  • October 2022. Three years had passed since our last pre-pandemic trip to Perhentian. This was my 12th visit to Perhentian islands since 2003, but it was my first time making a proper video on Perhentian. For this trip we stayed 5 nights in Long Beach at Seahorse Diver guesthouse and Awatif House chalet.

    Masya Allah, reminiscing memories from my trip here with Imranzain back in the early 2000s😅
    Truly a lot has changed since then, and as it should.
    Wonder if Sundus’ spot is still there 😅. And that beach eagle too, not sure if he’s still alive though

      It was a blast imran. Perhentian remains a gorgeous paradise even after plenty of changes. Most of the photos I added on this video was the trip I went with you.
      Sundus closed down her dive centre (sunlight divers) and left the island years ago around 2013-2014, I think after that she migrated to another country with her family.
      The beach eagle is no more at the beach, the spot where the eagle used to be at, now becomes awatif campsite/chalet where I stayed for 3 nights. Most probably the eagle had died or had relocated to other habitat.

      Ikut peredaran zaman. Tak boleh buat apa. Tapi bilik budget masih boleh cari kat long beach.

    How many days minimum do you think we need to enjoy some sun, beach and snorkeling? So beautiful bro... I am thinking of driving there and maybe seeing a bit of Kelantan/Terengganu too. The food must be awesome.

      For me personally, at least 5D4N in perhentian alone. Longer is better of course. Because if you're going to do some snorkeling excursion, at least 2 days. One day for the usual 5 spots: turtle point, shark point, etc. And another day for the rawa, serenggeh, Tokong burung trip, or you can just pick one of those. If you wanna go fun dive, then another one or two days for that. The rest is for spending time at the beach la. Kalau in long beach everyday I snorkel off beach pun okay dah. So up to you how long you wanna spend there. One suggestion is do a road trip of coastal kelantan and/or terengganu. It could be for 3-4 days or 5-6 days, depends on your availability. The longest for one road trip I did was 11 days in 2019. Just moving from one area/district to another, starting from north to south. Could start from bachok or pasir putih in kelantan then turun to Besut, to setiu to kuala terengganu and even further south to marang, to dungun then finally kemaman. Staying just one or two nights at one location within that trip so that you could cover more areas/districts. It could be a bit of a hassle to move around within that short space of time at any one location, but I actually enjoyed doing this type of trip. Anyway it's only a suggestion lah because I know this style of travelling is not for everyone.

      You can check out the rawa, serenggeh excursion here. ruclips.net/video/qKnOJke5Co4/видео.htmlsi=xUETlhJU1GKxzhsU
      Didn't get to film the snorkeling at rawa island because my action cam battery died.

    Hi, Can you please suggest whether 21st October is a good time to visit Perhantian or the monsoons might have started. Second can tou please suggest the bus route from Perhantian to Langkawi. What time is the last ferry from Kuala besut to Perhantian?

    • @WanderingMunchers
      @WanderingMunchers  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@g10thkr hello there. Yes 21st October is still fine to visit perhentian islands, even though it is near to monsoon season on the east coast. Boat services will still be available before November.
      As for journey from perhentian to langkawi, you can take a bus from kuala besut or jertih bus terminals to alor setar. You can refer to the ticket counters at the bus terminals I mentioned above or you can check at online bus ticketing like easybook.com. From alor setar you can take a taxi or grab ride to kuala kedah jetty and then take a boat from the jetty to langkawi island.

      @@g10thkr as for the last boat from kuala besut, usually around 4:30pm to 5pm (most boat companies). But if you're late than that, you can always ask around some of the boat services at the kuala besut jetty as you could always find a boat service that still operate until 7pm.
