Very to the point. Would just add that if you don't have work experience as a fresh graduate, focus on your skillset, degree, language skills, relevant coursework and anything else you developed while at university. Basically focus on all the things that you already have. Good employers just want to see that you have the attitude and foundational skillset to develop your skills further at their company, not work experience.

Thank you so much and wish you the best for internships 🙌 I used to revise the golden book every weekend, can't say for sure if I knew all these on my tips (I think most likely I didn't) but just revising them every weekend helped keep the basic figures like 17x4 in mind and helped me avoid mistakes.

I am final year student and my past Academics scores are below average and I also want to give my 100+ efforts in CAT23. So right now my fifth sem external exams are going on and I want to also improve my graduation percentage along with giving time to cat classes also. my main concern is - How to make a daily timetable along with cat coaching and clg studies (nearly on exam days) and practise for cat.
It's understandable, I faced the same issue at a given point in my prep, so I took the hard call that I won't attend college and only focus on CAT prep. I made sure to use past year papers for college exams and borrow notes from class toppers. I skipped most classes in my final year. Also made sure to take out 1-2 hours consistently daily in the evening at the same time non-negotiably for CAT prep. This increased to 3-4 hours after June. Fix your goal to 1 priority and see how you can avoid or minimise the interference of other tasks.

But is it feasible for you to help me out like I have joined unacedmy for the concepts, but I’m not getting the time for practise those concepts… should I leave clg classes to practise those concepts and score good percentile in CAT23. And in the back of my mind it’s going on that as I have 7/7 in my school which is not a good numbers. Also my main concern is to do great in those things which are in my hand my graduation marks and cat marks. Also… Is that 10,12 class marks matter a lot for the IIM-A, I have also played football for A division clubs in Delhi. Hello didi I scored 60% in 10th , 57% in 12th and 71% in grad. I am 23 year old and did my graduation in 2021. I gave CAT 2023 at scored 34 percentile. I wasted time between June 2021 to now. Now I have two choice:- 1. Choice a 3 tier college and do CFA with it. 2. Or give CAT 2023 again with CFA level 1 and 7x certification and join any cllg with low fee to show my parents that I am doing MBA. I am sure this time I will get tier 1 college. But by this my MBA will be completed in 2026, is it worth it because tier 3 college will give me 4-5 lakh package in 2025 and tier 1 college can give more then that. What should I do now?
I don't think you should join any tier 3 college just for the sake of it. Why waste your time or money? Instead if you're certain this is what you want, take a gap. Use it to prepare well for CAT and do internships alongside or work part-time to earn some extra pocket money and also gain skills.
Also one more question, should I be reading a regular newspaper like Hindu or business ones like Business Standard or read NY Time/Guardian Editorials or Aeon 🥲 I read Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan on a daily basis, should I stop them for above?
After walking through your qualifications, I'm free to make a stereotype statement that you were great in studies which makes your academics appreciable. On the other hand, it also raises a question which needs to be asked that how difficult it was for you to manage the quant section in CAT 🤔🤔

I've used Arun Sharma books, they have quite a lot of theory in there, so you can try them. I've also collaborated with Oswaal Books many times, their books are also good, less theory but more past year questions. Books by other authors available are Nishit Sinha, RS Aggarwal

I used to think of this all the time :P They are very smart, they have seen countless students and can catch bluff in seconds. They will ask you follow-up questions and get to know in a moment if you're lying. There are several such experiences shared on Quora where profs caught bluff.

But, if you wish to go abroad for further education or do research work, an MBA would be better. Else, it's just a degree vs diploma difference.
Yes, you absolutely can! Work on how you present your points in resume (as shared in this video also) and how you present yourself in the interview. Use the various videos added on internships to learn how to apply, which email to write, etc.

Lots of things that can be done: - courses - attending workshops - volunteering in NGOs - blogging/social media presence - reading books - trading - personality development e.g. speaker gigs - learning new languages can also try asking my friends who had work-ex what they did

my main concern is - How to make a daily timetable along with cat coaching and clg studies (nearly on exam days) and practise for cat.
It's understandable, I faced the same issue at a given point in my prep, so I took the hard call that I won't attend college and only focus on CAT prep. I made sure to use past year papers for college exams and borrow notes from class toppers. I skipped most classes in my final year. Also made sure to take out 1-2 hours consistently daily in the evening at the same time non-negotiably for CAT prep. This increased to 3-4 hours after June. Fix your goal to 1 priority and see how you can avoid or minimise the interference of other tasks.
@@Shweta-Arora I got your point completely. But is it feasible for you to help me out like I have joined unacedmy for the concepts, but I’m not getting the time for practise those concepts… should I leave clg classes to practise those concepts and score good percentile in CAT23.
And in the back of my mind it’s going on that as I have 7/7 in my school which is not a good numbers. Also my main concern is to do great in those things which are in my hand my graduation marks and cat marks.
Also… Is that 10,12 class marks matter a lot for the IIM-A, I have also played football for A division clubs in Delhi.

Hi didi..So I've appeared for cat 2022 .. didn't go as well as I thought.. taking cat again this year ..but I have made up my mind to get into finance post my mba ..I am really interested in that field..but I don't have any finance specific point on my CV ..I thought of pursuing CFA but that's gonna take about 1.5 years and it's gonna delay my mba by about 2 years.. could you please suggest my how do I build a finance specific CV ..also I I've heard online certifications don't really add a lot of value during final placements is that also true?

I scored 60% in 10th , 57% in 12th and 71% in grad. I am 23 year old and did my graduation in 2021. I gave CAT 2023 at scored 34 percentile.
I wasted time between June 2021 to now. Now I have two choice:-
1. Choice a 3 tier college and do CFA with it.
2. Or give CAT 2023 again with CFA level 1 and 7x certification and join any cllg with low fee to show my parents that I am doing MBA.
I am sure this time I will get tier 1 college.
But by this my MBA will be completed in 2026, is it worth it because tier 3 college will give me 4-5 lakh package in 2025 and tier 1 college can give more then that.
What should I do now?
I don't think you should join any tier 3 college just for the sake of it. Why waste your time or money? Instead if you're certain this is what you want, take a gap. Use it to prepare well for CAT and do internships alongside or work part-time to earn some extra pocket money and also gain skills.

After walking through your qualifications, I'm free to make a stereotype statement that you were great in studies which makes your academics appreciable. On the other hand, it also raises a question which needs to be asked that how difficult it was for you to manage the quant section in CAT 🤔🤔

I've used Arun Sharma books, they have quite a lot of theory in there, so you can try them. I've also collaborated with Oswaal Books many times, their books are also good, less theory but more past year questions. Books by other authors available are Nishit Sinha, RS Aggarwal

Hi Di, just curious as to How do professors in PI round know that a person is saying genuine things in the interview for B-school (since they don't see resume and certificates)?
I used to think of this all the time :P They are very smart, they have seen countless students and can catch bluff in seconds. They will ask you follow-up questions and get to know in a moment if you're lying. There are several such experiences shared on Quora where profs caught bluff.

As such the corporate industry doesn't differentiate between the two - hiring depends on the brand value of the institute you're graduating from. But, if you wish to go abroad for further education or do research work, an MBA would be better. Else, it's just a degree vs diploma difference.

Most coaching institutes have 3 days classes only, mine was also the same. Their syllabus gets completed around October.

Most of the college students still have time to add to their skills. How does someone who's done with college can add more skills or achievements of any sort to their CV? Even competitions are meant for students. Please answer ?
Lots of things that can be done:
- courses
- attending workshops
- volunteering in NGOs
- blogging/social media presence
- reading books
- trading
- personality development e.g. speaker gigs
- learning new languages
can also try asking my friends who had work-ex what they did
