I just pulled my copy off my shelf. It has all the correct disks with the correct labels, the box has the old Funimation logo, and the disks are placed in one of those hinged flip-disc holders.
Crunchy roll is an abysmal dumpster fire of a company and honestly nothing should be purchased from them. The fact that 2 separate and functional distributors were absorbed into it is actually insane
This is a recent issue, because I bought my collection 9 set a few years ago and I rechecked it and there’s no issue whatsoever discs were labeled properly and it had the proper episodes. So this is a problem that happened recently, I don’t understand what’s going on with this issue.
Same here. It's also worth noting that my discs are in the flip-disc case rather than the overlapping disc case. That tells me that the misprints are from a more recent print run, so maybe buying Collection 9 used will increase your chances of getting what you paid for. But as Soundout's eBay search showed, there's no telling if someone else with this issue decided to resell their copy, meaning you don't know whether you'll get a correct print or one of the misprints. A terrible situation all around.
I can relate. I got a Blu ray of dude Party Massacre 3 and theres a glitch on the bonus disc where a promised bonus feature (a kill count about the movie) was not there (a big reason i got the physical blu ray), the manufacturer has announced a replacement disc being sent out but have been quiet about people who bought it thru a third party (like me) getting a replacement disc
There was one way through a box collection set 3 on amazon, but they have stopped selling those. I went to check my set and had the correct disc's in my collection 9 box.
That’s is absolutely unacceptable wow. I really hope they fix their customer service system because how is anyone supposed to get replacement discs for any of their products? They need to reissue the set correctly
Yeah, this is definitely a distribution problem, I've never seen a problem like this where you buy a new, sealed set from Amazon - only to have repeated discs from the previous set!
I had no idea set had an issue. I think around this time I took a break from collecting the sets and it just so happened to be my stopping point as I was going to pick up that set.
I bought mine in September 2023. I got the correct discs. The only issues I’ve had with these sets is some of them came with the inner ring of the disc cracked or the discs are scratched when I open them. I’ve replaced them as soon as I opened them.
Thanks for the timeline of when you got yours. That helps narrow down the timeline of this botched batch. I’ve had similar issues with the cases. Very easy for them to pop loose
For a moment I thought that you were talking about the water damaged set. Every version of Collection 12 that I purchased has water damage or something like it. Disc rot maybe, I'm not sure. I purchased it from multiple retailers at different times and most had the same issue. My first edition was the worst. The entire set has water-like spots on the discs. I've tried to clean them but it's almost like they're inside the plastic.
I purchased it years ago when it released. Everything is fine. One Piece Collection sets are evergreen, must've been a problem with a certain print run.
I have One Piece Collection 1-10 on DVD but I didn't know that they are the individual season voyages. The ones I have has flippers because my mom got them off of Crunchyroll and the flippers are better then the overlaid disc one because I get a bad feeling that the discs could get scratched. But I didn't know that Collection 9 had a problem. That means that if one of us get on ether Amazon or Target, then they'll have the issue like you had. But the one on Crunchyroll is the actual correct one. The one I have is the one from Crunchyroll but I haven't unbox it yet but once I do I'll give you a shout out. Also My mom got Collection 9 off of Crunchyroll before they were sold out. But don't worry they'll be back in stock on Crunchyroll.
Crunchyroll sucks, I started collecting these a few years back, since the merger they have slowed the releases so much. The dub is well into if not through Wano and the blu ray collections has been on Whole cake island since 2023. Also not like I care much about the dubbing studios special features but they haven't had any at all since they bought Funimation, so they really don't have any reason to draw out the physical releases like this.
9:34 Hey it’s me! You’re a better man than me, I just bought a used copy of Voyage One to get the episodes.
@@MrTanokki That’s honestly the easiest solution

@@Soundout12 What about Walmart? Does Walmart have the same thing with Collection 9 just like Target and Amazon?

Every since Sony bought Funimation, bought Crunchyroll and then bought RightStuf and merged them all into one company, things have been a disaster
@Soundout12 couldn't agree more. Thankfully my only interaction is discotek stuff. But damn does their stuff move quick outside of crunchy💀😭

Oh dang. That's not good either. I'll keep an eye out when I buy a collection 12
Wait, did I hear correctly that you would only want blu-ray and not the dvd's included? That's extra disc that can be loaned out.
It’s a shelf space thing more than anything. It’s not a big deal to me at all tho
How long has this collection volume been in print?

Not sure how many print runs since
@ Wish DVD/Etc. had print run markers on them like books.

It seems like you may have to actually go to the Crunchyroll HQ and complain to them in-person.
I would make sure to wear my straw hat if I do
I'm sorry that this is a problem and what a ridiculous run-around they put you through.
Thank you. I bought another copy on ebay that showed the correct discs
So hoping that it’s correct when it arrives
@@Soundout12 It's sad that you have to resort to Ebay to fix it.
They missed the chance to put Luffy drawing of Foxy's flag on the art of the box

As someone that has wanted to collect one piece and now it really turns me off.
The other 10 sets I have are totally fine. The best option with 9 is to find a second hand copy on eBay that for sure has the correct discs
