Pepe's Towing provides excellent professional towing services. This lawsuit sounds like revenge for the lawsuit that went the other way. The courts should be aware of this abuse by that jurisdiction and squash this ridiculous lawsuit.

So, they won a corruption suit against Riverside county so the same county files criminal charges against the towing company. Did you cover the results of that action and I just missed it? "what happened to Pepe's Towing"? They continue to grow.
So Pepe's ended up getting a settlement against the City of Riverside, CA and all the other allegations of their activity the city was looking into were dropped. Manny basically took the matter to Federal Court. He walked into court with all the receipts of 20 years of the city violating anti-compete laws and granting tow companies exclusive "grandfathered" contracts without re-bidding them. He also showed that the City would position certain specific minimums on its tow companies to ensure that smaller tow companies could not get city work. However that most of the existing contractors failed to meet the criteria specified by the city and that those violations were just repeatedly ignored. They also showed that mayoral campaign contributions from towing companies were also sizable whenever the towing company contracts or regulations came up for review. The City made several attempts to have the lawsuit dismissed on various grounds. But then just prior to Federal Judge Larson's ruling the city decided to settle the case. So the City was forced to pay Pepe's $1.3 Million in damages over the lawsuit fees the end of 2020. The Judge was quoted as saying that Mr. Acosta and the communities of Riverside were clearly were impacted by political corruption and that Manny Acosta is doing all he can to ensure that tow truck companies are treated in a fair and equal manner. So yeah its pretty much assumed the allegations were because Pepe's was making waves and the city was going to shake them down with charges if they didn't fall in line with the corruption. But instead they went head to head and won.

Do not know the ins and outs of court cases, graft, corruption etc, present from the top of any government down, do not really care. Just miss those rescue videos that I found entertaining
It was a pleasure dealing with Pepe's Towing. Prompt professional towing along with accurate detailed billing made my life as a local municipal fleet supervisor much easier. I dealt with all the other heavy duty towing companies through the years, Pepe's stands above them all.
For me pepe's towing service is the one service, i did watch a video where a lot of services refused to take the job and at least the call pepe's and they finished that job ... They are stil number one for me
Little context on California private property towing laws were required by law to redact the information of the person given authorization to remove the vehicle to protect their identity it's not to be given out to the car owner if you don't like that get the law changed
