- The highly anticipated Paris Olympic games have been overshadowed by a controversial depiction of the last supper that sent billions across the world into a rage following the opening ceremony.
Paris 2024 Olympics organisers have since come out and apologised for offending anyone but many aren’t accepting the apology, vowing the boycott the games, which is having a domino effect on sponsorships and advertising.
Sky News All Stars Caleb Bond, Caroline Marcus and Evelyn Rae take a look at the wave of backlash that’s marred the Olympic games.

It wasn't even a real apology, not at all. What's worse is that now they're trying to cover it up because they know they messed up. They had plenty of time to review this performance and determine whether it was appropriate. And it clearly was not. I'm still baffled that some people on the internet are defending this. Regardless of religion, the entire thing was inappropriate. Olympic shows used to feel like classy performances, something family-friendly. But now, it's like we're seeing society reach a new level of perversion, and it's somehow being accepted. Did anyone see Jill Biden's White House Christmas? It was bizarre and just off. Compare it to Melania Trump's Christmas at the White House, which had class, elegance, and beauty. The decorations were stunning. But we keep letting these people in power, and they keep ruining it, and this is just another example. If you compare the Olympics openings over the years, you'll see that the previous ones had something beautiful, elegant, and classy. Sometimes even breathtaking performances. I don't know what this mess was, but it was far from beautiful or family-friendly.

I’m just as “enraged” by the Olympic villages mostly serving vegetarian meals. Why? I, myself, am a vegetarian but I would never force that on any guests coming to my house let alone top athletes of the world who has to perform at their best over two weeks and forcing them to eat the way “I” think is the right way. Yes. I came to see whether anyone else had commented on what France's key role at the Olympics is. They are the host. A role that France petitioned for and were chosen for. France ignored the principles and qualities of what it is to be an excellent host. This was the most despicable, disgusting thing I could ever imagined any nation would do at the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games. They openly mocked 2.4 billion Christians around the world. What did any of this debacle have to do with sports? Nothing!! If they had mocked Islam in a similar manner Paris would be burning today. The Olympic Games should be a time to celebrate the achievements of athletes and nations coming together in peace. I' been an avid watcher of the Olympics since the seventies and this opening ceremony was by far the worst I've ever seen. Done on the cheap camped up, Eurovision inspired self indulgent trash. The desecration of the last supper was a blatant blasphemous act by the eternally damned. Shame on the IOC, the French organising committee and all those who participated in breathing life into this egregiously offensive debacle. .

If this was an adult theatrical event that adults could choose to buy a ticket to attend it would be different matter. But to ‘force’ this into the opening ceremony of a SPORT event that is supposedly to unite the world this is an epic fail and total disgrace!
