    Phew, that was one wild stream! So many pop culture references!!
    For those interested in some of the references, I've got the links to the mentioned clips of Ahn Mika and Tanaka Kunie in the description.
    Hope you enjoyed the clip as much as I did!

    As a japanese learning beginner I always found Meloco's japanese so outer wordly, just now I've realized it's kansai-ben and that she's very fond of making niche references, for this newly aquired knowledge I'm thankful to you Georgie-dono~

    • @ogbear_wut
      @ogbear_wut  Год назад +21

      Ohh, I'm glad I helped!
      Yeah, her Kansai-ben can get really heavy when she goes there haha. She uses some really obscure terms out of nowhere too. And honestly, without Rikiichi pointing her references out, I would have missed them too XD (some are from the 80s for crying out loud lol) As she said, she's not beginner-friendly at all!

    What I gathered from this is that Meloco is the japanese learner's equivalent to what Vox is to english learners lol

    An almost 19 MINUTE translated clip of Rikiichi and Meloco? You are a saint. 😂 That Deadpool comparison is so apt, haha. Watching Rikiichi with subs literally always feels like that.
    Thank you as usual for the translations! Always nice to see a ジョ-児 who speaks English 😊

      Haha, I realized early on that the TL was gonna be tough so I skimped a bit on the editing to spend more time on the translating. Still had to work till 3+ am though lol
      Frankly, there was a lot I wanted to do but couldn't because of time. I wanted to do a Rikiichi-Kyoran Shanti mash-up for the ending to celebrate Rikiichi exceeding 2 mil view on his cover~ 😭

    Meloco has inspired me to learn some Japanese, so that I can understand her humour better. I'll learn proper Japanese and then try to understand her Deadpool-Japanese 😄

    This is a really good clipping with so many information and explanation! Thank you very much!
    If i might say something, maybe the explanation text can lag a bit behind before disappearing, as it's usually takes a little bit longer to read and understand sentences that contains unfamiliar references (plus while processing the on going conversation subtitle) i feel like this is not really a problem if I'm watching on PC, it just so happen I'm watching from phone right now so i have to tap the screen once to show the pause icon, which by then the explanation is gone already and i have to rewind back 5 seconds to try to pause at the right time to read them properly.
    Thanks again for these high quality clips in longer duration, it really keeps a lot of nuances and hilarity intact compared to shorter one!

    • @ogbear_wut
      @ogbear_wut  Год назад +1

      Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
      I'll try to keep the explanations around a bit longer if I can from now on, though I may still need to keep them short sometimes when they'll block the next bit of convo or something. Really, the screen feels so small sometimes, especially in collabs with multiple Livers XD But I'll do my best!

    6:12 a little bit correction it's not 30 thousand tiles. the "man" here is manzu/wanzu the name of the tiles for the kanji like tiles(1-9), pinzu for the round tiles(1-9), and sōzu for bamboo like tiles. btw thanks for the translation especially for the reference part

    • @ogbear_wut
      @ogbear_wut  Год назад +1

      The kanji itself "Man" means 10,000 though. I was trying to keep it simple and not go 3-man with a note that man=10,000. There are enough notes as it is lol

    • @CaitSithNo2
      @CaitSithNo2 Год назад +2

      @@ogbear_wut the origin of it was ten thousand but english speaker still call it man while japanese speaker usually call it wan. well it's just adding a context so in case anyone confused.
