FSD is very much about AI. If Elon is right that he can basically port the model from cars to Optimus and have it work, then that’s a pretty huge advantage / moat. That said, I agree it’s expensive as a company. I just think it’s dumb to bet against Elon

Elon makes rockets that burn up in atmosphere, trucks that rust in the rain and the excelerator fall apart while driving causing the truck to be out of control. 2 million cars had to be recalled because of the cars "A.I.". Solar city where are the solar roofs? Where are the hyper loops? Where the are the high speed charging stations he promised? Boring company, he promised hyper speed rail and to use the dirty to make $.10 bricks, never happened. Star link 30% of satellites already don't work or have fallen out of orbit. He bought Twitter and has done nothing but lose money and it's become a cess pool of bots. His robots, all we have seen is his own press and that just them walking slowly across flat clean cement floor. Robo taxis that make $30k a year were just a year off 5 years ago. That's all Elon dose is promise the world in just one years time and he's been doing it for 10 years now. He is a con man, Elon is a fraud, he is selling monorail to Springfield.
FSD does not exist. Put simply, it’s not “full” self driving. It’s supervised self driving. I’ve been using the “FSD” free trial all month and it’s incredibly impressive. I’ve taken friends and family for rides and it’s like stepping into a sci-fi future. Everyone I’ve shown is shocked and did not realize that self-driving technology has come this far. But right now, that’s its only utility. Showing people and having a little fun with it. I suppose it’s a money maker for some content creators, and a topic of discussion. But it has no practical purpose. Absolutely no one is buckling their kids into the backseat and letting their Tesla drive their kids to school. I can’t do work when I’m using it or send it out to pick up a pizza and bring it home. I’m certainly not letting it drive around at 2am by itself to pick up drunks at the bar and drive them home. It’s not even close to reliable. It gets so many things right and is mind blowing most of the time. But it hasn’t taken me to my destination a single time without me having to intervene for construction, a left turn arrow or speed bump it failed to see, a navigation issue, not being able to plan ahead for heavy traffic, handle a blind corner, and so on. Maybe it figures this out one day, and then it’ll still be years before authorities allow tens of thousands of vehicles with no drivers to roam the country unsupervised.
I stand by my statement. To quote somebody who replied, "I’ve been using the “FSD” free trial all month and it’s incredibly impressive." . Does "full self driving" exist yet? No. Is it improving faster that all previous versions? Yes. I expect the Tesla 8-8-2024 announcement to be a game changer.
Kara has long been overly negative about Elon. He has plenty of faults, no need to exaggerate them or downplay his accomplishments. It’s makes her analysis less interesting.
Conflating few thousand deliveries of CyberTruck with “very few sales”, or to say no fresh look (Model S, 3 etc recently refreshed) is either ignorant or disingenuous.

If I based my buying habits on my dislike of a CEO and their opinions, everything I have would be handmade.
