I hate that solder that they used too. First time I tried to de-solder a amiga board I thought my iron was messing up. Very good point to take your time. Those vias will break at nothing.
Great vid Chris 👍🏻 Don’t own a A2000 but good to know what to look out for. Had a go at putting an FPU on my Re-Amiga Chucky board and I must have the touch of death! I somehow now get a Green screen on power up (Chip RAM faulty) 🙄🙄 Oh and I managed to break both of the FPU sockets I was going to use. Oh well! 😳
Can you post a link to where you bought your portable suns that now light your work bench, need to get me some for mine as, I am old also and need better lighting on my bench.
Hey Chris, here is the link to a Video you might have some interest in. It's Edd China he works on retro cars, this video i am linking has some neutralizer and a neutralizer neutralizer for neutralizing the first neutralizer, this is something you might be also interested in to deal with corrosion on copper. Cheers. 9:51 into this video here: ruclips.net/video/LzxeK6yp4hQ/видео.html
@@3viis I've been repairing amiga's for 20 years and i have proven that myth wrong, the NIMH's do leak. I had some start leaking in as little as 2 years. . Coin cells with diode is the only safe thing.
Thanks for fixing my $417, Chris. :) Quality job, excellent turnaround, and my baby is working again!!

Three 7000 lumen lights... You won't even notice the nuclear warheads going off.
Great video love a 2000 repair vid.. Owwwww
If only there were FPGA replacements for all of the quad MOS AMIGA Chips that would fit into the quad sockets.
That varta is the exception, not the norm. LOL

Everyone seems to be replacing barrel with coin cell battery. Why not just use new barrel battery.
Reputation, plus a 2032 is readily available and inexpensove
why would u reinstall a battery known to leak and eat the board?
