She is so masterful and confident and it looks so easy for her. She is a true musician and to be able to sing like that, you can't be taught that. You have to live it. The blues just oozes out of her!!! She makes it easy to get the blues out of you so you feel better after hearing her amazing talent. What a fabulous example of womanhood!!!!!!!!!!
Bonnie is one of two women I love to hear sing the Blues, her and Sue Tedeschi have the right quality in their voices they talkin about what they know and have lived.
I've loved Bonnie Raitts music for nigh on , can it be, almost fifty years. cant believe it. She's done so much to spotlight her mentors from Sippie Wallace to John Lee. She is the real Queen of the Blues.. Plays slide better than anyone. Hooker was the best and I'm glad he got recognition as a result of all the then young folks like Bonnie spotlighting him and recording this terrific album
Bonnie Raitt is THE most talented female singer & slide guitarist in my top 5 slide players Johnnie Winter, Mick Taylor, Ry Cooder.& Duane Allman& the newest Allman relation Derek Trucks
AWWW!!!!! Two of the real Greats!! Cant get much better ... LOVE John Lee Hooker and Bonnie has done her thang with some real real great blues players!!!!!! This is a keeper darlin...THANK YOU for posting!!!! Startin my day right!!!! yessssss!!!!! Blessings--Sandria
i got to get my two cents in on this girl. first of all she's beautiful, then she's harvard and then she's also john raitt's daughter. with all that against her look what she did. i keep thinking i've heard the best in music and then i remember bonnie. this girl can hold her own and then run with the best. i love her, her music and hope she goes on forever. a classics lover in books, arts and music...she meets the grade on all levels.
Maybee the greatest, women.playing solid solide.slide gitar,in the world, still today.and Joan jett is the, other women, that can, play on Bonnie Raitt Level,on the gitar.
Hi, LAmericarosegirl, thank you for this beauty BLUES duo ...fantastic J.L.Hooker and Bonnie Raitt... what a blues...I love them...JOŠi, 19042016, 06.30 AM
First saw Bonnie when she opened for Jackson Browne at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix in 1975. My wife Cindy and I had only been married a short time and what a great show it was to experience. Bonnie said she didn't know that it there was snow in the desert, but it certainly 'snowed' that night. Alwasys look forward to hearing her and would love to see her again in person. Thanks for the memories.....
"Love it" ! Could we please go back to the seventy's-early ? Been trying to get out of the house for 11/2 hrs, but this GREAT music JUST KEEPS ON COMIN' !!!! THANKS, LEZA.
I love youtube, i google, john lee hooker and santana "chill out", awesome tune, then the suggested in the side comes up, never thought of this, clicked it, awesome :D here's to the all time greats!!!!
If this doesn't make your skin chill up, you are dead! I was honored to see Bonnie in a small venue in the '70's at the Santa Cruz Civic, and to have set next to John Lee at a small favorite restrurant in Gilroy, Ca. many times when I had my business there. This is top drawer blues!
Been loving his music since I got a CD from him at the age of 8 or so. The first music I ever owned. I never understood why does he sound like just mumbling "Hubblidy Hooblah" whenever he is singing anything outside the chorus tho. Still have no idea xD
Saw this act at Slim's in San Francisco in the '80s. Saw John Lee in many places before that throughout the '70s in the WAY outback. Bonnie was raised and bred in the upper class, trained in classical music, but she recognized that the REAL music was the blues.
I have a preference on blues but im not turning down anyway instrumental music. Classic is very to me would be to an equal place of soulful want it or not, if you ever played classic violin or piano, it feels alot like playing blues on guitar guitar, closing eyes and feeling the vibes. Great feelings from both. Named my pup after Bonnie, long live slide queen 👑
John Lee had enormous admiration for Bonnie as a singer and slide guitar player. He felt she was the real deal. He used to always called her "my girl."
Bonnie has spent her life-time learning & playing with the Best Blues men there ever were & Today, Bonnie is the Best there is.

Bonnie Raitt not only plays great guitar . Her vocals are clear, strong and soulful too. I guess that's what makes her a big star!
I could sit and listen to the blues all night. John is another Mississippi great blues player.
Blues is the breath of the soul.....
true
And blues makes a white woman playing with a black man, great
This is classic...two of the great blues voices of the past 50 years. Bonnie is without peer.
Bonnie is one of two women I love to hear sing the Blues, her and Sue Tedeschi have the right quality in their voices they talkin about what they know and have lived.

Simply the best. What is better than John Lee Hooker and Bonnie Raitt. So wonderful to the ear and to the eye. Amazing.

Can't figure out which is more soulful, the guitars or the lyrics. THIS is blues, the way it should be.
