I had a few seizures but my MRT was normal, my first EEG was normal. So doctors thought it was PNES. Then another doctor put me on levetiracetam because he thought I was epileptic. As it worked completely brilliant, he said video EEG is not necessary. In the last routine EEG there were left frontal spikes. It took 1,5 years after the diagnosis for the abnormalities to be seen.

My neurologist said because every time I stop taking Keppra the seizures comes back, the means that what I was having was focal aware seizures. My son’s EEG was abnormal in his sleep. He had 1 nocturnal generalized seizures that we know of. If he had more we don’t know because he has his own room. The odd thing is, I got on medication and he didn’t…I don’t feel comfortable with that. My EEG was normal. His wasn’t.

Same with my 6 year old daughter EEG and MRI are normal. Her seizures only happens for a few seconds just when she is falling asleep and complains of her chest soon after then it goes away. For the past 2-3weeks she has been limping on her left leg but this week she looks and walks better.

Just remember medications for seizures aren't the cure. It's to prevent them but always a chance of having them again. Side effect from medications cause many to develop stress, anxiety and depression which then causes a higher possiblity of having a seizure.

Im suffering from a kind of difficulty or unpleasant discomfort attack since 10 year. The difficulty attack start suddenly and remain till the 30 to 1 minute and slowly I feels relief and becomes normal, I have never unconscious during that difficulty attack but feels really to much difficulty which I cannot explain in words. During that attack time , I can feel everything normally as what I feels in the normal condition , Can talk, my body every part function normally , even I can travel on bike , I never unconscious. After MRI and EEG doctor has given me 2 medicine now Im taking 2 medicine one is Clobazam and Lacosamide but still problem/attack happens daily some day 2/3 or more attack also , no improvement by medicine. What the difficulty I have mentioned above that doesn't detect by EEG in other normal condition even long 4 hour EEG Test after medicine stopped 2/3 days ago before EEG, only fortunately 2 time had detected by normal 1 hour EEG , during EEG test such attack happened and EEG detected abnormal sharp wave discharge from temporal lobe region and MRI report show
1.Ring shaped cortical/subcortical lesion with eccentric dot and blooming on SWI and calcification on phase images in the left hippocampal with minimal surrounding edema. Findings represent calcified granuloma most likely related to neurocysticercosis. Other diagnostic consideration is tuberculosis.
    2. Volume loss and no definite increased signal of left hippocampus as compared to the right with slight dilation of left temporal horn. Both mammillary bodies are unremarkable. Findings are concerning for left mesial temporal sclerosis. Doctor suggest me for So many time EEG test for see seizure condition but normal EEG never able to detect anything , only detect abnormal sharp wave if attack happen during EEG test so , So many time doctor confuse and declare that attack is Anxiety attack.

In 1997 I was almost murdered. I suffered a bad head injury and had to have surgery to remove pieces of broken skull. I had a few seizures that night, then I had one several years later ( I was in a confrontation and yelling and fell back into a seizure. Well around 10 years or so went by, and me and my wife had an argument ( maybe 10 years ago) and I went into a bad seizure that night. This past Tuesday 8/1/23 me and my wife had gotten into another argument and I began to have like a halo floaty thing in my left eye. I told her I didn’t want to argue anymore it just wasn’t worth it. I got a wash rag and laid down on the couch. She went into the bedroom to lay down and within 2 hours 9:30pm that night I fell off the couch into the floor into another seizure. My wife called the paramedics and when they arrived I had no idea what happened, I didn’t know my name, what year it was etc -… I go Tuesday for an EEG. I really wish I could figure out what’s going on.

From the age 7 to 12 I would go to a neurologist once or twice a year. I once had an EEG done and an MRI done and the only thing that they could tell me was that I had abnormal brain activity. Other than that they said everything was normal. They never told me what abnormal brain activity meant, but they said I might be prone to focal seizures. Once again, they never told me what focal seizures were. I’m now 19 and over the past couple months, I would occasionally start to feel like I am either intoxicated or having a stroke. I will stutter and slur my words, and I feel this static feeling in my brain. (Kinda like when you flip to a channel where there’s nothing on the TV and it’s just static) makes it hard for me to read, speak, and even understand words being spoken to me. This is only been happening for a couple months that I know of. I started googling about a month ago what would cause the onset of a stutter, if never previously had a stutter. The search results would always lead to brain injury, epilepsy, and stuff like dementia. Well I hadn’t had any brain injuries and I’m 19 so the only possible answer was epilepsy. I started looking up symptoms of epilepsy, and I couldn’t find much, but I did see an article mention focal seizures. A long time ago I was diagnosed with Tourette’s and was told I am prone to focal seizures, but I was never told what that meant. Only discovered what they were today when I recognized I was having one.

    Differentials to consider include:
    --Cystic pituitary lesion.
    --Pituitary haemorrhage, less likely.
Suggested MRI Sella/Pituitary with contrast and correlating CT for further characterisation.

@@DrOmarDanoun yeah. I got diagnosed with PNES after having a normal 24 hour eeg. They were still more like convulsive syncope at the time. February of this year I had another 24 outpatient eeg. This was the first time I had stiffening. I also have pots which is what the syncope is from. All my eegs have been normal since 2009. The misfiring is because I had a hemispherectomy and is around the surgery site. It has been stable since 2009.

Salam doctor. I got seizure during an MRI scan. That awful aura came feels like my brain being crushed and spin as if in the food processor. Nurses said I just stared blankly to the ceiling and become unresponsive. I can hear them but I can't react. Like my whole body being locked out. Like my whole body are not mine anymore.
While in the elevator, I had a full blown fit. Then back in the ward my BP went skyhigh postictal 225/150. Then they put me in ICU that night. Funny thing is my MRI shows normal, my EEG returns normal and my ct scan also normal. But due to repeated fits the neurologist classified my case as epilepsy. Focal impaired awareness with secondary generalized tonic clonic.
Now I'm on levetiracetam and valproic acid. Still got some fits occasionally. But the frequency had decreases.

My EEGs show up normally, but my MRI shows the stuff where they can see where I’ve been having seizures for a long time in the left temporal lobe. And doctor got to see me freeze while we were talking about it today… 😂 the flashing lights don’t cause immediate responses, but she thinks they do something because totally screw up some random things…. Don’t know how to explain it. But she was like “No, it’s not PNES, and you are clearly having them. “ is there issues, like a bias in some instances because of, from what I was told, PNES and other type stuff being more noticed in females that can cause that to be a go to, like the PNES if a case is confusing? Just a question.

    Good morning
My son was diagnosed with Epilepsy in September. Of 2017, he had 13 seizures between then and March of 2018.
He had no more seizures until December of 2020. He started in May of 2020 making a slight noise lasting 1-2 seconds and then couldn't talk for like 10 seconds.(we call them vocalizations)
This has been the trend since 2020, seizures once in a while that he turns his face to right and twitches lasts maybe one minute and the "vocalizations" .
We have done several MRI's including a Tesla MRI.... Everything came back normal.
He is on vimpat, trileptal and keppra... All on high doses...
He had a seizure yesterday, he complained all day of being very tired.
WHat can it be... Is there anyway I can sPeak to you or email you.

Thanks for the video. I am taking Keppra for Focal aware seizures. I just start staring, rising sensation in my tummy and both legs start to rock back and forth for about 30 seconds to a minute. Sometimes They turn into a tonic clonic seizure where I fall backwards and my legs shake. I find excess noise, menstraul cycle and stress are my triggers. I have a history of autism and anxiety so I’m currently seeing a neurologist for my epilepsy and on a waiting list being referred to a Functional Neurological Disorder Clinic as seizures started after taking the First dose of Astrazenca vaccine. I’m also on a waiting list for video EEG. I am a complicated case as they think I might have both is that common?
