I love watching these R/C videos. The skill of the pilots is amazing. Sometimes I watch crash videos, which show expensive R/C planes getting destroyed when the servos stop responding to pilot commands. For some reason, this happens even with the best transmitters. I don’t know why. Anyway, they could make a parachute that automatically deploys when the R/C servos stop responding. So the pilot wouldn’t have to sweep-up his plane with a broom.
It's not the transmitter causing the problem. The servos are actually very small motors attached to a mechanical linkage. Just like any piece of mechanical equipment, they can fail. Something gets stripped, the motor burns out or jams, the linkage breaks and down comes the plane. It's a fact of life in the RC aircraft hobby; it's not a question of if you crash, it's only a question of when! :)
many thanks luke, im afraid the two crash vids ive uploaded contain all the footage i caught in 2022, so youll have to wait and see what 2023 brings im afraid !
Love watching landings more than the flight itself,as a pilot's skills are really on display. The electric models seem to have an edge here, with instant response to power adjustments.
Certains atteros tirés par les cheveux Mais il y'avait des pilotes expérimentés et ils savaient les rétablir pour assurer en final des approches avec des pilotes moins expérimentés les zincs auraient été au tapis ..... bravo
yes it is pete, if the undercarriage collapses on a tarmac runway the model will get ground away as though it was on rough sandpaper and cause a lot of damage, grass is smooth and slippery,
They were all good landings (considering they could use the plane again). Not all of them were awesome and many of the approaches left something to be desired.
@@tbobborap1 guess so. Just so many landings of this model where people don’t get it. If you chop the throttle and hold off on most warbirds they bounce! Worst conditions that day, down hill and very little wind.
Hi. I'm the mean man who constantly clings to landings. Here you can see very well what I keep repeating. Grown boys can finally buy/build big models, but many of them still lack the technique. Or in understanding what landing feels like. And the size of the pilot's belly or his acquaintances with the filmmaker are of no importance here. They haven't learned anything. And they will keep smashing their expensive models. It's just that maybe half only know how to land.
I love all warbirds 👍😍
I love that the Yak have a new, Ukrainian, paint job. 💚
yes 69 in support of those poor sods

Good piolets here, enough experience to tap down to get the wheels rolling before dropping all the way down!!!
cheers tom

As always, Pete, a great video. Yearning to get back on the sticks over the break, if weather permits. Cheers from one fabby to another.

5:18 How passing plane's wake ruins an almost perfect landing.
no i dont think so angelum, the wing stalled because it was too slow
@@tbobborap1 Look that up again at 75% speed. The passing plane push on the throtle hits right on time. He was already on the ground btw.

Is it better for the planes to land on the grass rather than the runway ?

My response too. Some were good, some were marginal
