  • Why do Minecraft Endermen hate being looked at? Are they shy and hate eye contact? Actually, they get mad for a much darker reason.

    Ender Dragon Theory:
Judging by the dragon heads on the end cities, there were probably once many more ender dragons. While the endermen were enslaved, the ender dragons were hunted to extinction to obtain the dragon head. The end cities are wonky and tall because their purpose was to hunt and kill ender dragons. Dragon heads were a valuable and admired trophy, a sign of power or something.

My headcannon was Enderman were the dragon's forced minions, whether they're created or enslaved was a mystery but that the Ender-Dragon sent them out as scouts, capable of seeing through their eyes to search for anybody who dared oppose it. Even if it meant moving dirt or stone to find you. If found, he commands them to attack.
However, I think once you're fighting the dragon some enslaved Enderman feel maybe if they risk helping you they can be freed.

I think that endermites were originally silverfish but they came into the end they did NOT like it, so they decided to hide in the ender pearls of a enderman. Due to the radioactive energy inside of the enderpearls, they mutated into endermites. The reason endermen dont like endermites it because sometimes the endermites would come out of the pearls and nibble on the enderman. If there was enough pearls and enough endermites, they could eat the enderman. So there ya go. I explained the minecraft endermites.

Endermen are the ancient builders who found their way to the end, created the end cities, and were mutated by parasites from the endermites in the pocket dimension of the ender pearls and get angry because your face reminds them of what they once were. The end crystals are to protect the last ender dragon because the rest had been killed. (Note the dragon heads on end ships.) The elytra were made from the scales of the ender dragon. The shulkers were made from the souls of the ancient builders who died and pieces of end stone and their shells were made of purpur. (The teleportation came from the chorus fruit that the purpur was made of.)

The only part i don't like about this theory, is the dragon.
The dragon makes mechanical noises at death and it explodes in pieces. Also the head can be activated with redstone(?!?!?!?!??!?!) so it's kinda obvious it's a machine. :v
The egg doesn't fetch. Ofc it could simply be infertile, but i still think it's not a real egg. Although i don't have a theory on what it is exactly and why it should teleport when tried to be taken. The dragon doesn't have the ability to teleport, unlike all End inhabitants, as if the dragon is either not an End inhabitant, or is a machine. And this makes it weirder the fact that the egg teleports but not the dragon. Which is why i don't think the egg is an actual dragon egg. They simply don't allign.
The dragon heads that you find on the ships, might be just from the prototypes of the dragon.

There’s a popular theory out there that Endermen were once a race of Ancient Builders who got trapped in the End. The theory is that long ago some Ancient Builders were experimenting with portals when they stumbled across the discovery of the End Dimension. They sent some scouts to the dimension to explore it, but something went wrong and they got trapped on the other side in the End. Being in a strange new land out in the open with the constant threat of the Ender Dragon over their heads, the trapped explorers fled to the outer islands for safety. With limited resources the Ancient Builders made due with what they had, building structures out of surrounding materials. Despite living in such a barren waste land they still found ways to make astonishing accomplishments. They created new light sources using Blaze Rods they brought with them through the portal and Popped Corus Fruits. They also found two new forms of storage, using Blaze Rods, Ender Pearls, and obsidian they found a way to make a chest that could teleport their items anywhere they wanted. They also used Skulker Shells and chests to make boxes that could hold large quantities of items that they could carry wherever they went. And perhaps their most impressive achievement was their invention of the Elytra which allowed them to fly and travel great distances across the End. However when it came to food all they had were some beetroot seeds, but without soil to plant them, they ended up storing them away. Instead they had to live off the native Corus Plants and ate nothing but Corus Fruit, however the fruit had the unfortunate side effect of teleporting whoever ate it. This meant ever time the Ancient Builders needed to eat they also teleported at random. With nothing but Corus Fruit to eat and the exposure to constant darkness over time they eventually began to go mad. Their bodies began to change, they became tall, dark, slim armed creatures with glowing purple eyes. The once peaceful Ancient Builders had now become an entirely new race and dubbed themselves the “Endermen.” Eventually the Endermen developed the ability to teleport on command without the aid of the fruit and spread quickly across the End hopping from one End Island to the next. At some point the Endermen learned how to not just teleport great distances, but between dimensions. After countless years of being stranded in the End, the creatures the were once the Ancient Builders had finally returned to the Overworld and also found ways to teleport to other dimensions like the Nether. While some chose to leave the End Dimension most of the Endermen decided to stay because it was the only home they had known for so long. Today Endermen are found in every dimension. They are elusive, mysterious, and are often seen picking up and placing random blocks without a real objective other than them reflecting on the creative intelligent race they once were. They know about us and normally want nothing to do with us other than occasionally steal our building supplies. But for the most part they just wanna be left alone and hate being looked at. If you stare at an Enderman directly in the eyes it will attack you. The theory is that when we look at them, we remind them of their past life and what they once were which drives them into a blind rage as they know they can never get that life back.

Here is my theory about the elder dragon when you beat it. It plays a credit scene which is skippable, but if you read and wait through it, the credits or ending dialogue is quite interesting. There are 2 or more speakers, that seem to be conversing with each other, talking about things like existentialism and the Minecraft world. It’s boring to read however so unless you really are interested, then don’t waste your time. Upon skipping or completing the credits, the game will spit you out at your spawnpoint, being your bed if that’s the last place you slept. You can also break the Ender Dragon egg in a number of ways, but it has no uses other than being a trophy. Break it with a piston to get it. You can also summon the Ender Dragon so that you can kill it again if you want to, but it requires materials I don’t remember a lot about.

0:19 Enderman: *Im just gonna walk through the block without anyone noticing me..* Edit: Here’s a theory about the end cities. The Endermen DID build them, because before, they could pick up any block in the Minecraft universe, even bedrock. They collected chorus plants and made them popped chorus, then they made purpur blocks out of them. Then, they made End Stone bricks out of the End Stone. But after this, the ancient builders got them to work so much that they forgot how to pick up most blocks, so now they can only pick up specific ones. This is a theory about the elytra. The Endermen were the only species that roamed the end, and they could only teleport, but couldn’t go high up, and fly. So, here’s a theory. They went to the overworld, and tried to kill some phantoms with resources they had, and they got phantom membranes. And they made elytra out of the many they had. They kept the elytra in End Ships, with two chests containing powerful loot. Then, a wired mob, known as the shulker was discovered when Endermen destroyed more chorus plant trees. First, the shulker was just a small shulker head that bounced around, but when they aged, they grew shells and in size, and their shells were very light, that’s how people can use them as backpacks. The shulker bullets come out of the shulkers hidden mouths under their head. The lines beside their head represent scars that they got from the injuries they took from when their chorus plants were destroyed. Now, they live in End Cities. This is a theory about the Endermen s eyes. Endermens eyes used to be green, how the ancient builders discovered Endermen atleast. They killed many Endermen, and before the ender pearl was invented, Endermen dropped their eyes. But then, a wired plant started to grow in the end, the chorus plant. They ate some of the fruit that the plants produced, and their eyes became purple from a wired powder that came from the fruit. The reason eyes of ender are still green is from the ancient Endermen, well, the Endermen from the past. The nether mobs found out how to make endermens eyes, cause they thought that they were rare and powerful. So they tried to kill Endermen, but because Endermen are very powerful mobs, the nether species couldn’t get a SINGLE Pearl from the Endermen (when they were invented). So there’s three theories that might make sense in any way.

Yes, the theory about the Endermen's eyes makes sense.
Here is how it makes at least a bit of sense:
Through a player's view, the Endermen are black, with a purple aura and purple eyes.
Though, if you go into spectator mode and click on an Enderman, you will be seeing through its vision. (I'm not sure what version(s) this is exclusive to.)
An Enderman view is inverted of the player's. Through their view, black would be white, and purple would be green; so this can make a sense, since their eyes and aura originated to be green. The dragon could have also been keeping the Endermen from leaving the end, I would say a while after shulkers had started to evolve, it appeared. That would then keep the Endermen from going into the overworld, so they could not upgrade it anymore. That's why the end cities haven't changed, and every end city is either smaller or bigger. I also think the dragon was one of the ancient builders pets; and it cams from a unknown part of the end.

I thought that maybe there used to be two types of players, and one of the types (let's call them the red group) were extremely smart and lived in the end. The other group (the blue group) got very jealous of what they could do, and decided to hunt them down. They built a portal so they could get to the end, and also built bases there, where they planned their attack. Of course they needed supplies, so they kept things like armour and food, which you can find in the chests nowadays. They also brought wings, which they called elytra, so they could easily fly away if needed. They glitched out a few mobs, and turned them into what we call shulkers. Anything the shulkers touched, would become glitched. One day, they decided it was time. To defeat the red group. They made the shulkers launch bullets at them, making them glitched. During the glitching, something that wasn't meant to happen, happened. Instead of just defeating them, all their smartness was transferred to the blue group. The blue group, in a hurry to get back to the overworld, ran back through the portal, leaving the shulkers behind. The blue group are now what we call endermen. For a very long time, they tried to get the shulkers back to normal. When they did, the endermen told them all about what the blue group did to them. The shulkers asked to try to change them back to glitched, but make them attack the players. After a long time, they succeeded. The shulkers would now attack the players, making them glitched. Instead of completely glitching them, instead they made them fly upwards, away from the endermen. But one of the mob's reprogramming didnt go so well, and it became overpowered. But it still guarded the endermen, and became what we now call the ender dragon. PLease like this comment if you think my story might be true!!😀😀😀

If you smile at a monkey, they will start to get mad and act aggressive, perhaps this is the same thing with the Endermen and their stare, staring might be an enderman's way to issuing a challenge to one another, the sounds they make might also be their primal communications, learning a few words from the ancient builders after they went to the end, I would also like to think the enderpearls drop from endermen on account of that being some sort of organ, one that allows them to teleport. As for the shulkers, the ancient builders might have constructed those as a form of defense system, which would explain why they only appear around end cities. Going back to the endermen, I would like to propose that they're not ancient builders that were mutated from the end, rather, they're a primal race, like cavemen on the cusp of innovating fire.

That is one hell of a theory, and I really like it. It explains everything pretty well!
I also have my own theory, and it's a crazy one.
Here's my headcanon on Endermen, and why they hate eye contact.
NOTE: I wrote all of this *Before* watching the video. Also, a TL:DR is at the bottom.
My theory comes down to this. Endermen were once players, making them technically Primates. Now, people can be intimidated by eye contact, biologically this makes sense, in almost all primates *eye contact is basically a challenge* and this usually means a fight.
As for why endermen are primates... oh boy. Get yourself comfy, this will be long.
When prehistoric players found the end, it wasn't nearly as barren as it is now. There wasn't many native animals, and all the animals brought to the end died out, with players being the exception. The reason why was the prehistoric plants of The End, especially their equivalent of grass, were toxic and when the cows and sheep brought ate it, the toxins in the grass killed them. Ender Dragons were the only animals that these players knew about. But although nests had been discovered, no one had seen one before.
It was only a matter of time. A player found a Dragon. And this dragon was not happy about it's new intruder, err, lunch. This dragon killed that player and went on a rampage and in the chaos, the Ender Dragon destroyed any chance of these players getting home. Although this particular Ender dragon is long gone, you might of met it's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-granddaughter/son, which would go on to be the last of it's kind. Anyways...
After millennia of only being able to eat food from the end's plant life, many different evolutionary changes occured in what are now Endermen. (and yes this means Endermen are technically herbivores if you agree with me)
Firstly, in order to absorb more heat from the cold environment, these players evolved more melanin in their skin in order to have darker skin tones for absorbing more light and heat.
Secondly, in order to reach chorus fruit, these players evolved to be taller and have longer limbs than their overworld versions. This also means they can't fit in their armor anymore.
Thirdly, they needed those insane teeth they have is for to break chorus trees to get to the water in them.
And lastly, they get the ability to Teleport because of all the chorus fruit they ate. Endermen are not born with the ability to teleport.
*TL:DR* Endermen are primates and evolved from players that got trapped by the Ender Dragon's ancestors for millennia all because one player caused a dragon temper tantrum.

I feel as though it’s more of a multi-generational thing, considering the “ancient builders” probably lived a long time ago, also taking into account the state of the abandoned villages, so it would make a bit more sense if the enslaved endermen were the ancestors of the endermen that attack us today and the endermen now have all heard of the stories of the times before the revolution and the fall of the ancient builders, and so, when they attack us, it’s their attempt to avenge all of the innocent endermen who were slaughtered, beaten, and disrespected during the slavery period

The Endermen (like most people say) were once the Ancient Builders and they made the End Cities but when the Builders were out of food, they were eating Chorus Fruit and it turned them into Endermen..

Another theory: (going with game theory's theory) When the ancient builders went in the end and turned into endermen, they had one minor setback that didn't seem impactful in their lives. Whenever someone looks at them in the eyes, they cannot move, thats why they get angry. When mobs look at them, well they can't look at them in the eyes due to endermen being tall and mobs unable to look up. That would also explain when you make an enderman angry from a far distance they do not move when you look at them, but they can still teleport away.

I think that the Endermen were intelligent who just lost their ability to build over time due to a fear that stemmed from the accidental spawning of the Ender Dragon in the same way that the villagers lost the ability to build due to fear of the Wither. As for the eye contact part, it's probably because of that same fear. The illagers were likely booted out of villages for wanting to create new things, something which was shunned by the villagers. The illagers are also likely the key architects of the player, as shown by the blue wool rooms in the woodland mansions and the fact that illagers have discovered a way around death (in a similar way to how respawning works in Survival mode). The Endermen, some of whom having lived through the Wither attacks caused by the ancient builders, attack the player upon eyesight believing that they are one of the ancient builders who reduced their population far below the levels formerly seen in the dimensions other than the End.

we sometimes notice that when we fight the enderdragon some enderman attack the dragon thats because the dragon might have accidently hurt the endermans so they attack at enderdragon and when you team up with endermen make sure that you dont hurt them or so they attack you to make enderman to attack enderdragon is to make dragon attack and enderman sometimes other enderman come help one enderman why enderman afraid of water because there is no water in end so they have not seen water on birth place so they dont know what water is and afraid of it

Me when i was just a noob and started to play mc: Hello mr enderman *looks into his eyes* OH SHI-
me now: *walks up to enderman*
    Enderman: what this guy doin
me: hello ender man *looks into his eyes with an carved pumpkin on my head*
Enderman: *understandable have a good day*
Edit: i think mojang should add an update where if u give the enderman like 20 or more blocks they will be friendly to u even if you look into their eyes.

I don't think that's a really good update because it really doesn't make sense. Also Mojang keeps Minecraft balanced. They can't just add a random update.

The reason they can’t move blocks in the end in the widely accepted theory is because it’s not there native dimension and also they lost there ability to pick up ,ost blocks

Or most likely many ancient builders farmed enderman but keeping still many as slaves. Shulkers most likely we're inhabitants who possibly lived underground or around islands before settling in the end cities after some time of the builders being missing.
Basically that's my idea for why we see ender pearls within the chest's. Pretty simple if you ask me.

I like this theory more than the other ones, but still brings the question of how endermen were created

I think there dead player corpse’s that are turned into endermen.
