I love this movie! And I find Alexander's relationship with his mother so interesting in the movie. To his face she tell his he's going to be this great king remembered throughout history but to other people (specifically to her husband) she said "In my womb I carried my avenger." Implying that she created Alexander the way he was so he could live out her power fantasy through him. Because she felt scared and alone in a foreign land she created someone everyone else needed to be afraid of.
Few men have had more of an impact on the world than Alexander, and when y’all were saying he was good at conquering but not building an empire that’s completely incorrect from the evidence we have. He built tons of cities and was masterful at keeping up the administration of the empire and the politics involved. Great to see points of views of people that don’t know much about the topic though, you should def educate yourselves more in it and give perhaps another discussion about what you’ve learned and how it contrasts from your views from when you uninformed on the topic.

Alexander had perhaps the greatest plot armor ever. I guess I can see why he thought himself divine, having somehow survived so many insanely dangerous situations where he should have died. But...the flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long and eventually his plot armor broke. Also like all powerful folks he made powerful enemies...and whether his early death was from a prematurely worn out body or the poison of an enemy who was sick of his megalomaniacal obsessions...he was a controversial figure in his life and has remained so for over two thousand years. Hello ladies, I love that you reviewed this movie. The Persian Empire contributed a lot to the world and I loved hearing your perspective as Persians. I enjoyed this movie but understood it was not very historically accurate. Some of these cities are still major centers today like Alexandria, Egypt that was a place of major learning for Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans.
