Hello friends, tragic here once again! This run was probably the most fun I had out of all the solo operations I did due to the fact that, over the course of recording different runs, I eventually realized I could probably do it without ever using a Stimm Pack. On my first no-stimm attempt, it all came together! So Bulwark is pretty... pretty... pretty good. While it may be obvious, the trick is to really be patient. Letting the enemies come to you give you a massive advantage as a Bulwark. Sure, you CAN run while blocking shots from the front (automatic when you run), but holding your ground lets you dictate the terms of engagement. Bulwark has a perk that spawns a Shock Grenade effect when you perfect parry. This is on a 30s CD, so it's useful in every fight. They also have a perk that boosts damage dealt to enemies inside of a Shock effect by 25%. They ALSO have a perk that spawns the same Shock Grenade effect when they lose their armor (180s CD). What this means is, when you are dug in, perfect parrying puts an AOE that weakens any enemy that comes near. They also have a perk near the end of the tree that causes Shield Bash to knock down / stagger enemies for longer. While it didn't seem exceptionally good on Majoris enemies and larger, it works wonders on scrubs because it simply knocks them all down. Plasma Pistol is an incredible sidearm for killing groups of scrubs and interrupting sentries calling for help. You need the perks that reduce shot cost from 10 to 5, and getting extra ammo is very useful as well. Parry into charge shot. Charge Shot into Charge Punch. Charge Shot into another Charge Shot, etc. It all works. The final key to the puzzle is the perk that grants max "Contested Health" (Recoverable Health) when placing the Banner. Getting an enemy into execution range, planting it, then executing refills your health entirely. This also works for allies, but they have to execute very quick... so having someone on comms is probably best for this strategy. Note: There's a fun move at 4:50 where I wait to execute until I hear the elite "emerge" sound so that I'm invulnerable. Standing out in the open and waiting can get you in trouble. This technique allowed me to go invulnerable and force the elite to pick a different target. Once free, I could determine what to do next. Bulwark is an absolutely great class for solo or team play. Just keep in mind that they take time to ramp up (exp required!). If you are OK with gameplay that focuses around standing your ground and focusing on parrying, shield bashing, punching, and charge shotting...this is the class for you! Note: For people wondering why I used the Power Fist over the Power Sword, it's partially due to using the sword in a previous coop video, and partially because I hadn't seen any hard difficulty Power Fist gameplay. I also really like some of the executions! Power Sword is an excellent weapon and is just as viable!
@bencureton Apexzilla here, Damn you made both classes look top tier, thanks again for the awesome breakdown. Was there a mechanical choice on your melee weapon or was it just a fun factor?
Not only that, but it was a shield execution, which i personally haven't seen before. It looks like there are only a few execution animations, but Im starting to think there are more than is oresented because it kind of seems like they're contextual to which side of the enemy you approach. Im not 100% on that, though, haven't really watched for it closely.
@Blackthorn869 It is an older build, for sure there could be more executions we haven't seen as of yet. From the videos I've watched I believe I've seen all the possible variation of executions.
@@Blackthorn869 There is an achievement for performing 50 unique finishers (executions), thus I assume there to be at least 50 unique ones. Just how _unique_ they all are, remains to be seen.

I think Bulwark with a Tactical and Heavy could be a pretty sweet set up; Bulwark holds the line while the Heavy takes down auspex scanned enemies. You can probably make any combo work, but that's just speaking to me.
That's the beauty of the Bulwark IMO, you can pair it with just about any backline ranged unit and it'll probably do just fine. The Heavy is a great partner if you want to just mow through hordes, but given that the Bulwark already handles hordes pretty well I'd probably opt for a Sniper instead to pick off high priority targets that might be hiding at the back. Hm, let me see what the Codex Astartes has to say on the matter...
Looked like the Bulwark was the one in the back most of the time though. The bots cleared most of the hoards and he rushes in for qte executes. Actually, I’m pretty sure he was firing the plasma pistol more than he ever swung his fist.
@chetmanley1885 I'm thinking tactical with a assualt and a bulwark is cream of the crop auspex plus the range and the 2 close quarter melees or any range for that matter.

Great vid as always. Just a suggestion you guys should select the 4k upload option when you upload to RUclips. Doesn't matter if the original recording isn't 4k. It will allow the people to select the 4k quality option on your videos which has much less compression. Even if the original content isn't 4k or the person viewing it isn't on a 4k monitor everyone still benefits from the lower compression.
Powerfist, for me personally is one of the most powerful and no-brain items to use in the game. People who are, and for obvious reasons, bigging up the sword.....try the powerfists, you won't regret it! 😉

We have yet to see the highest difficulty the game has to offer. It's also not really fair to compare horde size with other games considering you are quite limited in ammo and defensive options in this game compared to L4D and Tide games. Holding down block buttons or spamming shoves are considerably easier strategies than relying on perfect parries and dodges as a defense option.

@bencureton So is it fair to say that all of the classes and various combos of weapons are definitely usable? I've been looking for a word to describe this game. I think I've got it now after watching that Lictor get ripped apart. This game is crunchy. Very crunchy.
Bulwark, tactical, and sniper would be the dmg combo, but you could swap the sniper for others, like vanguard if you want more balance or assault if you want explosive power. I'd say heavy if you want more of a defensive stance.
How is the chain sword on Bulwark? I never see anyone using it. I understand that power sword is probably better all around, but does chain have a use anywhere or is it just straight up outclassed by power sword? Also, are the weapons that have "block" any good or is having an actual parry just too important to mechanics?
We need a good Multiplayer ! They could ingretate Tyranids as playable as well: Every human nid-player is a type of an Brood Warrior and can summon hormagaunts & termagaunts in waves and send them in.... Then we would have 3 playable factions: SM / CSM / Nids in MP .....
Want to actually know how to beat any Ops level as a solo Bulwark? Just run them until you don't get a zoanthrope spawn. If you do, may as well restart because you're literally powerless against an airborne enemy, and your AI buddies will take literally 5+ minutes to kill it while it completely ignores them and attacks only you while you literally cannot fight it in any way whatsoever if you run out of the 8 bullets you can carry with you at any given time. Great job Saber Interactive, no notes.
In any class-based game I play, I always choose mage or tank. Aaaand, given that there's no playable Librarian or other psyker in SM2... BULWARK IT IS.
Don’t know Much about warhammer ,smalls bits and pieces but is it default for new players to instantly favorite bulwark and chaplains? I’ve always been into that medieval catholic goth looks ,painting, architecture, and that orthodox chants musics etc. and i instantly have been learning their lore once I saw the armor lmao
Something I just thought about. Are armor pips visible when playing with other players? It's unnecessary information on the HUD for bots, but can you see how other players are holding up? I think that would be a good way to improve communication between randoms, especially when they don't have a mic. I wouldn't want it to be too cluttered on the left corner there, but an icon that shows when a squad mate is running low/out of ammo and grenades would be nice too.
@@bencureton It would at least let your team mates know that you need an execution to get your armor back up or your running low on ammo. I think that's something Saber should at least consider adding.
So much plasma pistol. I guess it makes sense to do as much work as possible in solo, but I feel in multiplayer you'd be fighting for ammo against the ranged classes.
Damn, I really wish gore would stay on the SM's through the operation - it looks sick after the executions. The books talk so often of SMs being absolutely caked in gore after battles/during battles. It would be a lot more immersive if they made this as some sort of progressive aesthetic. When blood dries it turns a bit browny so it could have layers which diminish over the course of a lot longer space of time and grow a lot less vibrant and red as the time passes, and eventually disappearing as layers over time, especially if you're like a Sniper or Heavy class and don't actually engage in as much close combat. Perhaps in those cases it would be the case of having visible armour wear, scuffs and chips on pauldrons etc staying throughout the operation as you get hit/hurt. Burn marks from the acid on the battle plates. I wonder how difficult it is to implement this type of mechanism in the game. Also slings for primary weapons and weapons hanging off the characters as they switch to melee weapons etc, or at least secured on catches when you're not using them - a lot harder I suspect, but would also be pretty amazing and immersive. I know it sounds nit-picky but this is the kind of detail the books go into ALL the time, and the devil is in the detail. It would make this game from what I think looks like 9/10 into 11/10.

How dare you make power fist look this badass. I never expected to question power sword but how could any loadout possibly top this!?
With that title and reputation, was hoping he'd be in Imperial Fist colour.
After playing all the melee weapons, I'm curious to know what his favorite is and why.
Local man fistfights horde of velociraptors.
More at 11.
love all the class gameplays and i wanna level them all up now ❤️ but cant denain that bulwark got a special place in my heart ❤️
@bencureton what made you use Power Fist over the other options in this run?
Just a challenge. I'll use Power Sword in a MP vid. :)
@@bencuretonah! Just wondering if it was a better choice given the sidearm or perks, thanks!
Bulwark class+Black Templar=Might of the Emperor.
I want this to be my Main in the Ops missions. Gonna get as close as I can to an Imperial Fists 1st Company Vet
Wait time out they have audio emotes. PLEASE GIVE US A “BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD ARMY AND SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE.”
I can't play for another week but it's already my game of the year
Yooo can you show every weapons perks i dont think there is any videos on it and would love to craft up some builds before the game launches
This is the class im most excited to try.
You play a Carcharodon marine and you don’t use a chainsword? Heresy.
Don’t know
Much about warhammer ,smalls bits and pieces but is it default for new players to instantly favorite bulwark and chaplains? I’ve always been into that medieval catholic goth looks ,painting, architecture, and that orthodox chants musics etc. and i instantly have been learning their lore once I saw the armor lmao
I am loving these videos.
Casually talking about space bible study while executing an evil space bug is the real male fantasy.
They are not, unfortunately. I hope they add that in the future!
@@bencureton It would at least let your team mates know that you need an execution to get your armor back up or your running low on ammo. I think that's something Saber should at least consider adding.
@@dannyavarice 100%!
I wish the Carcharodon space marine would whisper during the fight.
So much plasma pistol. I guess it makes sense to do as much work as possible in solo, but I feel in multiplayer you'd be fighting for ammo against the ranged classes.
Hey Kodiak! A little advice please:
Power Fist or Power Sword? Fist looked somewhat bad in my very limited experience.
What do you think? Thanks.
Power fist is really good when you upgrade it and learn it, power sword is also really good
both are great. personally i like the sword more.
@@mountainman42 I like the Lore and Execution animations of Power Fist and I want to love it, but it seems so bad.
FINALLY! This will be my main class
Can't wait to see everyone pushing that crate of explosives on this mission lol
This game looks amazing.
Whenhe runs he sounds like he is wearing a giant diaper that hasn't been changed in two weeks.
I have been waiting for this.
Power Fist and Shield is such a weird combo
Only thing I need to see is the performance on ps5. If it looks strong I’m getting for sure. Let’s get it!!
I need a video on how to catch the blue parrys I'm having trouble getting that down
Woo fist and shield combo!
