I was surprised by that level of reparability reparability in 2023. It’s great to see products designed for longevity, moving away from a trash construction. This is a shift that should be more widespread.
It is a shame they didn't pute the boombox 2 battery in the speaker it would be a lot better but the encore essential isn't too much only £150 and you are already getting a lot for that price buy they could of at least pute a bigger battery in it

No. I cross referenced the battery wattage/voltage, and bought a new one on ebay. Using this video I was able to take apart the speaker until i got to the battery housing. I simply (carefully) unplugged and swapped the batteries. Ill add "BE VILIGANT" about the bluetooth antenna. I had to take it all apart again when I realized the signal range was shorter. Only to find the antenna was unplugged lol. Its fairly easy if you're comfrotable with DIY/tech. Good luck@@leonbart4893

@@fredvoid5976 Partybox Encore / Encore Essential are both Boombox 3 killers, JBL wouldn't let they own cheaper speakers crush more expensive ones. So there's a tradeoff, cheaper but with less battery life... Sad but hey. I prefer the tuning of Partybox Encore compared to Boombox 3, as Encore is more neutrally tuned compared to Boombox 3. If you want a neutral-ish kind of sound, still with ~90% of Boombox 3 bass output and a large battery, Boombox 2 is still a very nice speaker and can be found cheaper too 😉
Bigger driver is more efficient...thus why it requires less battery capacity...where as smaller driver or we can where space is play important roll at there we use less efficient drive...thus they required large battery capacity...

I have the partybox encore and the insides are totally different. I had to open mine because I wanted 17000 mah instead of 7000. I did brake some of the pins holding the sides and the bottom, but after I've assembled it it looks fine and it holds good
How did you manage to upgrade the encore? Did you buy a New battery with 17Ah or did you Set multiple in parallel? I have the Problem that I bought the encore second Hand and didn't know about the low battery. And I'm now looking for a save way to upgrade the battery
Theb Partybox has more sub bass and mid bass. Just overall more bass. But the boombox gets louder and has better instrument separation. I have the boombox 3 and it's amazingly good

the acoustis are insane but they lack audio quality, I hope soon they get LC3 or LHDC or at least LDAC but LDAC is licensed by sony and its kind of expensive, I just still not knowing why speakers are having such highquality things but still using SBC or AAC bluetooth audio. Only sony is using LDAC in their speakers, idk why they dont implement it everywhere.

What I learned from this video is that JBL was going to call this the Partybox 10, but at some point in production after they already had all the component boards made, they were like "nah, that's stupid. Let's call it the Encore Essential" and then still shipped them out the door without changing anything because why would you lmao
That's a small battery. For a device that size, I'm surprised they would use such a small battery. It seems like a common occurrence in "party speakers" the battery life lacks when these are cranked.
@@thatyoutubeguy7583 Yeah man. That's decent. I have a life jacket jolt with the lights. It claims 32 hours of battery life. When it's cranked and the lights are on.. I get maybe a few hours of play time. It uses two 18650 cells in parallel. 3.7v 4400mah. It has wireless charging and usb out. I don't know how speaker manufacturers get the exaggerated run times. "32 hours at 50 % volume".... They should give an honest evaluation of battery life using the lights and running at full volume. I plan on modding mine. I plan on swapping these lithium cells and using two 3500mah Samsung Vape cells in parallel for a 7000mah lifespan. I'd figure it would last more than a few hours at full volume. And hopefully get me through a shift at work.
