    I recently found an unofficial "Wipeout Pure Special Edition" online that puts all 3 regions content into one game. Awesome video!

    Fun fact: those region specific packs could be converted to US/EU/JP with a tool allowing the use of exclusive US ships and the Japanese exclusive Coca Cola Ships which won't change the AI...

    • @feisarfan96
      @feisarfan96 Год назад +8

      The tool you are speaking of (dlc2dlc) only works for the Cokeship and AG-Systems Coca livery, all other DLCs crashes.
      WipEout Pure: Special Edition was updated to v4.0 with more improvements and the original AI restored/unaltered. It also has all 32 tracks playable in Zone mode, bugfixes, restores the unused thrust bar, everything unlocked and there are even custom DLCs (such as a mini HUD/the 4 Zone tracks playable in Race mode/JP language/custom menu skins). It's the definitive version of the game.

      @@feisarfan96 Oh, the Stealth movie UMD includes a special WipEout Pure demo with an exclusive ship. (And yes, it’s got a reskinned Koltiwa.)
      And the Zone ship in Zone mode is replaced as well.

    Got a PSP with Wipeout on EU launch in 2005(it still works) and have been playing the Wipeout series ever since.
    I was a child back then so I just appreciated the free extra content, but it is crazy to think that this was the first DLC I ever downloaded.

    Very cool, I wasn't aware of all this DLCs released in Japan and Europe for Wipeout Pure. I'll download the ISO containing all DLC + promotional content to play it on my PSP.

    I can't tell you how awesome it is to see fresh, WipEout related videos pop up on this site, especially when it's by someone who has knowledge about the previous installments, and who's obviously done an insane amount of research to explain all of these packs. Love the way you talked about Classic Pack 2, because those issues about the track layouts not being nearly as on-point as the originals is the same feeling I've had about them. Also, I'm from the EU, and while I did know about the Coke DLC, the Stealth demo completely went under the radar ... tee hee.
    You're criminally underrated

    When my WipEout Pure and WipEout Pulse UMDs caved in on themselves, I turned to piracy so that I could keep playing the games, installing custom firmware on my PSP. I then took the opportunity to finally experience all of WipEout Pure’s region-exclusive DLC, not to mention the WipEout Pulse DLC. (And I even ordered the Stealth movie UMD on Amazon!)
    8:47 I was promptly traumatized when I played Paris Hair for the first time. That’s one track I do not wish to see remade in HD by fans.

    The only thing move convoluted than Pure's DLC is trying to wrap your head around the full linage of the Omega collection on PS4/5. If you ever feel up for it, I would love you analysis of the Omega collection, because I've tried my best to fully grok what is in there and what versions of engine(s) they're using but I was a little shaky still. Watching this video just threw a new monkey wrench in the works because now I wonder what of all these made their way through all the iterations to the latest version. Cheers!

    Well made and informative videos that really make you eager to play the titles yourself. A shame that the entry level is somewhat steep, so all I see is passing opponents and... the walls. :/

    How would one acquire this DLC? I have a still functional real PSP (unmodded) with a Wipeout Pure UMD, which I'm pretty sure is the EU edition.
    Ideally, I'd like to get it on my PSP without modding or emulation...

  • @sunsetman22
    @sunsetman22 Год назад +1

    ah, that makes sense! I had a custom ISO with all of the DLC, but it was completely insufferable to play through due to the A.I. being broken. at the time, I just wrote it off as the game itself being bad, so I just uninstalled it and wrote it off as my least favourite in the franchise. thanks to this video, I installed a clean ISO, added the DLC manually, and I've now completed around three quarters of the game. Fusion is still my fave tho. your reviews are great btw.

    • @thereviewden

      That is great to hear! It's a super game, but the "repack/special edition" REALLY messes up the AI. And thanks!

      @@thereviewdenYou sure about that? I know there's a separate "Elite Difficulty" patch that may or may not have been applied. I don't know what you meant at 11:26 by "racing at a different level than you do." (Easier? Harder?)
      I'm too dumb to apply the patches to my own UMDs (and I do have them from all three regions!), so I, uh, kinda just downloaded the pre-patched ISOs for WipEout Pure Special Edition 4.0 and WipEout Pulse - FX350 Edition 4.0. I'm at least handling Vector class okay in Pure Special, but I'm getting absolutely wrecked in Pulse, which I know has to have its Elite Difficulty patch applied because it _says_ Elite difficulty in the campaign grids. Hard difficulty was still called "Hard" in Pulse, but the Elite difficulty patch completely replaces it.
