Angus is truly original. His style is unmistakably his own. Not only that, but he plays hooks that are catchy; his solos are memorable. Yeah, I reckon they played rock as good if not better than any other band there's ever been, but Angus plays mostly 1960s style rock and roll .. It's very simple music played very well ...

Not to mention, it was a time when electric guitars and amps were improving or advancing rapidly from the small combo cabs and hollow bodies, to solid bodies, half stacks, different pickups, full stacks, 20W became 45 and 50 watt. Then 100 Watt, and brief flirtations with 100W Laney stacks that burst into flames when Tony Iommi turned them on, (he loved it) this was awesome shit in late 60s pushing toward the70s when you look at it from THEIR prospective. Then look at it through the eyes of the next generation of Teens, along comes Van Halen in 78.

absolute myths. Malcom: Rest in peace, you are more alive here than ever. Thanks guys, thanks for making us dream. I owe you a lot. I started playing after seeing Angus...I was 8 years old.

MOST of the guitar players I know started playing around 12-13... BTW, that was MAGICAL time to start playing:)

Hendrix was one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century - now we have Taylor Swift… we are most definitely de-evolving

One really huge achievement is that the brothers find their own individual style. Their playing seems a bit far from Jimi, but I can't really imagine any great guitarist that wasn't doped by Jimi.
Very happy to hear that from him. ⚡

One of the best stories I read was in Kerrang! magazine regarding pre-show back stage at AC/DC gigs.
"Angus loves a nice cup of tea before the gig. No tea, no show!"

It's interesting because in the past Angus has said he wasn't a fan of wah pedals and all the effects which were a major part of Jimi's tone and innovation and Purple Haze without the Octavia wouldn’t be the same. But then, early Hendrix with just a Strat and Marshall was equally impressive.
