- Meticulous had space on the Mazzer stand. It was a good chance to see it in operation with the new Mazzer grinder for the home.
The meticulous performed well with no problems. I believe it was a version 8. So it was a little earlier than they are now where they have built version 10, which contains aesthetic and performance improvements. I hope they do well. - Хобби
I'm really hoping they are able to deliver even with the stuff going on. Meticulous & Decent are revolutionizing home espresso.
Damn I just had the same idea today. A piston machine with a small chamber makes so much more sense in every aspect. Just add a small pump for automatic refill
This is really cool ❤
Ordered one. There is no water going into the internal that has to be taken apart to maintain. All components in this machine should last a very long time with no maintenance and cheap to replace. Much cheaper and simpler than any E61 HX or DB with infinite degree of freedom for flow and temp with a taste profile of a lever machine with preinfusion option. And thermal stability with not waiting 20-30 min for your profitec to reach the thermal equilibrium. You just boil water on a kettle at a standby temp at much faster time with no maintenance.
V10 also increased the water intake volume to do two back to back shot which you don’t really need if you have a kettle but it’s a nice option. At the end of the day, espresso is optimally brewed with temperature and flow (not pressure) and only lever machine comes close to allow you to do that.
only thing is you need a seperate milk steamer, which takes up space. For someone like me with very limited kitchen space, I only have room to have the Micra and P64. I would love to have this one instead of the Micra but no room to put a steamer on my countertop :( Like with any new type of product, I am going to wait until they refine in later versions rather than risking buying the first iteration.
When will the machine be delivered? And aren't you concerned since it's a Kickstarter project? Best regards from Germany. 🇩🇪
That thing looked like a torture device
lol I love the way Dave reassures the demo guy
Well it's always good to see new concepts and ideas enter the market. I hope it sees some success, judging by the views so far a lot of people are interested in it.
Micra heats up faster then this machine makes an espresso
I hope the next one there will be provision for frothing
Dave, are you going to test this machine in your "laboratory"?
I don't think so, it's a Kickstarter, they want influencer publicity not real world testing/feed back at this time, perhaps never. It's certainly a unique concept, but the reality of ownership, is probably not well understood by those who have supported the campaign. I think there might well be a few on the second hand market a few months after they start delivering. I would find it a major faff, especially if I had guests round!
Is it cordless ?
although i appreciate the enginerring it seems mighty bizarre to be filling the chamber with a water kettle. my take on the grinders working in tandem with the espresso machine is that humidity and coffee batch vary and typically require trial and error to get the shot you want. might it also be adviseable to preheat the portafilter as a cool pf will lower shot temp?
The portafilter preheats in the meticulous itself also - and the meticulous can heat the water just not as fast as the kettle
@@historyaha the idea behind no water tank?
You can use different water (aka different water recipes) as changing the water changes the flavor @@s96822
@@s96822since the water heater and the hot water are close to the group head it eliminates a lot of engineering headaches. Also simpler design means less maintenance issues like leaks etc.
But, On the downside I'm not sure how fast you can pull shots on this since the hot water should be readily available in a kettle.
@@historyaha how long to heat room temp water for a shot?
How was the espresso?
what grinder was being used in the video?
It’s a new one from Mazzer
The Philos from Mazzer.
8-9bar? lol
Slow process
Its meant to put out 1 shot. This is not commercial machine.
You can put preheated water from a kettle and you don't have to wait.
I don’t want to use a tablet to make an espresso… No. Don’t like the Decent either.
Then there are plenty of options for you outside these two.
This is nice but obviously waste of time 😅
Way too long for a shot of espresso, this is whack
It's long because of long preinfusion. They did 40s to 37g so it's gonna be a older fashioned type shot
He meant this is too long to warm up the water and wait, I find it also dealbreaker
Yeah seems like an easy work around with either preheating the water or using the preheat function and changing around workflow a bit but I can also see how it would be enough for some to mark it off
No doubt these companies trying to involve a bit too much tech really removes the operator from the equation. Espresso has always been about user skill/technique and of course the lazy asses want push button convenience/consistency with a bit of modern bling. Take away the screen/app and most techies are damn lost!
@@commandodude333most commercial machines have single button operation.
Looks very cool :)
Preheating speed could be better, but I guess one could build the workflow around this. I noticed that the timer kept running for a bit after the shot ended and when it stopped it did reset to 0, I would prefer the last shot time to stay up there on screen, with the weight and temp data. But this is software and can be changed with updates. I might end up with one of these in the future!
