Love your resonator playing. Very well explained.

Like it very much. This is what I have been looking into. You sound very good. Love to learn the blues on the baritone. Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words. I really enjoy playing blues on a baritone too. Hope this vid helps with that goal. My next set of vids will all be for baritone and should be posted in a couple of weeks.

Hi Scott, thanks for the follow. On the strings they are from D’Addario and are the ‘Titanium’ EDGB set. I think the code is Ej87b. The Uke I use here is an inexpensive one but think these strings really work well and make the instrument play at its best. They have a really nice feel to them for slide playing too I think. Hope that helps. Tel

I like your style of teaching.
I turn down my high D on my Baritone Ukulele.
Do you ever tune in open G (dgbd) ?

Thanks for the nice feedback James. I like DGBD too and I do use it a lot particularly for country blues and clawhammer where I think it makes playing those styles a bit easier as well.

Very useful series of videos - thanks. Was the Beltona a special order; I didn't think they made anything larger than tenor ukes?

Thanks for kind words and glad they’re useful. The Beltona on the wall in this vid is a tenor I play in open G tuning but in some of the other vids I play a Beltona baritone in open C. It had the same size body as the tenor and the Bari scale length neck was a special request. Hope that helps?

Great playing and nice instruction.. as for the right hand..You got a picking pattern for the blues Part or is it just bottom string for the beat with thumb and the other strings as needed with Index?

Hi Christian, thanks for the kind words. Being honest my finger picking is not a a real strength for me so I'd love to be able to do a proper pattern but I tend to stick to beat with the thumb for a sort of montotonic base and play the other strings as needed.

What strings do you have on it? The video makes the G and D look like nylon instead of wound. Do you keep the standard EBGD strings on it and just tune them up/down?

Hi Scott, massive apologies as missed your question when you posted it! The string set was a standard low D DGBE baritone set retuned to CGCG with the D and G being wound strings. Hope this still helps!

I just tried the tuning, but I got scared at F# on the top string. So, I left that at E for CGCE. This is a nice tuning, too. I play it on the guitar as CGCGCE. Ok for blues, but very nice for folk. I also use Aquila strings, I wonder if your titanium strings handle the high G better than what I’m using. Anyone have an opinion on that?

These ‘titanium’ strings have held the CGCG with the top G but totally agree it does feel like a push in terms of string tension. I also use CGCE tuning which I think is great too. I play of lot of country blues in that tuning.

Must be the camera angle I’ve used as just an off the shelf Kala baritone.
