  • We got our hands on this LAGOON 51 for over 10 days for a test sail. We set off from La Rochelle across the Bay of Biscay with waves from 5 to 8 meters all the way around Gibrulta on to Ibiza and then the south of France. Here are some of the things we discovered good and BAD.

Nobody has died so we must me doing something right...😂 You had me in tears. Thank you for sharing with us parts of this trip that looked beautiful, except for those big waves in the beginning. It may be a case of the grass always looking greener on the other side (of the Atlantic) but I think that retiring in any of these beautiful coastal towns somewhere between Le Havre in France and Lisbon is not a bad idea.

There are some beautiful spots along the coast here but the Bay of Biscay is a hard mistress sometimes. Glad you liked the tour.

Not a lot of mainsail left lol. Great boat tour made even better being able to do it during a delivery trip with real experienced points covered that you can't do at the usual boat show type tour .

Glad you liked it, after 10 days we got to know this Lagoon 51 quite well and I am surprised at how well she looked after us. I think production cats get a bad press but my mind has been changed.

a great alternative to the pullman bed cabin in the port-side hull would be a utility room - a full-sized washing machine and an extra freezer would fit easily in there, with plenty more space for other stuff.

This model is on the top of our shopping list, how were the speeds under motor and sail?

Glad noboby died or we probably wouldn't have this video! Nice experience, for sure. I believe it's under these conditions that you learn a boat's capabilities and since you're all alive it seems to be good news about her behavior, right. Ok, it's a "nowhere fast" boat and there are times this is better than a Speedy Gonzales :) Thanks for the review of the spacious cat ! Fair winds, see you on the next!

I think we would still get the video out and imagine the views if there was a terrible accident,( Hmm that has me thinking) only kidding and she was a great boat in the end, handled well for a house and looked after us in style.

Because I did, you can't always choose who you deliver with and no matter how hard you try there is always one human that you just can't get on with. But the owner and his mate were awesome fun so that helped.
