  • This sink bridge by Naniwa is very popular. I had the opportunity to test many.
This is not my favorite. You cannot just sit it on the counter. You could modify it but it doesn't come that way. It does not fit every pond. There are several other options that are available that I think are better. I will elaborate in this video.

Thank you for the great idea to use a sheet pan along with a stone holder.

Agree with you. Watching this late at night with no volume so I don't wake my wife up. But looking at the build and features, I see a lot of flaws so nice that you reviewed it for people perhaps considering it.

@@nadm versatility? I'll mainly be doing knife reviews, unboxings and what I call head 2 head. Knife knowledge and education for sure but don't have the time to make it as comprehensive as you, which is why people have your channel :)

I dont know why they didnt put a spring system in the channel? So I added that to mine without compromising the existing structure, it will obviously rust, but now it accomodates my different stone lengths without having to deal with the terrible finger screw .

I'd now personally really love my cars fly. That is my go to. And I agree with you, this thing is a little bit aggravating.

But you can prevent the backward motion of the stone by loosening the rear stop, moving it up to meet the bottom of the stone, and re-tightening it.

Because of the Naniwa's narrow neck, it twists when pressure is applied on either side during sharpening. Does the Suehiro have this problem?

    • @nadm

It doesn't have that problem but it's slides a little bit. It's just a little rickety. I love their stones but I don't love their sink bridge.

Wish i had these videos before I bought my Naniwa as I would have probably gotten the Tojiro which is like 40 euro more expensive than what i paid for the naniwa stone holder and bridge. But I really cannot complain either as they do their job. It fits on my sink and in my polycarb box long ways and never sharpen on my counter or on a table anyway as I can keep the mess in the tub or sink, we do not have beautiful stone counters like you have where the mess is easy to wipe away. Maybe I will pick up a Tojiro anyway down the road and try her out but there isnt a lot of choice out here and import fees are stupid pricy.
Question on the Tojiro though, are those stone holders on there that one sees in the pictures made of plastic? They look like it in the pics
p.s. you could cut 5mm off the slider so it will fit in your sink and would never see it. A few have done it in the forums because they had the same issue as you but they cut an inch off.

I have this sink bridge and i have to say its crap. Its super uncomfortable to reach the screws + it never really tightens properly. The system that should lock in the stone in place is just not thought threw
