A Cappella arrangement of You Can Fly from Peter Pan, Let's Go Fly A Kite from Mary Poppins and When I See An Elephant Fly from Dumbo performed by Voices and arranged by Jamey Ray
1:28 i love that the soprano did peter pan’s signature tune he plays on his pan flute, it’s so beautiful 🥺
Every couple of months I come back to this video. As a musician, my mind is still blown by the talent and artistry in this group. Yes, the sopranos make my jaw drop every time, but every single person in this group absolutely nails it and makes it look effortless. Thanks as always for a guaranteed happy musical moment :)
You echo my thoughts exactly!
Same
ME TOO!!!! I'm going through some health issues and came here to get some cheering up. It worked!
Me too!
What they all said 👆🏼👆🏻
Green dress's high notes are unreal!
+ErichWilliam JACKIE she is amazing she also sings in the american music machine she is a strong soprano
The name of the green/black dress singer: Jackie Stressman.
She's my best friend mom
I have literally listened to this about 2,000 times. :-P
Jessica Murphy (JAMbeauty89) Me to Jess, and every time I hear it I try to fly. (crap, I forgot I need a little pixie dust)
I can't stop listening to it
Jessica Braun | JAMbeauty89 I think I will catch up to you. Such an amazing arrangement and performance!
Jessica Braun | JAMbeauty89 You and me both... this is utter perfection.
+Jessica Braun | JAMbeauty89 I wil never stop listening this song.
3:35 Green and Blue Soprano, you have won singing and forever are owed a grammy at every awards show. Thank you for your existence.
can we talk about that lady in green and black singing a high C D then up to an F and back down to the D like it was nothing.
+Percussiongirl Total package, amazing voice
And in the film, that's Peter Pan playing his pipe, it's not a vocal. Amazing.
She’s literally a goddess
I know
Percussiongirl i know right?! so good! i wish they put the names of all the vocalists.
As someone who has been professionally trained as a singer for over a decade and done multiple professional performances and recordings, this is insane to watch. Nobody is out of tune for a single beat. They stay perfectly together through the entire song. There are very few groups of singers that are more talented than this one. Absolute insanity.
I've been in choir for almost 2 decades and I've heard great groups, but this is PERFECTION. I've dissected and listened to every part. and there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with it. Their breathe, the vibrato (when called for), the uniformity of even the "solos"- which aren't really solos., the timing... it's all there. Disney singers are just... wow... words don't adequately describe how beautiful it was to listen to. Woah.
This just makes me so indescribably happy
Feeling down?.......things not going your way?.......Listen to this wonderful group, Voctave.....and your troubles will...'fly away!'
Those harmonies are so tight, it's not human, and the soprano, holy moly.
There's a million choir songs on YT.....but there is simply nothing to compare with this matchless, outstanding performance....from those fantastic high notes to the deep bass, the unbelievable timing..and the emotion in the voices. As long as YT exists, I for one will come back to this choir performance of a lifetime. All the names of this excellent performance should be shown here; especially the girl with that amazing high-note voice!....NB...The ending is goose pimple time!
They were all absolutely amazing, but I want to know how in the world that lady can hit AND HOLD those ridiculously high notes. My gosh that was mind-blowing.
My guess is that she hit the high B-maybe C. Respect.
Elsa Castro I believe it's actually a high F.
Dysbulic whatever note it was, that girls not human, that was absolutely incredible!!!!
Ken Bradley She actually hits 2 high F's. At 1:30 - she sings those short little notes (C - F - D) and then the last note. I actually had to double check on the piano while listening - because I just couldn't believe it. Many of the Voices of Liberty arrangements top out at high "Eb" but this is the first I've heard hit 'F." Jamey Ray (the arranger of this medley) also brilliantly arranged the Star Spangled Banner that actually has a high "G" in it - amazingly sung by Tiffany Coburn. The video of the studio recording is actually on Jamey's RUclips page. Check it out!
If i'm not wrong i think she was doing whistle tones. Not very many people can. um Mariah Carey (if i spelled that right) can do them very well
That lady in the green dress, her voice gives me chills!! So awesome
Lyrics:
Think of a wonderful thought
Any happy little thought
Think of Christmas, think of snow
Think of sleigh bells - off you go!
Like reindeer in the sky
You can fly! You can fly! You can fly!
Think of the happiest things
It's the same as having wings
Take the path that moonbeams make
If the moon is still awake
You'll see him wink his eye
You can fly! You can fly! You can fly!
Up you go with a heigh and ho
To the stars beyond the blue
There's a Never Land waiting for you
Where all your happy dreams come true
Every dream that you dream will come true
When there's a smile in your heart
There's no better time to start
Think of all the joy you'll find
When you leave the world behind
And bid your cares good-bye
You can fly! You can fly! You can fly!
You can fly! You can fly! You can fly!
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let's go fly a kite
Oh, let's go fly a kite
Up to the highest height
Let's go fly a kite
And send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let's go fly a kite
I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band,
I saw a needle that winked its eye
But I think I will have seen everything
When I see an elephant fly Oh My
I saw a front porch swing, heard a diamond ring
I saw a polka dot railroad tie
But I think I will have seen everything
When I see an elephant fly Oh My
When I see When I see
When I see an elephant fly
You can fly! You can fly! You can fly!
Let’s go fly a kite
Erica King thank you so much for the lyrics!!
1:21-1:32... Gets me every time. So good!
my god at 1:14 those low notes are unbelievable
Ahh... I miss the Disney Chorus that used to be in the old movies. You guys sound exactly like them. So beautiful and tickling my nostalgia JUST right.
Well spotted!.... the original choir in the Peter Pan movie are superb....but this group is simply outstanding by any measure of excellence and talent.
Watching Saving Mr. Banks and then watching this video resulted in me sobbing the entirety of Let's Go Fly a Kite was being sung
Haven't seen this particular clip for several years, but ... wow, it still explodes my heart. Beautiful voices; extraordinary arrangement. Thanks for keeping this masterpiece in circulation.
My God, the perfect blend here. And the top S1 holding the high F like it's NOTHING, with that beautiful shimmer vibrato at the very end. wow.
All three of these songs make me cry the most, I have no idea why. To have them all together is amazing!
Miss this magical fantasy side of Disney. You could watch a Disney movie back then & completely felt like you were in a different world. Loved it. Love this video.
So whimsical! So full of magic! I love this medley so much 🧡
The most fantastic and elaborate acapela, most impressed.
I just cannot get enough of these incredible performances of these magical arrangements. I wish I had someone to tell me the secrets of how to get these fabulous sounds. These singers are so perfect. I bet the auditions were TOUGH!!!
The guy directing is Tony who also directs male and female barbershop choruses. Simply one of the best in the business.
Wow...just yes! Good media is worth watching over and this is not my first time watching this. You can't beat real talent.
Who is still listening till today?
Every part just nailed it and then you get to 3:30 - 3:41 and the sopranos just killed it. DAMN!!! I think that high note can only be reached by just a few! If you can reach it, you can only just admire it. They are FANTASTIC. I think this group is the best ever. Can't count how much I've listened to it, but I tell you these guys are great!
Recently one of my friends died in a car crash -- she was 14 -- and listening to this brilliant masterpiece brings a ray of joy in one of the darker times in my life. Thank you for making this art.
This just makes me smile. I’m a Disneyphile, so it’s instant happiness for me.
And how about the talent of these singers; the high notes, the low notes, the swells…so beautiful!
These harmonies are so tight! Amazing stuff!
Yes indeed. They are!
I watch this video religiously. Every time I come on RUclips it's the last video I watch. THE HARMONIESSSSSS
For years, I have come back to this so much and have it on some Spotify playlists too. Guaranteed pure joy every time. I like listening, but watching the video is better because you can see the joy of the music is radiating off of the vocalists.
This has been in my favorites now for YEARS! Such amazingly talented singers, here!
No one is even caring about the really low parts they rocked
those deep bass notes are bloody beautiful!! its amazing
Thank you! No one ever comments on ANY of their videos about their bass. He is ridiculously good
Mohamedxthebest Bruh Agreed. While I definitely point out the sopranos most of the time when I show friends, when you have this going surround sound, those low voices really give this song a PUNCH. I feel it in my soul every time.
Hecka!!
I care baby! He doesn't go super low often here but it's still great.
The chord at 2.45, ah man that is sheer class. Absolutely astounding performance.
so lovely, i cried, because it remembered me when I was a little girl. this memories are forever in my heart.
This is amazing!!
Ali Brustofski Thank you so much for sharing this Ali! :D
Ali Brustofski you're amazing too Ali
Your arrangements are stupid stupid good.
1:49 is my favorite moment. Amazing how our bodies play a role in our voices. "Up!"
Am I the only person who had they're mind blown at 1:27 when the girl with the green and black striped sweater sings with an insane soprano range? Jesus. I cried.
I'm almost blown away. She's so talented ♡
0:32 it said "thick of batman pooping snakes"
Absolutely amazing!!!!
What an unbelievable sound, and yes Jackie has an amazing voice WOW. Every time I listen to this it sends a shiver down my spine. This makes you glad for being alive.
Extraordinary talent and a pure delight.
The most wonderful of all instruments is the human voice.
Can I make a request for you to do an arrangement of Sing Sweet Nightingale from Cinderella? You guys would kill it!
That'd be perfect oh my gosh!!
Omg!!!
+Jennifer Loree OMG I WOULD DIEEEE YES PLEASE!!!
sdjkm
Oh My Gosh Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Please do Sweet Nightingale Yes!
It’s so refreshing to see acapella singers who have obviously researched the time period and music style that their songs are supposed to be performed in! This sounds so authentic and classic, I’ll absolutely be using this perfect arrangement from now on. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us!
Like I said....I'm back again...to listen to this extraordinary performance once again. I'm a choir singer; but compared to these stars, I'm a vocal Neanderthal! A click away on YT is the entire musical score for those who would like to see how this masterpiece was arranged!
what is really amazing with these singers is that apart from having a solo or a highlighted area in the arrangement the voices blend. You really can't hear one specific person in each group, and that is so so hard to achieve. Will forever be in awe of this group
Gonna record and save that last chord as a ringtone😏😂 you,re all amazing singers, im blown away hearing y'all sing 👍❤️
This gives me chills every time I listen to it (which is about a hundred times at this point) the harmonies are just unreal. Absolutely amazing.
Still gives me goosebumps. Love this arrangement and those high notes
This medley will always bring me back into a childhood wonderland of nostalgia and put me at peace or spark creativity. Thank you, everyone, who is apart of this phenomenal piece for making something that resonates so much passion.
That was... magical.
Also I think I've fallen in love with Jackie Stressman. That range is incredible.
That’s the old Disney that we all remember. Oh, how I wish we still had Walt, his vision and those wonderful days.
That soprano in the green striped dress... DAYYYYUUUM girl. those pipes tho.
I enjoy this every time I listen to it....true Disney, brings back all my childhood memories from all the Disney movies and shows....these singers are truly amazing...thank you for such great harmonies and memories.
Oh wow. I think I can fly. what an extraordinary arrangement
transition at 1:49 to "Let's Fly a Kite" is by far my favorite part. Brings back memories when I was little.
Incredible..........the human voice can do so many things. It soars......
I've been coming back to this video for years now. It never fails to move me. I'll put it on repeat, listen to it 10 times back-to-back. It's still stunning to me. I get up on Disney movies, like much of you here in the comments. I love these songs. I attended college as a music major, spent most of my time in band (I'm a drummer). But I loved singing in choir and jazz choir as well. I love this stuff. The harmonies are so incredibly tight. And the communication over the whole group is really nice. I only wish there was more of this group I could see.
If you don't get that happy, uncontrollable jitty, warm feeling listening to this then something is utterly wrong with you! LOL #TeamDisney #HappiestPlaceOnEarth
IM VERY HAPPY ITS FRIDAY!
Mario M. Gallardo LOL aren't we all
YA THANK GOD!
Or you just didn't see those movies in your childhood and don't have a nostalgic association with these songs :-p
They really have that "Disney" sound nailed down!
今日は子供の頃のようにピーターパンが来るのを願って眠りに着けそう
ありがとう
well this can prove that the human's voices are the most perfect musical instrument of all time.
This video helps me calm my anxiety and not have panic attacks. Thank you
OMG! The 1st sopranos are AMAZING! Beautifully done!!!
Me and my group are performing this at our show, such a good piece
That note the green dress hits at 1:29! OH MY WORD!!!!
Amazing guys. Great work. Great arrangement. So refreshing to hear this type of delivery in vocals. Very 50s 60s type of temperament so cool to hear that reminiscent of Mr sandman. And I want to marry the lady in green and black stripe dress.LOL. Keep on with the great work., (-"-)
I'm pretty sure that we all want to marry the woman in the green and black dress.
Yep, that makes it unanimous!
Hudi Sandgren yep
Yup, me too buddy.
yes I want to marry her too!!! Her name is #JackieStressman
So well done. I love how Jackie moves. She moves higher when her voice goes higher.
That high F at the end has me in tears. Good God that woman can sing
Listening to this fills me with happiness, they are making Walt proud!
you folks are awesome and there are hints of classic 60s radio jingles in your songs, just amazing. For example, the sound from :13 to :20 - thank you for making my ears happy.
That last note, those goosebumps. WOW.
I've never commented on a video before...but this was amazing. As a musician, music teacher, music supervisor....this is the most refreshing sounding ensemble I've heard in...I don't know how long. I love a capella...barbershop, sweet adelines, whatever...this was great...would love to hear this live!
It took me a while to realize the soprano was singing the Pan Flute high notes during 1:28 X3 I love it
It's so stupid but I started crying as soon as I heard "You Can Fly" because Peter Pan was absolutely the most important movie in my young life.
It's amazing how close to the original choral arrangements these sound.
Words cannot describe how amazed I am by the amount of talent in this clip. Incredible!!!
Holy shit. So these are the voices behind the Disneyland rides.
My marching band just used this as a reference for our Mary Poppins show and the crescendos we had... wow. This medley was a blessing
I literally have this playing on repeat constantly. The soprano harmonies, the tenors, it's absolutely brilliant!
I absolutely love this, they are all quality especially that top soprano Jackie Stressman, really really fantastic by all!
+Andrew Emms thanks for posting her name. She is a true soprano, lovely voice not just classically
i burst into flames at 1:27 how is that humanely possible I would die for her
I listen to this every day... it's pure magic!!! love it!
This is still so insanely clear that it sounds like those highly edited and fake voices you hear on those sheet music previews. Absolutely inhuman talent! Still one of the most vocally impressive things on RUclips. I still don't believe this is real. 💯❤️
Two years later and I still get chills listening to this.
Maria Carey is shaking. Them whistle tones and the tenors/basses I'm in love.
How can anyone in the room focus on their singing instead of just watching and listening to that top Soprano in total AWE!
This is a special treat that I listen to over the yrs .just to remind me .. yes I can . What a talented bunch these folks are ...Remarkable
Love the old disney sound they capture. it has such a nostalgic feel
Complete and utter vocal perfection!
WOW! Goosebumps doesn't quite cover it! Tears of pure happiness does!
Oh my gosh... That was amazing. That last note one of the sopranos hit was incredible.
Reduced to tears!, Nostalgic happy tears, wonderful beyond words! Would love to hear this live!
Amazing! Really like the soprano lady in the green striped dress - made the hair stand up on the back of my neck!
I agree. I believe she has an amazing range.
I Agree! The note she hits at 1:30 is incredible!!
U have hair on the back of your neck?
Kidding lol
Amazing and that top F at the end is insane.
This reminds me of my high school choir. I went to a creative & performing arts school and out teacher was really remarkable.
Thank you for the gorgeous song and for bringing me some very fond memories of making beautiful music.
Still trying to catch the names of some of these guys. Here's what I know for this video:
Sops: ?, Tiffany Coburn, Jackie Stressman
Altos: Sarah Whittemore (girl in the middle) is the only name I know
Tenors: Tony De Rosa, EJ Cardona, ?
Basses: Kurt von Schmittou, JC Fullerton, ?
Anyone know the names of the rest? Also, let me know if I got any of them wrong by chance.
They all have such great vocal qualities, it's amazing! Made me regress back to my childhood Disney days.
