This is about Pearlheart's deceased elder sister. When they are still apprentice Pearlpaw trapped Strawpaw in a cave due to jealousy over her sister's talent, with no intention to cause death. When a uneasy Pearlpaw checked again, she found Strawpaw had been fatally bitten by a snake.
Since then, Pearlheart has carried a burden of guilt because she believes her sister's death was caused by herself. Eventually, she confided in med cat Rosellewish about the truth behind her sister's death. However, instead of helping her, Rosellewish chose to plunge her deeper into the abyss of guilt. Simultaneously, this became the final straw that led to Pearlheart's demise.
