There is also the thing about "cancel culture" which really is just changing social norms.
That people have to fear their word choice and have to be careful what they say as to not offend someone has been a thing since before civilization itself existed.

    • @MrMarinus18
      @MrMarinus18 10 месяцев назад

@elfrjz "Cancel culture" is a buzzword to demonize a very normal process: Social norms.
And yeah different ideologies have different social norms and a group of people bound by ideology will react with disapproval to people who don't share that one. That's been true since we still lived in tribes.
What is unique about conservatists though is that they deny that these are just social norms. They instead call it "cancel culture" to make it seem like it's something that has never existed before and is a threat to everyone.

Ironically, we can use a quote by the Frankfurt School/Theodor Adorno to describe the psychology of "cultural marxist" scaremongerers:
"For, while people recognize their dependence and often enough venture the opinion that they are pawns, it is extremely difficult for them to face this dependence unmitigated. Society is made up of those whom it comprises. If the latter would fully admit their dependence on man-made conditions, they would somehow have to blame themselves, would have to recognize not only their impotence but also that they are the cause of this impotence and would have to take responsibilities which today are extremely hard to take. This may be one of the reasons why they like so much to project their dependence upon something else, be it a conspiracy of Wall Street bankers or the constellation of the stars. What drives people into the arms of the various kinds of “prophets of deceit” is not only their sense of dependence and their wish to attribute this dependence to some “higher” and ultimately more justifiable sources, but it is also their wish to reinforce their own dependence, not to have to take matters into their own hands- a wish, true, which is ultimately engendered by the pressure under which they live"

It could be enforced by the government or it could be a more representative body like a media union, but if someone is lying or misrepresenting, if someone is blaming ethnic or religious groups for social problems, that person deserves to have their ability to speak on platforms like television and the internet revoked. From a French perspective, in the US you have two right wing parties : Democrats (right wing) and Republican (even more right wing). Also funny, both parties bear a name that does not mean anything, at all. What does it mean to be a "democrat" ? What does it mean to be a "republican" ? Those terms are so vague, many french thinkers refuse to use them, as they are "incantatory terms", you can use to not say anything at all most of the time.
Politics in the US seems drowned in vague undefined terms nobody understands, but people feel strongly about. To me the only VALID analysis of society is the Marxist one, it's the one that makes people understand where they're interests really lie, material interests. The real enemies are exploitative corporations, not black people coming to France for a better life fleeing their sinking ship of a country. Making us work so much for such small salaries, when the boss makes 10 times more than you for the only reason that he can steal so he will.

In the speech she said that the Conservative Party "are engaged in a battle against cultural Marxism". After the speech, she was asked by a journalist if she stands by the term "Cultural Marxism" considering it's far-right connotations and how it's used as a dog-whistle for Jewish people. Braverman's answer was "Yes, I do believe we are in a battle against a cultural Marxism, as I said.". Essentially admitting that she was using it as a term against Jewish people. It's insane how quickly anti-Semitism has been so normalised by Conservatives in the UK but absolutely no one seems to care.

People in general had to be fearful of what they said during McCarthyism. So there's plenty of examples of times when Americans have to be fearful of what they said in the past. The FBI had Black leaders assassinated, like Fred Hampton, for suggesting the establishment of a multi-racial class coalition that renounced capitalism. Farm workers in the 1960s went on hunger strikes to try and secure better wages and safer work conditions through unionizing and faced violent opposition from the state of California. There was the McCarthy era in which dissidents in Hollywood and the media were hounded by government officials for being supposed Communists, and put to trial when they wouldn't rat out their colleagues. Lenny Bruce was arrested multiple times for using swear words in his stand up comedy sets. LGBTQ social events and shows were illegal and subject to routine police brutality. Those are all examples of state-mandated suppression of free speech. Not that one dude's assertion that public criticism due to his personal bigoted or racist comments online constitute an abridging of his First Amendment rights.

There is nothing wrong with correcting yourself if you made a mistake. But that's not what Peterson did. His fearmongering stayed exactly the same, he just substituted a Nazi slogan for a nonsense phrase (Marxism is a modernist philosophy with a grand narrative of history, post modernism explicitly rejects grand historical narratives) while the rest of the conspiracy theory stayed the same. Now, do I think Jordan Peterson is a Nazi? In the sense of wishing death upon Jews, no, not really. But he all the traits that would have made a 1930s German eager to accept the Nazis.

What is going on here is largely down to the psychology within great many people in this world who feel like their enslaving culture is natural, who think patriarchy is a natural way of life, no it is not, and never was based on nurmous studies, it was imposed upon nature as a man-made order and rule, not a way of life within mother nature which can be seen in indigenous tribes which were communist and largely matriarchal, they had no patriarchal system, that's why they were so much in touch with mother nature as a feminine force, patriarchy tried to oppress it instead. This is just one example of many, all the fears of being indoctrinated, notice by what ideology, the one that is freeing us from patriarchy, tradition and culture back into nature and individual self expression as mother nature has intended instead of the patriarchal system, again, where is that bogeyman, what these elite politicians want you to fear, WEF, transhumanism, and all that overblown conspiracy stuff? Those are all capitalists, they are not fighting them, why is Hillary Clinton not in jail, why dont they attack WEF or all that stuff, somehow it is only sold to you as a threat while they are attacking anything that threatens tradition and patriarchy in the meantime, curious isn't it, while they are distrating you with conspiracy theories all along, but not doing ANYfreaking thing about them whatsoever, they just attack minorities, very interesting. How the hell people could be so asleep at this point, it boggles my mind, I used to be a huge conspiracy theorist till the last year, I have even voted for Trump once, I still believe there is something shady about vaccines, but Big Pharma are not attacked, everything goes as it used to, only minorities are being attacked...like what is going on? Antonio Francesco Gramsci 22 January 1891 - 27 April 1937) was an Italian Marxist philosopher, journalist, linguist, writer, and politician. He wrote on philosophy, political theory, sociology, history, and linguistics. He was a founding member and one-time leader of the Italian Communist Party. He wrote about Marxist theory, critical theory, and educational theory associated with his name, such as: Cultural hegemony as a means of maintaining and legitimising the capitalist state...Gramsci suggested that it maintained control not just through violence and political and economic coercion but also through ideology. In line with Gramsci's theories of cultural hegemony, he argued that capitalist power needed to be challenged by building a counter-hegemony. By this, he meant that, as part of the war of position, the organic intellectuals and others within the working-class, need to develop alternative values and an alternative ideology in contrast to bourgeois ideology...According to American socialist magazine Jacobin, Gramsci "is one of the most cited Italian authors - certainly the most cited Italian Marxist ever - and one of the most celebrated Marxist philosophers of the twentieth century.", adding that the Prison Notebooks "allowed his unorthodox Marxism to spread worldwide.
Gramsci's thought emanates from the organised political left but has also become an important figure in current academic discussions within cultural studies and critical theory.

I grew up conservative, my family is conservative and for a long time I thought that conservative meant that people cared for and helped one another. This is what I saw my mother and other members of my family doing. I have since understood that there is a difference between using your conservative faith as a means to help and love people and weaponizing your conservative views to control people. I have also grown to understand the difference between individual beliefs in Capitalism and corporate beliefs in Capitalism. When I say corporate beliefs, I mean the collective whole. I am neurodivergent, ADHD and on the Autism Spectrum. I grew up under insane amounts of bigetry, economically and socially, simply because I was different. I have now changed my political views. I now consider myself socialist and progressive. I realize now that is what I always believed in but I did not know it at the time. I cannot in good conciense support as system that hates and destroys people just because they are different because I would be persecuting myself. I consider myself now to be a Christian Socialist. Why? Because God is love and supporting and helping people is what Christ did and if you look at the ministry of Christ and the early church it is very Comunist and Socialist. My heart is that we all must band together, lock arms in solidarity and work to make this world the beautiful world that it can be where no one is persecuted by any means just for being different. To me, real Christianity is taking chains off of people and setting them free in every sense of the word. I have come to believe that the beauty of Christ has been and is being muddled and destroyed by people who would use the message of love as a means to enslave. I hope that you see my heart here because I struggle with putting thoughts into words.

The big change for me was a small thing - fruit trees in the city. My city hs thousands and thousands of fruit trees. I was thinking as I was eating a pear from a tree "why don't we have fruit trees in British cities?" and the answer struck me - FREE FRUIT. 6:41, No, that's not what conservatives think at all. No one but serious narcissists think that. If you say something (perceived as) racist in current year, in any public forum, your career has a high chance of getting terminated there and then. Likewise, credence is automatically lent, increasingly, to people we acknowledge as "marginalized", because we want to sympathize with them; but this in turn leads to "ordinary" "white males" and so on to being trusted less, and the "marginalized" being conversely treated with more favor than they should. The problems are drawn from radicalized pseudo-progressivism, which has its roots in ordinary progressivism. I imagine conservatives feel threatened by the thought of being bullied by invincible minorities who can do no wrong brandishing the labels of bigotry and -isms against them. In the same breath these people often identify with various progressive movements. So it's no wonder people are scared of this. They are not, however, as shallow as this point makes them seem.

20:25 it’s ironic that they always say that feelings doesn’t matter, yet everything they say and use rely so heavily on feelings.
They say “facts don’t care about your feelings” but their whole business model is built on “feelings don’t care about your facts”

After reading Marx I instantly became a cultural Marxist because I distinctly remember Marx asking for a disjointed capitalist hell scape to become our current day reality and I love it. Every waking second of it.

Would groups like the Amish(omitting the religious aspect, opiate of the people and everything )be considered socialist?

No, because the Amish would be self sufficient and would not depend on socialist collectives and institutions. Marxists hate those people more than they hate fascists.

There are few videos that could be described as life changing, this one is definitely one of those, I went gradually in my focus from the right to the left thanks to your content, but this one definitely sealed the deal in my recruitment. All this comes down to the psychology within great many of people with regards to patriarchal system and their beliefs trying to defend it because they are convinced it is a natural way of life, no it is not, and never was, there's been numerous studies done on this, patriarchy has been imposed upon mother nature through man-made order and rules, it goes against the matriarchal system within indigenous tribes who had basically their own true version of communism or socialism as they were in touch with mother nature as a feminine force, which patriarchy oppressed for centuries. What do these elitist politicians want you to fear and defend, what kind of a system, what ideology is seen as threat in their own eyes? The one that is freeing you from this patriarchal system, and bringing you back to mother nature that honors each and everyone's free self expression, where the individual goes on top in value over any religion or belief system. They are selling you conspiracy theories in the meantime as a distraction while they are attacking anything that threatens this system, tradition and culture, why Hillary Clinton is not locked up, why WEF, AI or trans-humanism is not attacked, because they are all capitalists, they all work together, why is it always just spread around as a threat while the only attacks happen to minorities and deviations from norm. It boggles my mind how could people be so asleep at this point, and I voted for Trump once, I was a huge conspiracy theorist myself until the last year. They want you to fear the dark, destruction and chaos so you could give them more authoritarian power to rule over you. True freedom sits beyond the duality where the dark is transcended altogether so they could not use it to hijack your emotions to support them again.
