      Definitely didn’t realize the potential issue of using a line. I typically use it to spread out from AoE fire and make enemy units have to take more time moving from unit to unit

      Thanks for the comment! In BAR, just about everything has its tradeoffs - the deeper you understand what they are, the more effective they’ll be. If you don’t see a potential issue with something, that’s a great opportunity to look closer, and see what you can find!
      Lines are definitely useful for the reasons you point out, too. Everything has its place :)

    Awesome. I always tend to draw line for the units to make them all fire. But after this game I have learnt that line is not always the best option.

      The goal is definitely to have as many more firing than the opponent as you can, but a line is certainly not always the best way to achieve that!

      As a good early game example. Circling your pawns around a target will be absolutely devastating.

    Thanks for this valuable insight. I wonder how other vehicle units should be micro'd since they operate differently. Maybe medium tanks would not be able to do this drag and pull style due to slower turn radius on their movement and turrets as well as hitbox complications.
    I guess the issue is that there's no real way to learn hitboxes and mechanics without finding them yourself or learning about them through more experienced players

    • @MasterBel2
      @MasterBel2  Год назад +1

      Hitboxes can be revealed by all players on their own - or you can simply observe whether units fire through each other or don't - but that's insignificant compared to the greater principle.
      The greater principle is to pick fights where you can shoot, but the enemy can't shoot back, and there are a few ways to do this: Outrange, manoeuvring, EMP, attacking laser weapons during an energy stall, etc.

    Great video Bel, but how does one get to know all these details, e.g. tanks firing over each other but bots do not?

    • @MasterBel2
      @MasterBel2  2 года назад

      Half just noticing it when it happens, half paying attention to people who notice things. I noticed that blitz/flash fire from behind each other a while ago, but I assumed it was because they were so low to the ground they had to fire upwards at their targets. But recently someone else pointed out somewhere that the real reason is that hitbox doesn't cover the weapon, which is unusual for BAR. Usually the hitboxes are a bit too big, rather than a bit too small.
      Also, it's not exactly fair to say that tanks fire over each other - missile trucks don't, for example. And it's not fair to say that bots don't, because any arcing plasma bot does (if their target isn't too close) - e.g. thug/mace/fatboy.
      Blitz is an exception here because its hitbox allows it to fire "through" other blitz, because the hitbox doesn't cover the weapon.

      Realistically light tanks imply that. Gun is in relatively high position and the turret is smaller than chassis. So that leaves assume space to fire through

    • @MasterBel2
      @MasterBel2  2 года назад

      Maybe, but the fact they can shoot directly through the turret of each other is a little more iffy.
      Idk what impact it has on performance, but two-piece hitboxes exist - see the basilica for example.

    Global advantage is irrelevant, what it counts is local advantage.
    Nice guide, how to create local advantage.

      @MasterBel2  Год назад +1

      Nice observation, but I’d adjust it: global advantage is deeply relevant - it allows you to make local advantages in more places!
