How do I get the controlls to work or how do I install your controlls? :O if I use the template I can move but cant interact as it says "press E" and only the move buttons work 😢

Quick tip with Fallout 3 or New Vegas. Those games have a history of being crash-prone in fullscreen mode. It's a lot more stable in windowed mode (or borderless if you have the borderless windowed mod). Hopefully that helps for using Winlator as well.

@@Soresu_68 most games have a popup that lets you mess with settings before it starts. You could also look for the games' ini file in the my games folder

After creating the Container, it doesn't let me start, it only appears Starting and returns me. Help me :(
Make sure your graphics driver is the right one for your device, just try them all, and also make sure you only have one drive. Dont try to make a new drive. Let me know if you get it to work!
So, I added Sonic and the Fallen Star, did your settings, set up a gamepad (That Works fine btw)
Made a shortcut and then tried to open the application (Not the steam version as there isnt one) but nothing happens. It won't even say it's starting. I even tried in the files itself.
Apparently this happens when either the wrong driver is selected or when the I talked was faulty. Try reinstalling or changing drivers to see if it loads.
actually very good video, you couldnt have explained it better, its a shame that winlator doesnt run internet servers though... i just wanted to play cs:source zombie escape, its top goty for me

For me it says that i need .net framework 3.5 but when i tried to download. .Net framework 3.5 the download took long and wasn't actually downloading.

Are you using the gog version of the game, and if so, are all the setup files located in the same folder as the exe?
Whenever i run and it says starting up, it takes me back to the containers screen, also do u have any reccomended websites to download games for this emulator
Did you add an additional drive in the storage options of the last page? Happened to me. Just leave the d drive as the only one if so. If something else, you might have the wrong settings selected for your phone. I think gog games .com is good.

The problem with winlator is that IT DOES NOT WORK ... I hate seeing all of these comments "omg so amazing!' and it just DOESN'T WORK. . Maybe the first version worked .. idk

I literally just downloaded version 1, and it's working. The new updated winlator does not work. Version 3.1 the one I tried the first time, isn't working only version 1

Is there anyway to alter the mouse cursor to have absolute touch controls? The original app winlator is based off of had it as an option, but I've been incapable of finding it within winlator's settings or input options.

Hiya, idk what's happening, this use to work but now, no matter how many times I install all this I keep getting unable to extract obb when I click on winlator, the worst thing is I've only see 2 people address this and no answer for it
One thing you can try is which application you're using to extract, like a file explorer app, and also try extra ting to a different folder, then copy/move to the correct one. Let me know if it works!
I've done everything but when I press the .exe file, why won't it run?

Does anyone know how to fix the problem with the black screen? I downloaded pathologic classic HD and whenever I try to load it, the screen turns black and kicks me off the container.

This happened to me one time when I tried to add an additional storage drive. Just leave the downloads folder as the only drive if you didn't already. Also, make sure the right graphics card is selected. Try going between turnip and virgl, and see if that works. Let me know if this solved it!

When I want to start the Syberia game a notification appears and says IMPOSSIBLE TO INITIALIZE 3D RENDERING I click on the exe file but I can't start the game, I don't understand the Syberia game it's not very big
Sounds like you might be using the wrong graphics driver

Hello, I'm planning to buy a phone for emulation, what soc would you recommend? Sd 8gen2, gen1 or dm 9000, 9200?
I think the sd 8gen2 beats the dm 9200 in all categories. The 9200 is really close though if money is tight. Check out red magic 8 pro. Pretty cheap for the specs. If you're emulating older games, even a sd8 gen1 would work honestly. Asus rog phones are also pretty solid.
@@Second_Wind thanks man, much appreciated 👍 right now it's either redmi k60pro(sd8gen2) or iqoo neo8 pro(dm9200) and the price difference in my country is 100usd(thats 20 percent cheaper) so perhaps 9200 would be a better choice.
@@johndemi7588 either seem to be a good choice. Although when I looked at the redmi k60 pro, the specs are the same as the red magic 8 pro, but the redmagic is 300usd cheaper. Between the two options you have, go with whatever is cheaper. Also, if you can find a phone with built in gamer triggers, they're great to have for emulation. I'm trying to play a game Zero escape time dillemma, and it runs well except for the fact that it's not rendering properly, all the models are black with no textures and I've tried changing the dx wrapper and direct3d but nothing seems to help, and I've also tried running Witcher 2 but an error pops up that says "unable to find a version of runtime to run this application", is there a way to fix either of these issues?
That's what happened to me when I was trying to run fallout 3. At first I was using VirGL, but then the author came out with update 1.1 that added support for the newer adreno processors with turnip. Maybe try switching the graphics driver?
It worka fine asside from the fact that the screen goes tiny in the top left corner. Any suggestions?

You might be installing on a drive that's incompatible. Make a new folder on the "D" drive, aka your phone's download folder. Also make sure the game is the gog version. Let me know if this helps please!
can you use external controller on it yet? It's quite dificult playing warcraft 3 moving the cursor with touch screen

As long as u can find the gog version online, just download the installer, put it in your downloads folder, and then run the installer inside of Winlator. Should work fine!
The dude Finn Dalby left a link to a website with gog games. Check and see if u can find it there maybe. If not, just look up free gog games and I'm sure you'll find a website that has it

Hello, I installed the game NFS underground2 on Winlator but it warns and says: Please insert Disc 2. Help me please?
I encountered this on PC before. Basically, you require the setup files in the disk to be mounted. Just mount the disk with a virtual disk tool (such as deamonTools lite). Then it should work.
This does, however, require you to mount the disk every time before you start the game. You'll need to do a but more googling to see how to get it working without having to mount the disk every time, if it even is possible to do so.
There might be missing files. Make sure you are installing the gog version, and make sure you leave all setup files in tact.

I am playing Mafia 2 in my winlator good fps no lag but after 2 minutes gameplay it's crash what's problem please tell me😢
Mafia 2 is awesome. I'm not sure exactly whats making it crash, but you could try clicking on all 8 of the CPU cores in the container menu. Also try changing the allocated ram/memory to 4096 instead of the 2048. If that's doesn't work, make sure you're playing the game on the lowest graphics settings to test it. Also, is there a specific part of the game that it always crashes at or something? Let me know!

It's night so im just gonna ask that my gpu is Mali G57 Mediatek how to fix black screen I try using the virgl but it didn't work how? It was just black screen and sounds but when it come s to software glitchy and laggy :(
@@Poverty09 u can try the basic software driver, but even if it runs it'll probably be crappy. If VirGL and tru up both don't work, you might need to install the Microsoft vc++ redistributables. There's an offline installer I linked in one of the other comments on here. You could try that!

Usually games have the redistributables in the install package. What game are you trying to install and what phone / CPU chipset
@@Second_Wind nothing too exciting ,I've tried Bioshock, dead island (those are the main two) but no success, BioShock stops installation at about 63% My phone (and I feel this maybe the kicker) is the S21 ultra UK variant exynos chipset.
@@jshakseby2279 Yeah there might not be support for that chipset yet. However, the graphics driver wouldn't affect if the game can install or not, more like if it can render graphics. Are you installing the gog version of these games? Also, does your phone have enough room? If yes to both, is your screen turning off maybe? Happened to me during install of fallout 3 and I have to restart the whole thing.
@@jshakseby2279 also with the gog version of games, sometimes there's multiple setup files that need to be in the same folder the setup.exe program is. Maybe you accidentally deleted one of the setup files? Or, simply got only part of the game when you downloaded it? There's a comment on the video with a website to download games. Its actually the same one I used. Could try that as well.

For now Winlator, depending on what you're playing. Winlator is cool because you get wine and box64/86 all in one package

Normally zip, but you need to extract the setup files first

Does the winlator able to run game such as halo, i tried but a message popped up saying "Cannot allocate required memory. Some other application has loaded where Halo needs to be located."

You might need to change how much ram the phone is using. In the options before you load up the container, the video memory size is set to 2048 by default I believe. You could try and change this to 4096 if it lets you. Usually video memory means ram, especially if you're sure that you have enough storage available. Let me know if this works!

I tried every possible combination for my snapdragon 888. Every 3d game crashes no matter what setting. 2D games work flawless nonetheless
What 3d game are you trying to run. If the game is super recent then it's probably going to crash on any device, let alone the 888. Not sure specifically, but I know the turnip driver is for snapdragon

@@borjie2727 weird then, I'm not sure. Maybe it's the games themselves that just dont wanna work? Try fallout 3 if you can, just to see if it'll run. That'll be a control to see if it's your phone/Winlator settings, or the games you were trying to run.

@@Second_Wind I have a 256GB Sandisk USB. I connected it to my phone. I want to play games off the USB because I don't have enough storage space on my phone. When I try to add the folder in the container, it doesn't work. Not transfer.
@@logicstone1661 for some reason it doesn't work rn to add new drives before the container loads up, at least for me. In the container options, you can scroll all the way to the right where it shows the drives, and then try to add the flash drive as it's own drive, but idk if it'll work. Best best is to take whatever game you're trying to play and copy it to your phone's downloads folder

I haven't been able to get the gog installers to work personally, could just be a lack of space but I don't have anything that I can necessarily remove, and when I try to use my sd card it doesn't want to set a new folder for it either, so I'm kinda stuck

Hi, i have snapdragon 680 and tried to run games with turnip driver, they all crash on start up, i tried gta vc, gta 3, gta sa, nfs mw2005,sims 1, cod4, all the same, i opened the task manager and found out that when i click on the game, it appears in the process section in task manager for a couple of seconds then disappears, i thought maybe my phone isn't supported but when i searched in youtube i found ppl with my same phone (redmi 10c) playing gta iv 🤯

Did you add any extra drives? You only want to use the d drive, also where is the game Installed? Make sure it's also in your d drive. Try making all the cores available (there's 8, use them all). Also, are you using the Winlator 1.1? The new update enabled turnip to work for more phones. Let me know!

I forgot to mention that the only way some games worked is by playing them with software driver, only vc and 3 worked, and they run like shit

@@mrsomeone. If the software driver works but turnip and virgl doesn't, there might be something unique about your phone or something. Sometimes companies release multiple versions of the same phone, like Samsung making galaxys that have snapdragon, as well as their own exynos shit. Maybe it's something like that. I'd just hand tight till 1.2 drops.
@@mrsomeone. The obb is the 1.00, but the apk is 1.1. If u originally installed with apk 1.0, just download the 1.1 and when you install it'll just say update instead of install

Just download the gog version of whatever game you want to your phones download folder, then install using the installer. Try gog games .com. let me know if you get it working!

If you wanna play cuphead, I'd suggest trying Skyline. It is a Nintendo Switch emulator that I use for games like Shovel Knight and Hollow Knight so I'm sure it'd run Cuphead.
(Note: Use Custom Drivers and Mess with Options)
As previously mentioned, getting yuzu or skyline will yield better performance than Winlator for cuphead

is more 'complete' and precise than this video. It explained the most important part more concisely and that is what graphics driver and wrapper to use depending on chipset.

You should try to set it up when you're not running the container. Before you start the container, look on the side at the touch controls and there should be a 12 button template. Make a copy of that, and then customize to however you need. Let me know if it works!
