But or Rent - Frozen II - • Frozen II
Why was Elsa born with magical powers? What truths about the past await Elsa as she ventures into the unknown to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond Arendelle? The answers are calling her but also threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, she'll face a dangerous but remarkable journey. In Frozen, Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In Frozen II, she must hope they are enough.

I definitely understand people's dissapointment with Red's design in comparison to others in the movie, but I feel like people don't realize that she's a very well built sea creature. She's smooth to be able to movie easier in the water, she has extremely thick blubber instead of armor, and sharper teeth; VERY similar to something like an Orca! She gives me clear carnivorous whale vibes, even moreso with the texture of her stomach. To me it makes a lot of sense that there's a mix of smoother animals like Red, Blue, and that Yellow thing, and more jagged armored ones like the Brickleback or Crab!
Edit: the reason nothing comes into Red's nose underwater is bc she has a clear membrane that goes over the opening, multiple semi-aquatic animals irl have something like that too!
exactly, you can tell when the membrane retracts during the scene where J and M are hit with a sudden gust of wind while they reach the monster island.
And I love that she's like parallel in role to the white whale in Moby Dick. They both protect their kind from the hunters, and have become too familiar with and smart enough to evade and attack ships on their own.
There's similarities between httyd and this movie but both the movies progressed differently and that's what makes these movies different. I love both the movies. This one is definitely a bit scarier than httyd too.
HTTYD 3 and this have similar endings. the main character gives up the main beast and humans leave the beasts alone
@@salt6500 yeah that's just a cliché ending. I don't care If the endings are simular, the reasons are different and what led up to it was diffrent
When I was watching this movie and saw red I thought of hiccups mothers dragon
@@salt6500 thanks for the spoiler!

I loved this movie! I literally cannot get over how they animated all the different kinds of hair! I have natural black hair that is really curly, and I don't think I have ever seen an animated movie do a good job of animating black hair! This one is the best one I've seen with Maisie's hair, I was so excited when I saw the trailer just for that reason haha. Maisie is the best!
The water animation BLEW MY MIND. It looks so real!
Honestly the only similarity to HTTYD is that the "beasts" or "monsters" are just misunderstood and HTTYD did not invent that theme lol. Red's design is a little like toothless', only the mouth/head shape though. Overall the movies are quite different, and I love both.
I know I mention this a lot, but I say that Red takes more inspiration from Moby Dick than HTTYD. She's smart, and she actively attacks hunters' ships and is able to make it out alive. She's got the scars to prove it too.
This is probably one of the most well animated movies I have ever seen, the water and hair all look amazing. I hope they make more movies like this or set in the same universe.
This movie was so damn good and the water visuals were incredible. I also got How to Train Your Dragon vibes from it. 😊❤❤
This movie was a good surprise when I first watched !! Watched it so many times since then lol I had felt such a similar vibe with Red and Toohless and it was just so nice to see haha
I'm glad you watched this! It's definitely one of my new favorite Netflix originals!
A few thoughts, I know a lot of people make the obvious comparison with HTTYD but there is another story that has a few more similarity with this one, and that would Moby Dick.
Though they have replaced whales with sea beasts, back in those days, whales were viewed as the sea beasts, with stories of the dangers of hunting them and the bravery of the sailors pursuing them. Moby Dick is by far the most famous of those stories. Captain Crow has ,to a lesser extent, a similar obsession as the captain of the MD story, Captain Ahab. His obsession does grow to a near Ahab like level by the end of the movie. The Sea Beast is bit like a retelling of MD but from a more modern point of view. While change in the movie feels much like the one in HTTYD, it was almost obligatory to reflect our change of views on whaling and whales themselves. They were seen as monsters back then but we have evolved to view them as gentle giants that deserve our protection. The change of view in HTTYD was more for both to have tension in the story and an excuse to ride dragons. But in the Sea Beast, it's a representation of humanity's relationship with nature and it's creatures.
Don't get me wrong, I love HTTYD and I think it's one of the best film trilogy there is.
I just wanted to point out what thought were the most fundamental differences between HTTYD and the Sea Beast, as well as remind a few of the existence of Moby Dick.
P.S. you should see the movie Moby Dick with Gregory Peck as Ahab.
Also wanted to add, Captain Crow's quote "I strike at thee you devil!!" Reminded me of a Captain Ahab quote "From hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee. Ye damned whale."
It has its similarities but it stands out as it’s own
OMG someone who thought the same as me, YES! The moment I watched them fight with the Brickleback and the idea was that they would tire it out, I immediately thought of Moby Dick (well, also the movie In The Heart of The Sea). And then we saw more of Red's character and I was like, yup, she's the "white whale".
I know it's a tiny, insignificant to plot detail, but I think it's neat that the animators used a red moon in that one scene. Red moons happen irl during lunar eclipses so if there's intentional parallel to real world weather there, then Sea Beast occurred chronologically around the timing of a full or almost full lunar eclipse.
Historically, 'Blood moons' have always been viewed as a bad omen. Sailors are a superstitious bunch
Watched this movie yesterday. It's true. Very similar to HTTYD, but the direction of the story is miles apart. The fact that the beast didn't listen to Maisie or Jacob when attacking the ship showed he was still a wild animal with a heavy, understandable grudge that won't listen to people, even if they're friends.
Has he not watched the animated film "Surf's up" yet? It's such a good one, one of my favourites
that takes me back a bit. When Shia labeouf was a thing
I love the movies you watch. In todays crazy angry world, its nice to see a positive person/channel like yours :)
A little girl Alice, who is daughter of a friend of my dad's introduced me to this movie I want to say almost 2 weeks ago give or take, and I actually liked it, I was a little hesitant at first but then I felt foolish for not checking out this movie sooner, this movie is really neat, and also... Blue is absolutely super adorable, He's like stitch from Lilo & stitch only he's able to swim and he can't speak
This movie is so freaking good! Everything about it was so much fun!
i like to think of it like this: if i enjoyed a certain trope or idea of a movie or game, seeing it again in another film or game done well with its own unique spin on it is something i’m almost guaranteed to enjoy. in short, more of what i like, why complain? this film is a good example of that, where even if there might be inspiration from httyd, it became its own thing and it did it extremely well and it’s enjoyable. another example i love to use is also the game breath of the wild and the game genshin impact where there is obvious similarities but it quickly became unique while also having many of things that were enjoyable from the first.
I've watched this definitely 10x already. For the story, the animation, and my love for Karl Urban (badass Jacob)! Aka Billy Butcher, Dr. mcCoy and many other accolades
I recently watched this film and I thought it was pretty good. The plot is reminiscent of How to Train Your Dragon in several ways and some of the character designs are similar to others from Disney, when you think about it.
I love this movie so much, none of my friends know about it and that’s what I love about this movie, it’s so cute!
Every time the movie says "inevitable" i just think of "I am... inevitable" 😂
That scene where Red was staring at them and goes down into the abyss is why I have Thalassophobia. 😭
Seeing a black little girl as a huge lead in an animated movie made me cry. This can bring so many little girls joy. This movie is so good.
A question: the ending song, praising a certain Captain. Does it subvert the hopeful ending? Or did somebody just not think it through with the soundtrack?
18:20 I would've died on the spot
"It doesn't look like a sea creature... it's like an eel" 😅
Yoooo, I love this movie!!! I just saw it the other week!!! I’m so glad someone is watching it
Animation by Sony Pictures Imageworks!
18:30 nightmares hello!!!
This movie is reminiscent to how I felt when I played Subnautica
The ocean is goddamn terrifying
Red acts is like toothless
This is literally my most favorite netlix movie and its getting a sequel mostly focusing maisie brumble
You should also watch the wish dragon ,ove the moon and Vivo those are also Netflix movie those are very good
I always thought that this movie took an inspiration not just from HTTYD (mostly with the design and some parts of the plot), but ALSO from Moby Dick (the novel about an albino sperm whale known for attacking whale hunters and destroying their ships. It had become too smart for the hunters, and it actively defended its pod. Sound familiar?)
18:22 Imagine having Thalassaphobia and seeing that.
If you wanna say oh aaaa
I love Sea Beast!!!! I've watched it like 3 time and it is incredible!!! It was created from the directors of Moana and Big Hero 6.
37:42 - 38:07 aaauuuuch what a pain 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I thought of a name for red’s species. “Dragon eel” a mix of a dragon and an eel
Jacob was still in the water and saved Crow 😊
Netflix hired the people who worked on Moana and another movie that i forgot the name of, so a very good animation team.
I thought you would not watch this movie because it’s a Netflix movie and I so glad you did
I’ve been seeing way too many people calling it a HTTYD rip off- calling it that does this movie a huge disservice! This movie was amazing and while it did have some of the same tropes as HTTYD, it’s way different and a wonderfully written story.
Yeah I don't see why people think red looks like toothless. Toothless looks like an axolotl, cat, lizard while red looks like a seal, viper and red being smooth makes sense considering the seal like design. Also I do like that they didn't just make it that the sea creatures are all nice and misunderstood they instead are simply animals that have been taught to hate human ships over the many years of being hunted down. Red is just a more intelligent sea beast who dislikes human ships but is very curious about new things and doesn't automatically hate humans just human weapons mainly
17:56 no she isn’t scared, she is realizing that they are all going to die unless they cut the ropes.
He literally said that 8 seconds later. 18:04
Based on How to Train Your Dragon, the Sea Beast movie is the best one
I love this movie so mouch becuse its a pirate Version from How to train your Dragon und Red Loks like Tothless
it was maisie who free the beast from ropes
You should watch wolf walkers 😋
I looked it up and Red is a female.I think you'll like the Netflix series Dragons: Race to the Edge. Also bluster means to talk in a loud, aggressive, or indignant way with little effect. It's crazy to me that the guy that plays Butch from The Boys plays Jacob.
And Éomer in Lord of the Rings!
And Doctor Bones McCoy in the new StarTrek movies.
Super solid movie. Wasn’t as compelling to me as some of the best animated movies I’ve seen like spirit, finding nemo, toy story 3, httyd, etc but it’s definitely a good one
Wassup bro
I’d like to see these hunters face godzilla…
What if he watched “Where the wild things are”
It's toothless 17:20
I love this movie. You should aLso react to Storks (2016) and Ron's Gone Wrong.
Love the movie
Is it me or is blue similar to a pug, cause I see a water pug.
Subnautica fans standing strong 😌
I hate the deep blue so u forced myself to watch this lol
Can you react the movie "chickenhare and the hamster of darkness"?
🤘🤙
👍
Red is actually a female
Please react to Next Gen
Very cool! Thank you for sharing!
If your reading this I hope you have a great day and know. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV
STOP FAKE CRYING, NOTHING SAD EVEN HAPPENED IN THE BEGINNING......and yes....I do play subnautica....it's a good game.😒
I love this movie it reminds me of how to train your Dragon just me?
Your not the only one who thinks that. This films plot is similar to HTTYD.
👍
