg photo and original plans you need google layout 2015 to open it)
    drive.google.com/open?id=12f5...
    My other hydraulic videos:
    • RC Snow Plow on Traxxa...
    • RC Hydraulic cylinder,...
    • RC Snow Plow with hydr...
    • Traxxas summit RC Snow...
    • Rc hydraulic system op...
    • First test RC model hy...
    Thanks for watching.
    Hope you enjoy in video and welcome to watch my other channel:

      Disagree. NEVER attemp to use an endmill in a drill chuck like in this video. Use a proper endmill chuck. Drill chucks are not designed to work with radial loads that appears during milling. Some day, the mill or the entore chuck will fly away from its arbor...and you don't want to be there if this happens, believe me.
      Not talking about any kind of precission. You just can't pretend be in this hobby if you are not willing to spend the money in some basic stuff.

    • @TinC33
      @TinC33  6 лет назад +4

      Diego Viana Villegas true but for small work with endmill i just use basic chuck because it's fastest way, if i mill more i put out the chuch and use mk3 cone for mill i got from 2mm to 20mm.

      I have a question though. I took a quick look at the rotary valves and while there is an O ring around the unit, there is no rubber seal between the ports. How do you keep fluid from going between the brass disc and aluminum body?

    Thanks so much! That was an excellent video, and I have just subscribed to your channel. You explanations of what you did and _why_ are very valuable. I also liked how you had a little cross-section view of the part you were making down in the corner of the screen, so we could understand what the final part looked like while it was being made. Many RUclips machinist make the mistake of just filming what they are doing, without telling viewers what they are thinking, before and during the part making. Good job!

    If you don't have a milling machine or CNC you can also put a mill in your lathe's chuck, then install the part you want milled on the tool post holder. A plate is best (like an L profile plate, for example). You won't have an axis, so you have to install the part where you need it to be cut, but, you'll have the option to mill flats, which is more than you had before.

    • @TinC33
      @TinC33  6 лет назад

      aserta true

    • @rascallhunter
      @rascallhunter 4 года назад

      To take this a step further, if you mount the L plate directly onto the cross slide, then mount the compound slide to the vertical leg of the L plate, you now have your third axis. Best bet if you are using an angle plate (L plate), if there is going to be any heavy milling done, you may want to brace it to keep the vertical face perpendicular to the lathe spindle.
      An alternative is to find a milling attachment for your lathe (Taig and Sherline both sell such attachments for their lathes, other manufacturers may as well). This is what I have for my Taig lathe.

    Hi. That is an amazing scale hydraulic cylinder, and although the video is quite long, it is definitely NOT boring. Everything explained beautifully. Off to check your other videos now, and most likely subscribe. Thanks for sharing.

      @tintek33 are you planning more "how to" videos about making RC hydrolic parts? Do you think it's possible to make them smaller?

    Wow, very nice, was lookig for this. Great job. But when you say “easier then you think” well.. i dont know that yet. Seems very precise and skills needed to make this. I will try it someday but wished i could make this one day.
