Beautiful car. Replacing my 1994 Toyota Mark II, which I bought in 2002 and it served me well with zero issues. It recently met its end in a beyond repair accident. This Lexus is my first choice, second the Camry and third option the previous Crown. Buying in the second half of 2020.
Bobby, truthfully your explanation of the new ES 250 are so meticulous, proper, cultured and civilized. I'm very impressed with your detail explanation while making comparisons with other marques including continental cars. Bravo. Keep it up bro!
@Bish Bish first I didn't say this ES is a bad car & u started like I'm killing your whole family. Ahhhhh..... I get it now. when u are grown up, u want to be a Lexus salesman is it? Or die die want a Lexus so bad? My kinda of advise to u is go study harder or do some business that can make profits instead of show your emotional comments here. Then u may buy your own Lexus.
Hi bobby nice video...but to clarify, the es you reviewed comes with a 2.5 4 cylinder dynamic force engine with 8 speed auto box...wished this powertrain is in the new camry....good care nonetheless...i used to chauffered in the previous model es350 between dubai and abu dhabi on a weekly basis for meetings, and it is an awesome luxury car...especially sitting at the back.
You know what the ES is? it's a budget LS. Nothing wrong with that, at 330k it's a crazy proposition for someone who is looking for a LS/S/7 comfort without having to pay through their nose and suffer crazy depreciation.
I found my C-Class w205 suspension is too stiff.. how's the drive in ES250? Is it smoother than E-class? I'm thinking to upgrade to Lexus ES this year..
hey bobby...why your review is different from the other car reviewer in malaysia?i really like your super detail about the car that you are reviewing...why?could u tell me pls...???
Here in Sg we have the more powerful ES 350H which i think suits the car. For me why must Lexus give its buyer headaches choosing variantts of the the same car when u csn simply give them what they need in the first place. Its so confusiing choosing E200/E250/E300 or 520/530/533 when its practically the same car
Bobby often mentioned the wrong engine or even sometimes, gearboxes in his one take videos. Bobby, I know you have said before that you rather drive the car first and not read the specs first. But please please do it the other way round, this is a bad way while u make videos. You know it is as bad as like driving a V12 Ferrari, not realizing it is a V6 replica. You will eventually deliver the wrong message when you felt that it is not living up to your expectations. Other than that, still love your videos, keep it up.
Correction: you can recline the rear seats if you opt for the luxury model....I had tested this model as well as the g30..this car has the space, comfort and luxury ahead of its rivals.. pity the pace wasn’t there though.. so I went for the g30...:)
Interesting facts about the history of Lexus. Wonder if Proton will branch out to a Luxury line as their cars can be both luxurious and basic at the same time across their platform.
I've always thought that Proton has the potential to venture into luxury market. It was the same story with Hyundai as well, it wasn't a good brand many years ago, but look where they are now. They even created their own luxury division, the Genesis.
Pity they don't provide the other color trims for leather. I ve seen so many beige and walnut, or bamboo inlays. Really beautiful plus ES hybrids. Lexus is number 1 here for over 20 years trend on trend in initial build quality and reliability punctuated by the Koreans now and then for initial build quality. No mean achievement for Lexus - Toyota. Toyoda's grandson had gone off to a weird end with these plorarizing grills. His mistaken idea of 'personality'. You buy this car for luxury and cocooned serenity. Still a great value proposition.
@Bish Bish I am talking about the US market here with data from JD Power who have now pulled out from Malaysia and Consumer Reports USA which analyzes around 700, 000 cars a year. Both JD, Power and Consumer Reports are American. The data is initial build quality and reliability not just customer service in Malaysia. So they may not be biased if they place Asian brands on top. Lexus and Toyota however dominate reliability beating others trend on trend. By Korean I meant Kia which was ranked no. 1 a few times for initial build quality. BTW, no need for reference to smoking or getting personal thanks :)
@Bish Bish Patronizing too. You may ruin the popularity of this channel. You assume a lot. I have been touting Lexus and Toyota build quality and reliability against the Germans for a long time . This is not my channel for personal taunts as I respect the owners hardwork to build his brand. RUclips is self moderating and freedom comes with responsibility.
ES stands for Executive Sedan and this is the 7th generation and not the 4th. The ES is not to compete with the German 3 as they are all rear wheel platforms and the ES is a FWD platform. The ES was intended for the US market and its competition are the Buicks, Acura and the Impalas. The three LED headlight pattern was introduced in the 2013 LS 460 refresh and not in the LC500. Its not a full size tyre as the spare but a downsized one. The car is below 5m total length and is nowhere near the S class or 7 series length. The interior volume is almost as big as the current LS because there is a 2" wheelbase stretch compared to the Camry. I guess you understood the car once you sat in the back seat, the ES is not a 5 or 7 series competitor nor is it a drivers car like the 3 series, the ES exits because it's the ES! The door handles are NOT designed for the ES, they are taken from the LS. You have got the door trim conclusions the wrong way around.
The centre tunnel is the folding of the sheet metal to strengthen the underbody of a car. If it is just a flat piece of steel, it will be wobbly, if it is folded, it will be strong, same like paper. Because these are monocoque frames and not ladder frames with two strong H beams running underneath.
@@BobbyAngmalaysia If you want 300+hp to play with, you can either go the NA route, and pay more roadtax and get a smooth 6 cyl engine, or go the FI route, pay less roadtax, but face the possibility of higher maintenance cost due to running a higher stressed engine and the turbo. Either way, you have to pay to play. The 3.5 toyota V6 ( 2GR-FSE i think ) is extremely reliable, relatively unstressed, with both port and direct injection. Well worth the extra 3k plus roadtax over the 2.5l IMHO. 0-100 in about 6.6 second. I'm running the 2GR-FE and it is a gem of an engine.
@@BobbyAngmalaysia I tried the previous ES , the one immediately before this, the steering didn't feel as precise as let's say the bmw and Mercedes, when i go over some uneveness on the road, the steering went all over the place. The German on the other hand can hold its direction firmer in similar situations, but maybe this new ES has improved, must go test drive. I recommend people to go for a used GS 250 instead, the GS has that German feel, quite a significant difference.
I know it sounds so stupid and silly but couldn't avoid myself from wondering how it will feel to strap in an aftermarket turbo kit in this car. Hahaha....
as in 'Lexus'. but yeah .... Century is epic but not for everyone .... have you checked out the interior? looks the same as a 1970s boardroom in Japan.
Yup! 1970 with 21st century tech that basically sums up ‘Japan’s best’ like a 5-star Ryokan. The rolls can be said to be more Buckingham palace than 5th Avenue, a British best.
It is pity that Lexus forgo GS for ES, GS has an interior quality that decisively outclasses the 5 and E, but not ES.. sadly GS is too expensive to compete with the BBA. To me 5 series is too noisy. ES is about space and price competency.
There is always a...... BUT! 😂 😂And my goodness, almost 300k you get a LOW RES screen! And again I heard (from other clips) the infotainment system belongs to last century The design language of this car also does not match with it's status or price, the front bonnet cover line is still there. HAHAHA good one

This car is a major step up from the last generation. Absolutely fantastic design. Good review.
Previous gen slightly more comfy tho, because it was all out soft and wallowy. This one wants to be dynamic handling and ended up slightly mixed bag
Not really a major step up. The engine, transmission & infotainment system are old stuff. Besides are new I guess
@Bish Bish
Why so emotional in social media? U sound like a kid. Your dad own Lexus?

How is the sound quality of the Pioneer system in this car compare to the Merc E250?

How about compare with mer E class ? Which is nicer ?
hai bobby sorry can i ask how do u weight this car with the recon 2020+ toyota crown.. both around 200k+ in term of luxury & comfort..
Why do u keep saying 2.5 V6? It’s a 2.5 litre 4 cylinder NA, Dynamic Force engine with 8 speed auto. Which was what the Camry should have gotten here.
Duane Yeoh camry here no dynamic force
Tyran Lex exactly what I said
@@tyranalexis5199 LOL at dyslexia..

Make a Lexus RX video!
@Bobby Ang Between this and the new Camry, how much better is this?
Actually the triple beam headlights debut on lexus lx570
I thumbs up this video cause of that wraith

Since you have brought up the Rolls Royce wraith. Bobby could you review it ? I barely see videos talking about Rolls Royce.

Love the looks of it!
Isn't the engine the same 2.5 in line 4 as the Camry? I always thought the earlier versions of the ES were tarted up Camrys with a price premium.
Why does it have a centre tunnel when it's front wheel drive?
The centre tunnel is the folding of the sheet metal to strengthen the underbody of a car. If it is just a flat piece of steel, it will be wobbly, if it is folded, it will be strong, same like paper. Because these are monocoque frames and not ladder frames with two strong H beams running underneath.
Bobby Ang Actually its for the exhaust pipe routing towards the back. Corrugated strengthening is not the reason.
It’s not a 2.5 v6 lah!!!!!:-p
inline 4 cylinder lah
Haha... alamak the biggest mistake for a car review! GS uses V6, ES uses 4-cylinder. I bought GS for its V6, ES is never a sporty car...
Is this the premium or the luxury version
Its dynamic force 2.5 inline 4 instead of v6
yeah man .... i kept thinking of the Lexus IS 2.5 V6 .... lol
Bobby I always wondered why you never reviewed the RX
Yeah! Has been waiting for the RX for awhile!
Just never chanced upon it. That time when Lexus arranged that car for us, I was away.
There has been recon ones for a while now, anyway hope to see a review on it!!
Omg you were so true. Those apps in the Xperias were so crap
Next generation lexus IS is supposedly going to use a BMW engine, what do you think bobby?

but malaysians all dowanna pay roadtax

Yes not a powerful engine because there is another option for es300 & es350 but sadly not coming to malaysia.

Lexus has make a big mistake to put non v6 engine since Long ago. You are just paying extra money for a Camry.
Now it comes with dynamic force engine
Its feels like camry on a pay day
Yes.....bobby did it

It is just unfortunate that Lexus decided to kill off GS which is a much better car than ES
2.5 litre inline4 dynamic force engine
bbberyll Us in America gets the 3.5 V6 :)
Bobby got the engine spec wrong.. Not from carry down from last generation ES
