    He's gone now. I wish there were more videos of him. I wish they had got in touch with him and done more of this captured his knowledge to share with others. I didn't know anything about him until after he was gone and then I found out he didn't live too far from me maybe about an hour. There are other master gunsmiths out there that I wish they would record their knowledge to share to everybody because once they're gone their knowledge is gone. All of these techniques that he has once they're not once they're gone, they're not shared. We lose that information and that's that's a tragedy

    Why fit the handle then take it off? Harden it first then fit the handle. I suppose after 130 years in the trade he knows what he’s doing

      After hardening the metal will be slightly larger. Handle will then have better friction fit.
